Madison waited until Grace left before coming out from the other side.
She stomped her feet in frustration. Although today's sales were okay, they didn't meet her expectations at all.
She had spent a significant amount of money on design, promotion, and hiring spokespersons during the initial stages, and today, she could say that she didn't earn back the money she invested.
Grace did everything herself, and she didn't spend much on promotion. This time, she made a killing.
With Samuel's complimentary promotion, Iris' brand was poised never to lack clientele in the future.
All the salespeople who had previously refused Grace's offers were now reaching out to her, begging for her to share some products with them so they can help sell them.
Madison returned home feeling very unhappy, only to find her father in the foyer, looking unusually happy.
"Dad, is Mom not home?" Madison looked around and didn't see Taylor.
She was going to come back and complain to Taylor. She couldn't stomach the idea today.
"Your mom had something to do and went out," Zach said with a smile on his face.
Gunter came in today, and after Zach accompanied them to dinner, he sent both Taylor and Gunter to the hotel so that his Honey could spend some quality time with Gunter and have a conversation with Gunter.
This time, Taylor will probably bring back a lot of money.
"What happened? Where did you go?" Madison asked.
"Don't ask so many questions. How did your performance go today?" Zach looked at her. Madison had recently proposed opening a store, and he had given her a lot of money for it.
Madison was angry. "All you care about is the store. That Grace is almost surpassing me!"
And then she angrily went upstairs. Her mom wasn't home, so she wanted to call her sister and complain about this matter.
If only her sister had been here, she would surely have been able to outshine Grace.
You see, her sister reigned as the premier intellectual in Skigeth, wielding considerable prowess.
Zach was in a good mood today and didn't pay attention to his daughter's irrational behavior.
He kept looking at his phone. Soon, it was 10 o'clock, and another two hours passed. It was past midnight.
Zach was just about to go upstairs to rest when the villa's door opened, and Taylor came in from outside.
Taylor didn't look too good. Her eyes were a bit red.
"Taylor? Why did you come back? Where's Mr. Gunter?"
Wasn't she supposed to accompany Mr. Gunter? Why was she back so early this time?
Taylor Blair didn't say anything. She just walked in.
"Say something," Zach impatiently urged her when he saw Taylor not saying anything.
"What do you want me to say?" Taylor roared.
She once believed that by moving from Betaqule to Skigeth, she could break free from the clutches of that elderly man. Little did she realize that over these years, she had yet to elude them.
That old man liked young, beautiful women. Despite his deteriorating health, he still enjoyed being with them.
Although she took good care of herself and still looked so beautiful, her body couldn't be maintained. It was like the damage caused by childbirth, which was a lifelong consequence.
Gunter quickly lost interest and let Taylor leave.
Taylor wanted to impress Gunter again, but Gunter only felt annoyed.
Taylor had no choice but to come back.
After hearing this, Zach was shocked and asked, "What about the money? Did Mr. Gunter agree to give it?"
"You only care about the money!" Taylor picked up a nearby pillow and threw it at Zach.
She did mention the money in the end, but Gunter said only, "We'll see."
Clearly, he was unwilling to give the money.
Taylor Blair really lived up to being Madison's mother; their way of speaking and tone was the same.
Zach had initially been happy, thinking he could get the money by staying at home. But if Gunter weren't willing to give it, he would be in trouble too!
"I'm going to find Mr. Gunter!" He stood up, ready to leave.
"It's all because of you, useless fool! How did I ever fall for you?" Taylor smashed her fist into Zach's body.
Taylor was an orphan and met Gunter at the age of ten.
At first, Gunter was kind to her, but then his true intentions were revealed.
He was so much older than her, and Taylor found it repulsive.
During that dark period, she met Zach when he was on a business trip to Betaqule. Back then, Zach was handsome, refined, and charming.
They quickly became passionate, and Taylor didn't care about anything else as long as she could be with Zach, even though Zach was already married.
Later on, she came to Skigeth, thinking that she had escaped Mr. Gunter and that Zach would truly give her the life she wanted.
In the end, he still had to rely on herself to earn money!
"How am I a useless fool? Have I ever mistreated you all these years, Taylor? You live lavishly without knowing how to be frugal. It's me who has supported you all these years. Have you ever earned a penny?" Zach also became angry.
"Zach, are you even a man?"
"If I'm not a man, then who is? Your Mr. Gunter?"
Upon hearing this, Taylor was momentarily stunned before her punches became even heavier.
But she was just a woman, and no matter how heavy her punches were, they couldn't do much damage.
However, Zach had had enough. He pushed Taylor away and said, "Enough, you useless waste of space!"
Zach left the house, as Taylor was left empty-handed, and he had to go in person.
Zach bought many things and apologized to Gunter.
At the hotel, the bouncer at the entrance checked his identification before going in to announce his arrival. After a while, he was finally motioned to come in.
Inside the room was a lively scene, bustling with unprecedented liveliness, reminiscent of vibrant revelry night after night. Most of them were bald, and the remaining men had white hair.
Gunter was smoking a cigar while holding two naked women, all of whom were young and beautiful, appearing to be in their early twenties.
They sensually called out his name, and they were all dressed in provocative costumes.
"Mr. Gunter, sorry to disturb you." Zach nervously entered the room.
"What are you here for?" Daniel merely lifted his eyelids when he saw Zach.
"I came because Taylor just came back. I was afraid she might have made you angry, so I came to apologize," Zach explained.
Daniel continued smoking his cigar, his gaze becoming hazy.
"This Taylor, she is still beautiful, but she's getting old," he remarked.
Zach instantly understood that Gunter thought Taylor was getting older.
"Mr. Gunter, people do age, but remember that Taylor is a product of your mentorship and should ideally align with your wishes and intentions at every turn," Zach said.
"Of course, Taylor is beautiful. It's your luck to marry her," Daniel added.
Zach smiled along. "Indeed, it's my luck to marry someone as beautiful as Taylor."
Daniel put down his cigar and withdrew his other hand from the woman next to him, seeming to lose interest in something.
Then, he glanced toward Zach, who was standing hunched over.
"I remember, Taylor has two daughters, right? Especially the younger ones. She looks a lot like Taylor, doesn't she? How old is that little girl? As an elder, I haven't seen her in a long time," Daniel remarked.
Instantly, Zach turned pale.
