Chapter 67 The Rival Acts First

However, when Grace brought out the bill, everything was clearly marked, even the prices of the perfume bottles that were smashed last night.
"If you don't want to pay, then you might not be able to leave today."
"What do you want to do? If you dare to do anything to me, I will call the police!"
Grace sneered. "You can call the police; let's see if they can figure it out; let's see who they catch in the end; it doesn't matter to me. I won't let you off easily in the future; I'll break your hands, ruin your appearance, and destroy your entire life. We can go to hell together since I have nothing left anyway."
Seeing that Grace didn't seem to be joking, Madison was really scared.
"Can't I just compensate you?" Madison quickly swiped her card and paid the money. Originally, she wanted to make Grace look bad, but instead, she suffered the consequences, and Grace made one million dollars.
Thinking about it, Madison was filled with anger. But she was genuinely afraid of Grace, who was willing to do anything.
She was a rich girl who had never so much as held a broom in her own house, found herself coerced into menial tasks by Grace. And to add insult to injury, she had inexplicably lost a million dollars in the process.
As she was leaving, Madison took a few steps before pointing at Grace, saying, "Just wait for me!"
"Grace, are we just letting that Madison go so easily? I think she will cause trouble. We were being kind, but she won't be kind in return!" Angela expressed her concern.
Even though making Madison pay the money made Angela feel satisfied, she was still a little worried.
Grace said, "Forget it; it's the first day of the opening today; let's go easy on her."
Madison wasn't inherently bad, but she was the kind of person who was all talk and no substance.
"True, it's the first day of business, so let's not ruin it just because of her," Angela remarked.
At the same time, a neighboring store was also opening, generating quite a buzz with a celebrity in attendance. Fans were screaming, and the entire mall seemed to be in uproar, with even the upper floors crowded with people.
Curious, Angela said, "I'm going to see what kind of store it is."
She quickly returned and said, "Grace! It's Madison's store!"
The Lewis Group also opened a perfume store not far from Grace's location, and it was buzzing with activity, a stark contrast to the quietness of Grace's store.
Due to the fan effect, the internet is currently flooded with endorsements from that prominent celebrity.
Grace, on the other hand, appeared calm and carefree as she glanced over.
"Why aren't you in a hurry at all, Grace?" Angela, witnessing Grace's calm demeanor, was on the verge of anxiety.
It seems apparent that Madison is deliberately challenging Grace, given the grandiose display on their end.
"Their discussions revolve around that renowned celebrity, with no one truly delving into the essence of the perfume itself. Such endorsement benefits are fleeting and lack longevity. Moreover, Lewis Group's perfume recently weathered a plagiarism scandal, and the product itself is rather ordinary. Therefore, there is no need to rush. If Lewis Group's descent begins, it's merely a matter of time."
Grace was not someone who only considered immediate interests.
She had a longer-term perspective.
During her time in the planning department of the Lewis Group, she hadn't idled away. Apart from marketing planning, she also had to understand the market and the current preferences and trends.
She had never considered the Lewis Group as a competitor. They were each developing their own paths. At most, she saw the Lewis Group as a target to surpass someday.
Not too far away in the mall, two men stood behind a large pillar.
Victor peered around and sighed, "Seems like Graceful Grace's business is suffering a bit."
Feeling a warning in the other person's eyes, Victor smiled and said, "Since we're here, don't you want to go take a look?"
Xavier's voice remained as cold as ever, devoid of warmth. "No."
"You're here, but you're not going to check it out? Since when did Mr. Montgomery become so indifferent?"
"Where did you see me caring about her?"
"Then why are you here? When did Mr. Montgomery become so idle?"
Victor silently watched Xavier pretend not to care despite coming all this way. "I'm not here to see her," Xavier said.
Victor remained silent. He couldn't believe that Xavier was still so stubborn at this moment.
"Why did Mr. Montgomery, who is always busy, come here?" he asked.
"To inspect," Xavier replied.
"What are they inspecting?" Victor continued to inquire.
Xavier merely glanced at him, his gaze landing on Grace not far away.
Seeing Grace's petite figure, her face always so calm, as if nothing could bring her down.
How could such a small body withstand so many difficulties?
Xavier knew how busy Grace had been lately and the effort she had put in. Almost everything was done by her own hands, and she had hardly had a good night's sleep.
That kind of resilience and refusal to give up was rare in people.
Xavier watched her as if seeing himself in his teens.
After a while, he finally spoke, his voice soft, "Consider buying this mall."
Victor widened his eyes. And he claimed not to care about her? He was just being stubborn!
"You see, when you don't make a move, someone else will. If others succeed, the situation won't be good," Victor said.
Before Victor could finish his sentence, he felt a murderous intent coming from beside him.
He quickly shut his mouth. He had spoken too much.
Not far away, a man walked toward Grace. They were not strangers. It was Omari from the Turner family.
Omari came bearing many gifts and congratulating Grace.
"Thank you, Mr. Turner. When Angela mentioned that you were coming, I thought she was joking," Grace said.
"Don't call me Mr. Turner. Before, you called me brother and said Angela's brother is also your brother," Omari said.
Omari was referring to the first time Grace met him. At that time, she heard Angela call him "brother," and she followed suit.
She hadn't met Omari many times, and on subsequent occasions, she had also called him brother. But it was overheard by Edith Turner, who warned her, "Who do you think you are to call him brother?"
Although Grace had fired back at Edith at the time, she wanted to continue calling him brother precisely because Edith was unhappy with it.
In her heart, Grace knew that when she called Omari brother, others might see it as an attempt to gain something, but Grace didn't have that intention at all.
Since then, she never called Omari "brother" again.
Grace smiled and said, "That's all in the past."
"So, are you happy that I'm here this time?" Omari looked at Grace, who was slightly shorter than him, and noticed that her eyes were surprisingly beautiful.
"Of course, I'm happy."
"Well..."
Omari started speaking but suddenly leaned towards Grace as if he wanted to embrace her.
