Chapter 342 Giving Her the Right to Be Unreasonable
"I don't like it," Grace said
"Don't like it?" Xavier pinched her chin, forcing her to look at him. "Don't you care about me?"
Grace deliberately said, "Yeah."
"Ms. Lewis, you're not the kind of heartless person."
"It seems I need to prove it to you personally, so you know you should care about me." Xavier continued.
With that, Xavier grabbed Grace's lips and kissed her.
There were so many onlookers around, someone might be watching. If anyone saw such an intimate scene, it would be so embarrassing.
Grace dodged his kiss and pleaded, "I'm sorry, Mr. Montgomery, I do care about you."
After a pause, she tentatively said, "How about I try to get jealous next time?"
Xavier's hand clasped hers again. "Next time there's a woman by my side, you can throw a fit."
Grace blinked. Was Xavier giving her the right to throw a tantrum?
"So, what's the deal with Sterling? Has he bullied you?"
Grace smiled and said, "If he bullied me, would you stand up for me?"
"Yeah, it's no doubt." Xavier's eyes were filled with possessiveness. "I'm the only one allowed to give you a hard time."
"Just kidding, he doesn't bully me." Grace briefly explained the situation, saying she won purely by luck.
Xavier listened, his deep eyes growing darker. This Sterling loved to cause trouble, but Xavier could tell he was holding back on purpose.
No matter what Sterling's intentions were, Grace was already his. If Sterling had any ideas, Xavier wouldn't just sit back and do nothing.
"Next time something like this happens, just tell me, and I'll handle it," Xavier added.
"Ok." Grace agreed readily. "With Xavier backing me up, I won't be afraid of anything in Oakworth."
Xavier knew Grace was justto please him, but in reality, she wasn't the type to seek his help or rely on him.
Sometimes, he really wished Grace would depend on him a little more.
There was nothing binding them together. Xavier even suspected that if something happened between them in the future, Grace could leave instantly.
Not far away, Stephanie had tidied herself up. She got some ice from a waiter and applied it to her face. The swelling went down, but the five-finger mark remained.
She had to find a mask to wear. Wearing a mask with a dress looked incredibly odd.
The matter here wasn't over yet; Stephanie couldn't leave. She hadn't seen the good show yet!
When Stephanie returned, she was about to confront Xavier, but Colin intervened.
"Stephanie, Xavier has a girlfriend now. You haven't had a chance all these years. Can you stop pestering Xavier and have some dignity?" Colin said.
Colin had never liked Stephanie much. He thought she had a bad temper and wanted the whole world to cater to her.
"None of your business, Colin. You're just Xavier's lapdog, meddling in other people's affairs."
Colin wasn't angry; instead, he laughed. "Stephanie, do you have any dignity? Why should Xavier like you?"
"Colin, are you crazy? Get lost, I don't want to talk to you!" Stephanie glared at him fiercely.
Colin said, "I'm just advising you. You've known Xavier for so many years and never got him, but Grace easily won his heart. It shows that no matter what you do, you won't get Xavier."
"Colin, shut up! Even if I can't get him, Grace won't, either. Do you know what kind of person she is? I'm the heir to the Park Family, and she's just a woman who's been used up. She has had a fiancé before and has been involved with other men. She might have even had an abortion. She's not worthy of Xavier!"
But Colin didn't care. "As long as Xavier likes Grace, it's enough. Don't act like you're so noble. The methods you have used to drive away the women around Xavier aren't exactly honorable either!"
Stephanie didn't want to talk to Colin anymore. "Get lost!"
"I refuse." Colin blocked her.
Stephanie stomped on Colin's foot, making him cry out in pain.
"You deserve to lose him!" Colin glared back.
Stephanie said, "Mind your own business!"
After arguing with Colin for a bit, Stephanie looked over at Grace and Xavier. Grace had already stood up. "Xavier, I'm going to the restroom."
Xavier stood up, too. "Are you inviting me to go with you?"
Grace was shocked.
How could Xavier twist everything now? Where was the pure Xavier from before?
"That's not what I mean, I'm just letting you know." Grace grabbed her bag and walked towards the restroom.
Seeing Grace head to the restroom, Stephanie was delighted. 'What a great opportunity.'
She quickly sent a message, and soon, a man stood up and followed Grace towards the restroom.
This was the plan for tonight. It was the only chance Stephanie had found in days to catch Grace alone.
She had arranged for several men. She would stall Xavier, and she didn't believe Grace could handle them.
When Grace's clothes were stripped off and she was tied up and thrown in the restroom, Stephanie would bring a group of people over to see Grace's embarrassment.
Just thinking about that scene made Stephanie ecstatic.
'This time, it's foolproof!' Stephanie thought and walked towards Xavier.
"Xavier." Her eyes were filled with pitifulness. "Have you seen that? I'm bullied by Grace."
Xavier's pupils contracted. Stephanie knew he didn't like the smell of perfume, so she hadn't worn any. But Xavier still felt uncomfortable with her approaching.
"Isn't it you who provoked her?" Xavier said.
Stephanie said, "You haven't intervened just now, so you don't hate me that much, right?"
"I don't intervene because she wouldn't fall for your little tricks."
"Xavier, why are you so harsh to me? You won't even give me a chance. How do you know we can't work if you don't try? I don't care about your past with Grace. Xavier, for the sake of how much I like you, can you give some hope, just as a favor?"
"Xavier, as long as you're willing to give me a little bit of love, I can share you with Grace. I promise I won't cause her any more trouble." Stephanie begged.
Stephanie's tone was extremely humble. As long as Xavier was with her, she didn't mind sharing him with Grace.
