Chapter 442 The King Was Shocked After Seeing Grace
These past few days, Bella has been playing with Grace every day. Grace has been having a great time, but for some reason, she wants to go back.
Although this place is nice, she wants to return to Country C.
Grace originally planned to stay a few more days to sort out the branch office matters, but after thinking it over, she decided to have Lily arrange for the staff to come over.
Grace told Steven her thoughts, and Steven was silent for a moment. "Are you uncomfortable staying here, or is it that you're not used to it? How about I get someone to change your bed? Whatever you want, I'll have it brought over."
Grace said, "No, it's just that I have work to handle."
"What do you think about this? I'll help you with it."
"No need."
Steven said, "Do you want to go back to see Xavier?"
"Why would you think that? My wanting to go back has nothing to do with him." Maybe it was because she grew up in Country C that she wanted to go back.
These past few days, she had completely forgotten about Xavier.
She absolutely hadn't thought of him, not even a little!
"Alright, I'll make the arrangements."
"But what about Grandpa..." Grace was worried that Chase would be upset.
"Don't worry, I'll talk to Grandpa. But Grace, I'm not comfortable with you going back alone. I'll have Scott accompany you."
"That's not necessary; I'm not a child."
"If you don't let Scott go with you, then stay here and wait until we can all go back together as a family."
Grace made her choice quickly: "Then I'll go with Scott!"
"In that case, I'll pick out some gifts for friends to take back this afternoon. I'll go with Bella."
In the afternoon, Grace went shopping with Bella again. They picked out many things together. Grace bought many gifts for Angela, as compensation for not spending New Year's Eve with her today.
After shopping, they went to a restaurant to eat. Bella said this restaurant was very famous locally, frequented by many political and business leaders, and ordinary people couldn't even get a reservation.
Grace and Bella went in together. Grace said she needed to use the restroom first and told Bella to go ahead.
When Grace came out of the restroom and was heading to the private room, she saw someone.
Wasn't that the King of Country E, Dorian?
They had met once before, so Grace greeted him, "Mr. Astor."
After greeting him, she realized that she had been wearing makeup the last time they met and was now bare-faced. So many days had passed, and Dorian was so busy; how could he possibly remember her?
At this moment, Dorian's bodyguard noticed her. "Who are you?"
"I..."
Before Grace could explain, she saw Dorian staring at her intently, his pupils seemingly dilated.
"You..." Dorian wanted to say something but didn't know what to say.
This face looked so familiar. Had he seen her somewhere before? His head hurt, as if something was trying to break through, like many elusive things were flashing before him.
His head felt like it was going to explode, and Dorian collapsed straight to the ground.
"King Astor, King Astor!" The bodyguards panicked and quickly took Dorian to a private hospital.
Grace was bewildered. She had no idea what had happened. Why did Dorian suddenly faint?
It had nothing to do with her; she hadn't done anything.
"Arrest her!" The bodyguards said as they moved to grab Grace.
After all, Dorian had an incident right after seeing Grace, making her the prime suspect.
"What are you doing?" Bella saw them trying to touch Grace and quickly intervened.
"Ms. Boleyn." Dorian's bodyguard recognized her.
Her family was nobility in Country E and very influential.
"She's my friend. What happened?"
The bodyguard explained the situation, and Bella said directly, "I brought her here. How could she have anything to do with King Astor fainting? If King Astor is really in trouble and you find evidence pointing to her, then you can take her away."
"We naturally trust Ms. Boleyn's friends, but King Astor cannot have any issues."
"Of course, I understand. Don't worry, we won't run."
After negotiating with them, Bella took Grace back to the private room.
Bella said, "I don't know why King Astor came to dine today. He must have fainted from overwork. It has nothing to do with us."
Grace shook her head. "I don't know. Could it be some conspiracy, and I'm the scapegoat?"
"Definitely not. You have to trust the Boleyn family and the Coleman family. Enjoy your meal."
Although Bella said this, Grace was still a bit worried.
When Dorian saw her, his expression seemed a bit different. She wondered if she was overthinking it.
After dinner, Bella and Grace went back.
Grace told Steven about the incident, and Steven made some inquiries. He soon had news: "King Astor is fine now. He just fainted, probably from being too busy and tired recently."
"That's good." Grace was relieved. If something had really happened to Dorian, it would have been troublesome for her.
"Don't worry. I've already talked to Grandpa. He said if you like Country C, then go back to Country C."
"Thank you so much, Grandpa."
That night, as Grace lay in bed, she couldn't stop thinking about Dorian's reaction and expression today.
But as long as Dorian was fine, she was relieved.
At the private hospital, Jane rushed over as soon as she heard Dorian had fainted.
"What happened? How did he suddenly faint?" Jane was very anxious.
The bodyguards and doctors explained the situation, and Jane asked for more details. The bodyguard described the scene.
Hearing that Dorian fainted after seeing someone, Jane anxiously asked, "Who did he see?"
The bodyguard described, "She is a friend of Ms. Boleyn, quite pretty."
Jane's heart tightened. "Go check the surveillance footage for me."
Jane was worried that the person Dorian saw might be Grace, especially since her eyes were so similar to that woman's.
The bodyguard said, "Jane, we should wait until Dorian wakes up and get his permission before checking."
Jane knew that everything about Dorian was confidential, and she couldn't look at it without his consent.
Not long after, Dorian woke up. He still felt a splitting headache, with the face he saw today floating in his mind. Where had he seen her before, and why did he have no impression at all?
Moreover, just thinking about that face made his head hurt terribly, and he couldn't grasp anything.
Jane immediately came over. "Darling, you're awake. How do you feel? Is there anywhere else uncomfortable? I heard you fainted after seeing someone. What happened?"
Although Jane's tone was anxious and worried, if you listened carefully, you could detect other emotions mixed in.
