Chapter 243 Driven Mad with Jealousy

Steven extended his hand to Grace for a handshake.

Grace hesitated for a moment before shaking it. "Hi, I'm Grace."

Steven's hand was big, and Grace could only grasp his fingertips. She felt a strange sense of familiarity, something she never felt with Zach.

But she quickly brushed it off. These two seemed out of her league, probably just being polite because of Xavier.

Steven's eyes lingered on Grace, and Xavier noticed.

"Steven, do you need something?" Xavier's tone turned cold.

"Yes, I need to speak with you privately, Mr. Montgomery," Steven replied.

Xavier glanced at Grace, who said, "Go ahead, I'll chat with Mr. Turner."

Grace stepped aside, and Xavier faced Steven. It was a rare sight to witness two such powerful geniuses standing toe-to-toe.

"What do you want, Mr. Coleman? Interested in my woman?" Xavier asked pointedly.

Steven said, "Her eyes remind me of a relative. Was she backstage at the last fashion show?"

"You must've checked. It wasn't her. She's never modeled. Which relative are you talking about?" Xavier asked.

"She's close family. If it wasn't her, it's odd. How can someone have such similar eyes? And if Grace is your woman, what was the deal last time?" Steven pressed.

Steven's words were so sharp that clearly indicated his focused attention on Grace.

Xavier replied, "That's private. I don't need to explain my relationships to you."

Steven smirked. "Fair enough." He quickly figured out Grace was likely the woman from the fashion show.

Meanwhile, Grace was exchanging business cards with other entrepreneurs. People knew she was with Xavier, so they showed her respect. She was different from other women, not arrogant, and her subtle fragrance was soothing.

Not far away, Madison glared at Grace with hatred.

Madison had come with Daniel but was too embarrassed to say she was his companion. She had begged Daniel to let her attend as his granddaughter.

Madison wanted to use the event to network. She arrived early and had Daniel introduce her to some big names. But even with Daniel, many ignored her. Some exchanged a few polite words but showed no interest in further conversation.

Neil, who was chatting with Grace, had completely ignored Madison earlier. Now, he and Grace were laughing and clinking glasses.

When Madison had tried to exchange business cards with him, he didn't even glance at her.

Madison gripped her wine glass tightly.

She had begged Daniel to bring her to this event, but Grace got to come as Xavier's companion. Just being with Xavier made her the center of attention.

Wasn't Xavier supposed to dislike women? How could he bring Grace here?

Madison was seething with jealousy.

She watched as Grace and Neil shook hands, seemingly reaching an agreement. Unable to resist, she walked over briskly.

"Grace, didn't expect to see you here," Madison said, trying to sound friendly but failing to hide the coldness.

"Mr. Turner, hello, I'm Grace's sister, Madison," she said, extending her hand to Neil.

Neil, out of respect for Grace, reluctantly shook her hand. "Hello."

Grace wasn't surprised to see Madison, given her new connections.

For Madison to call herself Grace's younger sister was a joke. From childhood, Madison had always denied any connection to Grace and distanced herself from Grace.

"I wonder what Grace was talking about with you, looking so happy. I'm the manager of the Lewis Group now. If you need anything related to perfumes or fragrances, contact me. I guarantee the best products at the best prices!"

Madison immediately started pitching her business.

Neil's face darkened with a hint of disgust. "Is that so?"

"Of course, Mr. Turner, you should consider..." Madison was cut off by Neil.

"No need, I don't need any perfumes or fragrances. You can leave now," Neil said bluntly.

Madison was stunned and looked at Grace. "Why? Can her perfumes be any better? Mr. Turner, the Lewis Group's perfumes are top quality. Her company's products are poorly made, and many people have had allergic reactions. You can find this online!"

"Madison, what are you doing? I was just having a casual chat with Mr. Turner. He's kind enough to talk with me, and I'm grateful. I just wanted to learn from him," Grace said.

She hadn't mentioned anything about perfumes or business. She was just making friends, which could be beneficial for the future.

Approaching someone just to talk business was off-putting.

The AT Group mainly dealt with games, and Grace had played several of their games, so they chatted about that.

Hearing Grace praise his company's products delighted Neil. He had been enjoying the conversation, but Madison's pitch was annoying.

Even if Neil were to consider a partnership, he would definitely choose Grace over Madison.
