Chapter 396 The Montgomery Family in Chaos
"You are shameless!" Thomas grumbled.
Thomas had never met anyone as shameless as Patrick before!
Steven was too tired to keep arguing with Patrick. "I've had the hospital checked out and reported to the cops. Do you really think your people will cover for you, or would they rather rot in jail? Patrick, have you thought about what happens when you mess with the Coleman family?"
Patrick had wanted to team up with the Colemans, but things took a turn, and now they were enemies.
But even now, Patrick wasn't scared. He hadn't made it this far by sheer luck.
"Look, I didn't do anything. If you don't believe me, go ahead and investigate," Patrick said.
"Why not check if you and Wendy are actually related by blood? Let's see if those rumors about Wendy being adopted are true!" Steven said coldly.
Patrick was so infuriating that even beating him up wouldn't be enough to vent their anger.
Steven waved his hand, and his guys moved in to take Patrick's blood sample.
Of course, Patrick fought back, and they took the chance to give him a good beating.
In the chaos, they even managed to break Patrick's nose.
Ryan tried to pull them away. "What are you doing? How dare you hit my dad!"
The guy hitting the hardest looked at Steven, and after Steven nodded, they started beating Ryan too.
Steven had brought a lot of people, and there were even more outside the Montgomery Mansion.
"Dad, Ryan, what are you doing? Don't go too far!" Wendy wanted to help but was scared of getting hurt herself. She didn't want her face messed up, so she just stood there, fuming.
Kelly, watching the scene, laughed, which only made Wendy angrier. Seeing Kelly laughing, Wendy found a target for her anger and slapped Kelly hard.
"This is all your fault, you bitch!" Wendy slapped Kelly's face fiercely.
Wendy thought if Kelly hadn't said she was upstairs, Steven and the others wouldn't have come to catch her, and none of this would have happened.
The more Wendy thought about it, the angrier she got. She kicked Kelly hard in the leg, and Kelly's eyes flashed with something before she fell to the ground.
"Wendy, a fake is a fake. What's the use of getting angry? If you have the guts, kick me to death!" Kelly deliberately provoked Wendy.
"You wanna die? I'll make it happen!" Wendy fell right into Kelly's trap and started kicking her hard.
Kelly deliberately exposed her belly to Wendy, and Wendy kicked her twice in the stomach.
Kelly's pregnancy had reached nearly eight months, yet with Wendy's forceful kick, she immediately began to bleed.
"My belly, my belly hurts so much!" Kelly exclaimed, clutching her abdomen.
Seeing the blood, Wendy's anger disappeared, replaced by fear.
"It wasn't me, it wasn't me." Wendy tried to explain, but everyone had clearly seen her kicking Kelly.
Kelly was carrying the only heir of the Montgomery family. If anything happened to the baby, Wendy would be finished.
"Kelly!" Ryan, hearing the commotion, quickly retreated from the chaos.
He was beaten black and blue, but he still cared about his son.
Steven ordered his men to stop.
"Call an ambulance, now!" Ryan shouted.
Steven didn't want anyone to die. Beating up Patrick was just a temporary fix. To really get back at him, Steven needed to hit him where it hurt—his company. Ideally, he wanted to strip Patrick of everything overnight.
Plus, they wanted to reunite with Grace as soon as possible, so Steven and his crew left.
Kelly was rushed to the hospital; it looked like the baby was in serious trouble.
Steven and Thomas headed back to the hotel. They were floored when they saw Grace.
"Grace, you really are our sister!" Thomas said, super excited.
Grace's face was a dead ringer for Elizabeth's from their memories.
Grace was surprised by the coincidence. She asked, "I heard from Scott that you went to get Wendy tested. What was the result?"
Steven replied, "Not a match. She's not our sister."
Grace said, "Patrick might have messed with the results. Since your people are here, can we do another test? Even though Scott and Grandpa think I'm the one you're looking for, I want to be sure."
"Of course." Steven quickly called his men, and they did another test for him and Grace.
"Grace, this is for you. Kelly asked us to give it to you." Steven handed her a bottle.
Grace looked at it and gasped, "These are Mom's ashes!"
She didn't know why Kelly gave it to Steven, but she believed it wasn't fake.
To be sure, Grace decided to get it tested again. She planned to contact Dominic later, hoping he would still help her after she and Xavier separated.
While waiting, Steven filled them in on what happened with the Montgomery family.
Just mentioning Patrick made Thomas furious. He was usually a chill guy, but Patrick had really gotten under his skin.
Grace felt a bit of joy thinking about Patrick and Ryan getting beaten up. Too bad she missed the show.
Grace said, "Patrick is that kind of guy. He looks respectable but does all sorts of shady stuff behind the scenes. So, how did it end?"
"Kelly got kicked to the ground by Wendy. It looks serious; she might give birth early," Thomas said.
Grace asked, "Patrick tricked you. What are you planning to do?"
Steven replied, "The Montgomery family's company must have a lot of weak spots. Even if they don't, I can create some. I've already sent people to handle it. The hospital's forgery might involve a lot of people, and those who harm society need to be punished."
Grace added, "Can you spare Patrick's life for now? At least don't kill him yet. There's still a good show to watch."
If Patrick were completely gone, there'd be no one to watch Kelly's drama.
"What show?" Scott asked.
Grace looked at Evelyn's ashes and explained, "Ryan can't have kids. Kelly's baby isn't the Montgomery family's. The Montgomery family doesn't know this yet."
Scott's eyes widened. "No way! If Ryan thinks it's his only child, the Montgomery family will treat it like a treasure. Then, when they find out the baby isn't theirs, Patrick will be in utter despair. Fascinating!"
