Chapter 126 The Protagonist Was Herself

Fortunately, Ryan didn't pick up on the odd tone in Grace's voice. He said, "Did you know Xavier's girlfriend went on a blind date?"

"What?" Grace was stunned.
Xavier's girlfriend?

"I'm asking you the question," Ryan said impatiently.
Grace, still in shock, asked, "Xavier has a girlfriend?"

Hearing this, Ryan was speechless. "Forget it, I knew you wouldn't know anything. Asking you is pointless."
Ryan knew Grace wouldn't know anything. He hadn't even managed to find out from Xavier who it was. How could Grace, someone even more insignificant than him, possibly know?

"What girlfriend? Where did she go on a blind date?" Grace asked.
Suddenly, a thought occurred to her. Could this girlfriend be her?

"Why are you asking me? I don't have time for this nonsense." With that, Ryan hung up the phone and said to Patrick, "Grace doesn't know either. She even tried to find out from me who Xavier's girlfriend is. Grace is such an idiot."

Patrick couldn't be bothered with Grace at the moment; he was busy trying to find out who this woman was.

After hanging up, Grace still couldn't calm down. She bit her lip lightly, unable to focus on the reports in front of her.
Grace had accompanied Angela to a blind date today, and the guy had mistaken her for Angela and chatted with her for a bit.
If it were just that, Grace wouldn't have suspected herself. But Victor had seen them.

Victor had previously misunderstood her relationship with Xavier and sent her to the Bameran villa. Could it be that Victor had sent Xavier some misleading message again?
It shouldn't be. Xavier shouldn't have any other women.
The person involved in this drama was her.
But how did Ryan know about this?
It must be a mistake, or maybe Xavier didn't care about this at all?
Grace thought, 'It had to be a mistake!'

Grace was conflicted. Should she send Xavier a message to get some information?
She hesitated for a long time over Xavier's number, then composed a text message.

After thinking it over, Grace deleted the message and sent one to Victor instead.

Grace: [Mr. Hastings, you didn't tell anyone about seeing me at the restaurant today, did you?] Grace felt less pressure after messaging Victor.

What Grace didn't know was that Victor was currently drinking with Xavier.
Seeing Grace's message, Victor handed his phone to Xavier. "Look, Grace is asking me."
Then he looked at Xavier. "You don't ask them to keep secrets. Do you want everyone to know? Almost all the elites in Skigeth know about this now. Are you deliberately letting people know you have a girlfriend?"

Xavier's long fingers held a wine glass, gently swirling it, making the wine look like a piece of art, as he tilted his head back, gulping the wine down.

After drinking, Xavier finally spoke, "You're overthinking it. Why would I do that?"
"How would I know why would you do? We can never figure you out," Victor said, replying to Grace's message at the same time.

Victor: [If you want to know, why not ask me in person?]

Then Victor then sent Grace the address of the bar they were at.

Grace looked at the message. It was just a simple question; there was no need to ask in person. It was just a matter of a few words.
Did Victor want her to come over because he had something to say?

While Grace was lost in thought, she received a call from Angela.

"Grace, I have a secret to share with you!" Angela couldn't wait.
"What's up? You went back to the Turner family. They didn't give you a hard time, did they?" Grace asked.

After their blind date, Grace and Angela had parted ways. Just after they had dinner, the Turner family called and summoned Angela back.
Grace had been worried, thinking that James must have complained and Angela would definitely get scolded.

Angela, however, was nonchalant. She was used to being scolded. They would just say she was immature and couldn't compare to Edith, who was always praised for being sensible. Edith would even exacerbate the situation by speaking ill of Angela.
Angela was all too familiar with this routine.

James was really a scumbag. It was clearly his fault, yet he would come back and complain, putting all the blame on Angela.

Not wanting Grace to worry, Angela said, "No one gave me a hard time. You know me well; no one can trouble me. Let me tell you, Jessica used to look down on Edith. Despite Edith's earnest attempts to befriend her, their relationship remained strained. However, after returning from the resort, it appears that their relationship has started to improve. And just now, Jessica was on the phone with Edith. I heard that Xavier's girlfriend apparently went on a blind date behind his back."

Grace was silent. It was one thing for Ryan to know, but how did it reach Angela's ears?
She pondered, 'Did everyone know about it now? How did this rumour get out?'

Grace hadn't planned on going to the place Victor mentioned, but now it seemed she had to go and find out.

"Grace, why don't you seem surprised at all?" Angela noticed Grace's lack of reaction.
"I'm very surprised. How could this happen? It's unbelievable," Grace feigned shock.
Angela saw right through her. "Grace, that was so fake."
"But Xavier's girlfriend, could she be his fiancée?" Angela was very curious.
Grace said, "He doesn't have a fiancée."
Angela looked at her. "You know that?"
"I asked him once. Xavier said he doesn't have a fiancée," Grace answered.
"Do you believe him? He might be deliberately denying it!" Angela didn't trust men at all.

Grace said, "I believe him. He's different from others. If he says he doesn't have one, then he doesn't."

"Grace, are you falling for Xavier? You're actually defending him," Angela chuckled.

"I'm not. I'm very clear-headed. I just think Xavier isn't that kind of person."

"Whatever, it doesn't matter. Whether Xavier has a fiancée or not has nothing to do with us," Angela said, not dwelling on it. "But I heard that the person who sent the message said it was Xavier's girlfriend. So, Xavier must have a woman. That can't be wrong, right?"

Grace remained silent. She had a lot to say about this. It was all just a misunderstanding.

"But what I find strange is, if that woman is with Xavier, why would she go on a blind date?"
Angela couldn't figure it out and continued to analyze. "Could it be that Xavier is a jerk and doesn't want to marry her? Or maybe Xavier is not good at sex, and his girlfriend is dissatisfied with him?"
