Chapter 580 Is Xavier's Guess Wrong?
Jane wanted to say something, but no words came out. Who had the nerve to kidnap her right in front of the hospital? This place, Vesperia, was indeed dangerous, with threats lurking everywhere, and so brazenly too! Damn it, these people deserved to die! Once she got back to Aetheria, she would make sure these kidnappers were executed for daring to abduct the princess! She believed Robert and Dorian would find her soon and rescue her. However, Jane didn't expect that a whole day would pass without any food or any sign of rescue. It seemed no one was coming for her, and her captors hadn't done anything to her either.
In the hospital's lab, Dominic was busy preparing to conduct a DNA test personally. Someone called from the door, "Mr. Neville, there's a patient in critical condition who needs your immediate attention."
"I'm busy right now," Dominic replied, unable to leave his work.
"But the situation is really urgent, Mr. Neville. The patient is becoming agitated."
"Alright, I'll be right there," Dominic said, putting down his work and instructing someone to keep an eye on it, ensuring no one touched anything. He didn't notice that after he left, someone quietly swapped the cigarette butt.
Jared received a call, "Mr. Peterson, you were right. Xavier is suspicious and is conducting a test."
Jared's eyes gleamed with undisguised malice. Xavier was indeed a smart person. Despite no evidence or obvious clues, Xavier had managed to think this far. This young man's mind was truly remarkable. If only Xavier were on his side and followed his orders. Unfortunately, they were destined to be rivals, possibly fighting to the death in the future. It would be a pity if Xavier died. Fortunately, Jared had built a strong network over the years. On Dorian's first day in the hospital, Jared had already planted his people there, just in case. He knew this day would come. He wanted Xavier to understand that there were always smarter people out there.
The next day, Xavier received a call from Dominic, "The test results are in."
"What are they?"
Before the results were out, Xavier wasn't sure if his suspicions were correct. A hunch didn't mean much. Dominic said, "I'm sorry, but you were wrong this time. There's no familial relationship between Grace and him."
Xavier wasn't sure if this outcome was expected. He had thought that Dorian might have had a past with Elizabeth, and Jane might have tampered with Dorian's memory. Now it seemed he might have overthought it.
"Are you sure the results are accurate? No issues during the test?"
"I'm sure. I did it myself and didn't let anyone else interfere."
"Alright, got it."
Xavier hung up the phone. Grace stood behind him, "What's going on? What were the test results?"
"I had Dominic run a test. Seeing how Dorian and Jane reacted to you, I thought maybe your mom had some connection with Dorian, so I had Dominic test your DNA with his. Looks like I might've overthought it."
Xavier's bold speculation took aback Grace. She never would have dared to think that way. How could she be so lucky to be the king's daughter?
Grace said, "Didn't Jared say I'm his daughter?"
"That's just talk. Anyone can say that. Who knows if it's true?" Xavier didn't buy it. The Coleman family had mistaken their daughter before, thanks to Patrick's meddling. This time, Dominic had personally conducted the test, so Xavier trusted the results.
"Even if Dorian isn't your father, he definitely knows Elizabeth. How about we visit him at the hospital today?"
"Sure," Grace agreed. Last time, if it hadn't been for Jane's interference, she would have visited Dorian.
Just then, Xavier's phone rang. It was the butler from his villa.
"Elijah?"
"Mr. Montgomery, a gentleman named Dorian is here to see you."
"Let him wait in the guest room."
Xavier hadn't expected Dorian to come to his place. Dorian might be here to see him or Grace. Xavier had several properties in Oakworth, including multiple villas, all with large grounds. His main residence was in a prime location, beautifully built. However, Xavier often stayed in a spacious apartment close to his company, especially since he and Grace had been living there recently. So, he hadn't gone back to the villa. Dorian had gone to the villa.
"Dorian's at the house. Want to go meet him?"
"Sure," Grace said, eager to meet Dorian.
Xavier and Grace set off and soon arrived at Xavier's other property. The size was comparable to The Bameran Villa, and it was beautifully built. This was Grace's first time here, and she was once again impressed by Xavier's wealth.
"Mr. Montgomery."
When Xavier arrived, Kieran immediately approached him.
Xavier nodded and said, "This is Grace. She'll be the lady of the house from now on."
Kieran's eyes showed a hint of surprise, but he quickly said, "Mrs. Montgomery."
"Just call me Grace," Grace said, feeling unworthy of the title.
Dorian was already waiting in the guest room. Xavier went straight in.
Grace hesitated at the door, "Maybe I shouldn't go in?"
She worried that seeing her might upset Dorian.
Xavier went in alone. Dorian immediately looked behind Xavier, "Where's Grace? Didn't she come with you?"
"Why are you so interested in my fiancée?"
"I came to thank Grace for taking me to the hospital last time. Where is she?"
Dorian had been thinking about Grace these past few days. He had searched for information about her, read everything he could find, and had people investigate her. Dorian had also looked into Elizabeth, staring at the name for a long time, but there was very little information available. He had come today to see Grace.
