Chapter 667 Mr. K, I'm So Scared

"Who's there?" Nick looked around, confused and on edge.

Who had a gun? Who dared to fire it?

"It's me," a man's voice called out as Killer stepped out of the shadows.

Grace had noticed the car nearby earlier and guessed it was Killer, so she surrendered without a fight. She knew Killer would intervene, and seeing him filled her with relief and excitement.

He had said he wouldn't take her home, but he had followed her quietly. He always showed up when she was in danger, protecting her at all times.

Killer approached. "Let her go, and I'll let you walk away. Otherwise..."

He didn't finish his threat, but the message was clear.

Nick saw that Killer was alone and wasn't intimidated. "You? You think you can play hero? Just you alone? You interrupted me, and now you think you can walk away? Get him! Chop him up and feed him to the dogs!"

Grace interjected, "You should listen to him. Don't provoke him. His combat skills are unmatched."

She was trying to help Nick and his men by warning them.

But Nick didn't believe her. "Get him! Take his gun!"

Killer had already fired three bullets and didn't have many left. Even without a gun, these men were no match for him.

The men charged at Killer with sticks, trying to hit him. But Killer easily disarmed them, then kicked and struck them down. He hit hard enough that they couldn't get up for a while.

Nick was shocked at how formidable Killer was. "You..."

Realizing he couldn't win, Nick panicked. He wanted to run. Attempted kidnapping was already a crime, and he couldn't worry about his injured, bleeding wrist.

He turned to flee, but Killer wasn't in a hurry. He first took down the two men holding Grace, then threw a stick with such force that it hit Nick's leg, making him fall to his knees.

Killer, holding Grace's hand, walked up to Nick. "Did I say you could leave?"

Nick, now kneeling as if apologizing to Grace, looked terrified. "I was wrong, Ms. Lewis. I deserve to be punished. Call the police. Let them arrest me. I'll go to jail!"

If Grace pressed charges, the police might arrest him, and he might survive.

Nick slapped himself and begged for forgiveness.

Grace was silent. It was the first time she'd seen someone begging to go to jail.

"What should we do? Kill him?" Killer didn't know Nick and had no reason to show mercy. Besides, Nick had attacked Grace. Letting him go would be too lenient.

Grace looked at Killer. His casual mention of killing confirmed her suspicion that he was indeed Killer. His precise shooting skills, hitting targets without much aiming, indicated professional training.

"Call the cops. They'll take care of it." If Nick wanted to go to jail, so be it. He wouldn't have an easy time there.

Grace picked up her phone and saw several missed calls from Steven. She called him back, and he answered anxiously, "Grace, where are you? What happened?"

"It's okay now, Steven. But I need your help with something. Can you send someone over? I'm not far from home."

"No problem. I'll send someone right away."

Steven quickly arranged for help, and they arrived shortly since it wasn't far.

Grace handed the situation over to them and then looked at Killer with innocent eyes, snuggling into his arms. "Mr. K, I was so scared. If you hadn't been here, I would've been in big trouble. I'm so glad you showed up."

Killer remained silent.

Grace pushed further. "See how dangerous it is for me to be out alone? Why don't you agree to be my bodyguard? I'd feel safe with you around."

Killer stayed silent.

"I can find you two bodyguards," he said coldly, though he stood stiffly as Grace hugged him.

"They wouldn't be as good as you. And how did you happen to be here? Were you following me?"

"No," Killer denied.

In truth, he had refused to take Grace home but had secretly followed her, worried someone might harm her. And indeed, someone had tried.

If he hadn't been there, Grace might have been in serious trouble.

Killer convinced himself he was just avoiding trouble from the Coleman family if something happened to Grace. It wasn't because he cared about her.

"Then why are you here?"

"Just passing by."

Grace was silent. No one would believe such a lame excuse. He had definitely been following her.

However, she was happy and surprised that he had shown up. She knew he was tough on the outside but soft on the inside.

He acted indifferent, but he cared deeply and acted quietly.

Though Killer wouldn't admit he had followed her, he asked, "Are you hurt anywhere?"

Grace shook her head. "No."

Killer looked down and saw a cut on her hand from the glass. He frowned. That didn't count as being hurt?

"Make sure to clean that cut when you get home."

"I don't know how. You help me!" Grace raised her hand towards him.

Her delicate skin made the small cut look worse, with blood seeping out.

Grace didn't mind the small cut; it didn't hurt much. If it were up to her, she might wipe it with a tissue. She said it on purpose to test Killer.

If he cared about such a small cut, it meant he cared about her a lot!
