Chapter 400 Grace, I've Been Waiting for You All Along

"I'm looking for Grace," the guy from the car said as he stepped out. "I saw her get into your car."

Grace spotted Omari up ahead and got out of the car too.

"Omari?" Grace walked over. "Have you been following me?"

Omari nodded. "I just wanted to talk. Angela told me you were here, so I came to find you. I saw you get into the car, so I followed."

After some time apart, Omari looked more grown-up. He was rocking a trench coat, and his hair was perfectly styled.

When Angela called Grace today, she was chatting with the Coleman family. After hanging up, she texted Angela, letting her know she was at this hotel.

"What do you want?" Grace asked him.

Even though she had ended things with Xavier, she wasn't into Omari and didn't want to give him any false hope.

Omari said, "Angela told me about you and Xavier. Grace, my feelings for you haven't changed. I've always been waiting for you. I'm taking over the family business now. Trust me, I'll make something of myself soon. I'm not asking for anything right now. I just want you to know you're not alone. I'm still here for you. If you ever need someone, you can count on me. Do you have time tomorrow? Can I take you out for a meal?"

Omari's eyes were soft and warm.

He never thought of letting Grace go. He knew Grace and Xavier were done, so he kept waiting.

Grace's face stayed the same. "I'm sorry, Omari. Even though Xavier and I broke up, I'm not looking to start another relationship. If I gave you the wrong idea, I apologize."

"That's not what I mean. I'm not asking for anything. I just want to be there for you, even as a friend," Omari said gently.

Omari knew Grace needed someone by her side right now.

In the shadows on the other side of the alley, a tall man stood there, coldly watching everything.

If looks could kill, Omari would be dead a hundred times over.

But Omari, lost in his feelings, only had eyes for Grace and saw nothing else.

Xavier watched coldly from a distance. Omari was still delusional. He should take a good look at whether he was even qualified.

He also knew Grace would never agree to be with Omari.

Xavier had been following Grace too, but his tracking skills were so good that if he didn't want to be seen, no one could find him.

Xavier's eyes were on Grace, not missing any chance to see her.

"Omari, I..." Grace started.

Omari cut her off. "Grace, you don't need to say anything. I get it. It's late now, you should go back."

Omari quickly left, and Grace had no choice but to get back in her car.

She didn't like Omari now, and she wouldn't in the future.

Grace wondered if Angela still wanted to set them up. She thought about finding a chance to clear things up with Angela.

The driver kept driving, but Grace couldn't shake the feeling that someone was still following her. She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination.

She felt like someone was watching her, but she couldn't see anything unusual around the car.

Grace figured the driver was pretty sharp. If someone was tailing them, he would've noticed. She was probably just overthinking it.

When they got to the parking lot, Grace hopped out and headed straight home.

She had fixed the surveillance cameras, and seeing nothing on them, she felt relieved.

Xavier hung around downstairs for a long time, until it was really late, before taking his private jet back to Oakworth.

Mason asked, "Mr. Montgomery, should we still have someone keep an eye on Ms. Lewis?"

Xavier knew Grace wouldn't do anything reckless. He thought for a moment. "No need for now. Have them pull back."

"But Omari seems to have a lot of free time lately, just like Sterling. Find them something to do." Xavier's tone was annoyed.

"Yes, sir," Mason replied.

Grace had just gotten home when Angela messaged her, saying she was downstairs.

Angela came up, looking worried. "Grace, did Omari come to see you?"

"Yeah, we talked for a bit," Grace responded.

"Omari cares about you a lot. He asked me about you and Xavier. I didn't say much, just that you two might have broken up. But he insisted on coming to see you. You're not mad, are you?" Angela asked cautiously.

Grace shook her head. "No, come in. We need to talk."

Grace and Angela both freshened up a bit and then lay on the bed.

Angela sat up abruptly after hearing what Grace said. "You mean your mom is from the Coleman family, the Elizabeth they've been looking for? And that narcissistic Scott is your brother!"

Angela covered her mouth, feeling like she had just heard some earth-shattering news.

Grace nodded, "It seems so."

"Grace, you're actually a wealthy heiress! Oh my God, I have a rich homegirl!" Angela quickly hugged her.

She thought that Grace was not only strikingly beautiful, but also exuded an exceptional grace and poise. There was an aura of nobility and elegance about her, making it impossible to believe that someone like Zach could have fathered her.

Zach was only fit to father someone like Madison!

"What exactly happened? Tell me everything!" Angela couldn't believe that a story straight out of a TV drama was happening around her.

Grace briefly explained, including the Montgomery family's situation.

Angela was furious after hearing it. "That Patrick is so cunning and despicable! So from the beginning, when he arranged your engagement to Ryan, he was already scheming for your money. He's been plotting since you were a child. Patrick is really terrifying. I used to think he was a good philanthropist."

In Angela's previous views, Patrick had a great reputation and often did charity work. He was well-regarded in Skigeth.

She would have never thought his true nature was like this!

Angela thought of something and asked, "Have you told the Coleman family about your pregnancy?"

Grace shook her head. "Only you know about this, Angela. Can you keep it a secret? I plan to terminate the pregnancy tomorrow. Can you come with me?"

"Grace, are you sure?" Angela looked at her worriedly.

Grace gently caressed her abdomen, still finding it hard to believe in the existence of the child within her. She felt incapable of providing a good life for the baby and lacked Evelyn's magnanimity. She believed that this child would eventually find a more suitable family and better parents.
