Chapter 482 My Wife Won't Let Me Drink
When Grace and Xavier arrived, the private room was bustling with activity.
Xavier held Grace's hand as they entered, and suddenly everyone stood up.
Colin stared blankly at the door. Didn't Xavier say he was bringing Grace? Why was he holding another woman's hand?
This woman was stunningly beautiful. He swore she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Her beauty was indescribable, like something out of a novel. Her eyes were incredibly lively, her features flawless, and every move she made captivated everyone.
Victor was the first to react, "We've been waiting for you guys for ages. You took forever."
"Wait a minute!" Colin shouted, then sneaked to the door to check, looking back and forth between Xavier and Grace.
Colin pulled Xavier aside and whispered, "What are you doing? Didn't you say you were bringing Grace? Why did you bring another woman? Are you trying to make Grace mad? Are you breaking up?"
Victor, standing nearby, couldn't stop laughing. He knew Colin had the same reaction he did when he first saw Grace.
The last time Grace came to pick up Xavier, he saw her true appearance for the first time, and it shocked him how beautiful she was.
He didn't expect Colin to be unaware of this.
"Shut up!"
"Why? What's going on? When Grace left Oakworth, weren't you devastated? You drank yourself silly. How could you move on so quickly? I really misjudged you!"
Grace, overhearing, couldn't help but lean in, "You were devastated when I left Oakworth?"
"What do you mean you left? Let me tell you, even though you're beautiful, Xavier already has someone he loves. He really likes her. You don't stand a chance," Colin said righteously.
He still supported Grace because being with her felt very comfortable.
Even though this woman was also very beautiful and looked perfect with Xavier, there was a matter of who came first. He believed Xavier wasn't a jerk.
Victor couldn't hold back any longer and burst out laughing.
Colin was puzzled, "What's so funny? Am I wrong?"
Victor gave a thumbs up, "No, you're absolutely right."
He couldn't imagine what Colin's reaction would be when he found out this woman was Grace.
Grace looked at Colin, "Are you serious?"
"Of course. I was really sad at the time. Xavier was sleepless and restless every day. I've never seen him like that. Even the proudest person seemed to bow their head, heartbroken. He had never liked anyone this much."
Colin wasn't exaggerating. That's exactly how he saw it.
Xavier initially wanted to stop him but then thought it was a good opportunity to play the sympathy card. If Colin could talk, let him talk more.
Grace didn't know Xavier was like that at the time. She reached out and squeezed Xavier's palm.
Colin noticed her small gesture and was about to say something when he saw the bracelet on Grace's wrist.
He was stunned, "That bracelet..."
He remembered it was on Grace's wrist. He was shocked that Xavier would give his mother's keepsake to Grace.
Later, Xavier and Grace seemed to fight, and Grace returned the bracelet to Xavier. During that time, he often saw Xavier staring at the bracelet in a daze.
And now, the bracelet was on another woman's wrist.
"It's mine. Do you like it?" Grace extended her hand and waved it in front of Colin.
Her fingers were very beautiful, and the dark bracelet wrapped around them, shining under the crystal light in the room.
But what was shocking was Grace's words.
"Yours?"
Wasn't it Xavier's?
Xavier just let this woman have it?
"Grace, he's an idiot. Please don't talk to him. Come and sit down. You and Xavier are late, so you have to drink three glasses."
Victor quickly pulled Colin aside and had Isaac fill the glasses.
Xavier said, "She can't drink. I'll drink for her."
So, Xavier drank six glasses by himself.
Grace couldn't help but pull him, "Drink less."
Xavier's stomach wasn't good, and he was drinking like it was water. Was he trying to kill himself?
"Okay, I'll listen to you," Xavier agreed readily.
Everyone else was silent.
When had Xavier ever been so obedient? Today, they witnessed the power of love.
"Xavier, have another drink," Victor poured another glass for Xavier.
They were out to drink today, and they were all familiar with each other. Drinking together was fun.
Unexpectedly, Xavier pushed it away and said, "My wife doesn't allow it."
Everyone else, "What?"
His wife?
Doesn't allow it?
Xavier's words left everyone dumbfounded. When had Xavier become so obedient? He wouldn't drink just because he was told not to?
This made Grace feel a bit embarrassed. She knew they were out to drink, and if Xavier didn't drink, what would the others do?
"I'm not saying you can't drink, just drink less."
"Exactly, Grace just wants you to drink less," Victor quickly handed the glass to Xavier, "Have another one."
"Grace should have one too," Victor pushed a glass towards her.
Colin was still surprised. Why did Victor call this woman Grace? This woman wasn't Grace. Grace wasn't this beautiful.
Or did Xavier like the name Grace so much that even his girlfriend had to be called Grace?
"I said she can't drink," Xavier blocked it again.
"Why can't she drink?" Victor was surprised.
Xavier laughed, "Since we're on the topic, I have some good news to share."
"What good news?" Everyone gathered around.
Seeing Xavier so happy, could it be that he was getting married?
Xavier pulled Grace over, "I'm going to be a dad. You guys, as godfathers, better prepare some gifts."
"What?" Everyone was shocked.
Those who knew Xavier thought he was the least likely to care about relationships, especially family.
They couldn't imagine Xavier, who had been single for so many years, being so moved by a woman, so concerned about someone.
They originally thought that Xavier and Grace being together was just them getting close. Who knew how long it would take to start a family? Xavier surely didn't want to get married or be controlled.
As for kids, that was even more out of the question. Did Xavier seem like someone who could be a dad?
But unexpectedly, Xavier was the first among them to become a dad.
