Chapter 305 The Wedding, I Prepared a Gift for You

The next day rolled around, and Grace woke up to find her phone totally dead.

After juicing it up, she got herself together and slapped on some makeup. She had Ryan's wedding to hit up later.

Once she was all set, she linked up with Angela, and they cruised over to the church together.

The Montgomery wedding was a big deal. This whole shindig was supposed to be for Grace.

Grace knew she wasn't the one tying the knot with Ryan, and she couldn't be happier. The weather felt perfect, and even the air seemed fresher.

She and Angela didn't show up super early; the place was already buzzing with guests.

The Montgomerys were a top-tier family in Skigeth, so naturally, a ton of people came to celebrate.

The wedding was happening on the lawn, but it wasn't showtime yet. Ryan was up front with Patrick, greeting folks, while Kelly was getting ready backstage.

Even though it was a happy day, Ryan looked like someone had just told him he owed a billion bucks.

But that didn't kill Grace's vibe. "Let's go backstage and see Kelly. We know her, and we should give the bride some love."

Ryan spotted Grace from afar, his eyes lighting up. He wanted to go over, but Patrick held him back.

Patrick said, "Remember, your wife now is Kelly!"

Ryan had to force himself to stay put.

Even with Grace all dolled up, Ryan's mind kept flashing to her natural beauty.

He was kicking himself, wishing he could turn back time to marry Grace instead of messing around with Kelly, and that it was Grace he was marrying today.

Ryan's eyes stayed glued to Grace. He wanted to drop everything and run to her. He snapped out of it when she disappeared from view.

Grace and Angela made it backstage, where Kelly was getting her makeup done.

Kelly was in her wedding dress, smiling, but it wasn't a happy smile—it was more like she was finally getting what she wanted.

Kelly was checking herself out in the mirror. She was already pretty; otherwise, she wouldn't have snagged Ryan.

Kelly thought she looked stunning today. Her wedding dress was like something out of a fairy tale. She felt like a princess, finally living her dream of marrying into money.

She was done with the broke life from her childhood. Her parents always favored the boys, and she knew she had to fight for a good life herself.

This was just the start. Now that she was in the Montgomery family, she wasn't planning on leaving!

As Kelly admired herself, she suddenly saw Grace in the mirror. Her heart skipped a beat, and her smile froze.

Kelly asked, "Grace! What are you doing here?"

Hadn't she made sure Grace didn't get an invite? She wanted Grace to see her marry Ryan, but she had to think about the dirt Grace had on her.

"Of course, I'm here to congratulate you." Grace's smile was bright.

Kelly thought Grace was there to stir up trouble, but Grace was genuinely wishing Kelly and Ryan a long, happy marriage, hoping they wouldn't hurt anyone else.

Kelly still hadn't given Grace her mom's ashes because she hadn't gotten them yet. Grace was like a ticking time bomb to Kelly, ready to blow at any moment.

"Grace, I need to talk to you alone," Kelly said, trying to keep her cool. She was worried Grace might spill the beans at the wedding.

Grace shrugged, "I got nothing to say to you. Just here to see the bride. You look stunning, and I'm sure your baby will be just as gorgeous."

Grace's smile was small but sharp.

Kelly's face went a bit pale.

"Oh, and I got a gift for you," Grace's smile widened.

Kelly felt a chill. Grace's "gift" was bound to be trouble.

Grace didn't spill what the gift was and quickly bounced with Angela.

Angela shot Kelly a look of pure disgust.

"How does someone like Kelly even exist, let alone marry into money?" Angela fumed.

Grace asked, "Marrying rich doesn't mean happiness. Would you want her life?"

Angela thought about it—being Kelly, marrying into wealth but living a miserable, unstable life, always scheming. The thought freaked her out.

Angela shook her head. "No way. I'd rather go back to the sticks."

Grace said, "You'll find someone who loves you back. It's just a matter of time. And when that day comes, I'm gonna party hard at your wedding!"

Angela laughed, "Deal! You'll get the best seat in the house!"

They laughed and chatted until it was almost time for the wedding to kick off.

Grace pulled Angela to their seats to watch the show.

The wedding was a big deal, with media everywhere. The Montgomerys wanted to show off how well they treated Kelly.

Kelly didn't tell her family about the wedding, so there was no dad to walk her down the aisle. She walked alone, crossing the red carpet to Ryan.

"Where are the bride's parents?" someone whispered.

"I heard they're dead. Poor girl."

"Really? She must be something to marry Ryan on her own. Not a simple woman."

"Didn't you see the scandals online? She trapped the Montgomerys by getting pregnant. Look at Ryan; he looks miserable. The Montgomerys used to be so high and mighty, and now they've been played by a woman. It's hilarious."

Ryan's face was a storm cloud, and he looked ready to blow up.

Kelly reached Ryan, almost crying with joy. "Ryan, I've loved you forever, and now I'm finally marrying you."

"I've been alone since I was a kid, always wanting someone to love and protect me. Ryan, meeting you is the luckiest thing in my life. Will you love me, protect me, and our baby forever?" Kelly made sure to mention the baby, one hand on her belly, the other holding Ryan's hand.

The crowd went silent, eyes glued to the scene. Then, out of nowhere, a man's voice boomed, "Kelly!"

Security tried to stop the guy, but he shoved them aside. "Don't stop me! Don't stop me!"

Hearing the voice, Kelly turned, fear flashing in her eyes as the man approached.
