Chapter 103 How Could Xavier Possibly Be Interested in Grace
Xavier's gaze shifted to Ryan, and the air seemed to chill instantly.
Ryan thought of the beautiful face of that woman, captivated by her deeply, disregarding Xavier's cold expression as he spoke of his own accord.
"Xavier, are you here alone? Where are you headed? I'll tag along with you." Ryan decided to follow Xavier. As long as he was with Xavier, he was sure to catch sight of that woman.
Xavier's lips parted, devoid of warmth as he uttered two words, "Get lost." Then, he completely ignored Ryan and continued walking ahead, with Ryan striding to keep up.
"Xavier, I came with Grace, but I never expected her to be so ruthless, leaving me behind and running off on her own. I have no idea what she did, leaving me stranded outside." Ryan spoke ill of Grace.
Growing more agitated as he spoke, Ryan continued, "Grace is full of tricks. I have no idea what spell she cast to enchant my father into insisting I marry her. A woman like her won't be liked by anyone unless some man has lost his mind to fancy her."
Xavier's steps halted, causing Ryan to stop involuntarily. Just as Ryan wondered why Xavier had stopped, he heard Xavier say, "Your mouth is so foul, did you forget to brush your teeth?"
Ryan fell silent; actually, he hadn't brushed his teeth. Since being thrown out until now, he hadn't even entered the room where his belongings, including his phone, were.
"I'll go brush in a bit. Have you had breakfast? How about calling your female companion over for a meal together?" Ryan suggested. "Don't worry, I wouldn't have any other thoughts even with your permission. It's mealtime, and I should eat."
Xavier stared at Ryan for two seconds before picking up his phone to make a call.
"Come over to the restaurant," Xavier said over the phone.
Ryan was thrilled. Was Xavier calling that woman over?
Even in his midnight dreams, Ryan thought of her face. It was the first time he had liked someone so much. Nothing in the world could compared to her. She was the most gorgeous being, perhaps God's most thoughtful gift. Just the thought of her made Ryan excited.
Grace was just about to leave when she received Xavier's call to come to the restaurant. She had already had breakfast since she reckoned the meal on table was prepared by Xavier. Nevertheless, Grace headed to the restaurant.
It was no longer early, and the restaurant was nearly empty, with only Xavier and Ryan seated. Grace remained silent. Seeing Ryan so early in the morning might have dampened her spirits.
Xavier savored his breakfast with aristocratic elegance, every move graceful. In contrast, Ryan was far from elegant.
As Grace approaching them, Ryan's expression changed to one of extreme dislike upon seeing her. "Why are you here? You must have known Xavier and I were having a meal here and deliberately came to reach me," Ryan remarked.
Grace must have followed him here intentionally, appearing before him and Xavier. Was she planning to complain again?
"Where did you stay last night? Did you sleep in the car? Is your luggage still in the car?" Ryan inquired.
Only when Grace was as miserable as he was could he feel a bit better.
However, Grace paid no attention to what Ryan said, her gaze fixed on Xavier, who was dining. Grace felt uneasy in the presence of Xavier, her legs trembling.
Xavier had behaved like a beast last night, whispering ambiguous words in her ear, constantly reminding her that Ryan was her fiancé, implying their relationship was improper. Xavier even hinted that Ryan might be watching them from outside and asked her how she planned to handle it.
Even though Grace was aware that Xavier was intentionally saying these things, she felt tense at that moment, remembering his heavy breathing near her ear.
With Ryan nearby, it seemed as if Xavier's words from the previous day had become a reality.
"I'm talking to you, why are you looking at Xavier?" Ryan said, displeased.
Grace withdrew her gaze, unable to fathom Xavier's intentions, deciding not to guess.
"Wasn't it Xavier who called me here?" Grace questioned.
Ryan didn't see any connection between Grace and the mysterious woman, not even considering it." Xavier, why did you call Grace over?"
Xavier raised his eyes, causing Ryan to falter.
"Xavier, I asked you to call your female companion over, the girl I saw at your place some time ago. Was she with you last night?" Ryan believed Xavier had been with that woman last night.
Grace flushed to red beside them. Whether it was the girl Ryan had seen at Xavier's place before or the one with Xavier last night, it was her.
Wiping his mouth with a napkin, Xavier said, "Take a good look. This is your future wife."
Glaring at Grace, Ryan retorted, "Stop joking. Who would marry that ugly Grace?"
Having finished his meal, Xavier stood up and before leaving, he said, "My companion has already been called over."
"Xavier, Xavier!" Ryan hurried after him. "I didn't mean Grace."
Grace understood that Xavier was upright, not hiding anything. It was just that Ryan was too foolish to believe it. Ryan had never really looked at Grace properly, nor did he realize she was the woman of his dreams.
Xavier's standards were much higher than Ryan's. If Ryan couldn't appreciate her, how could Xavier? Even if Ryan saw Grace and Xavier together, he would only think it was Grace's scheme, and Xavier wouldn't pay her any mind.
Grace shook her head and left the restaurant. Since arriving yesterday, she had been taken to her room and had been working inside, not taking the time to explore the estate.
The air at the estate was fresh, the weather pleasant with a clear blue sky and no urban noise, just pure beauty.
Behind the estate were mountains to explore, providing a good workout and a giant Ferris wheel at the mountain peak. Facing the sea, there was a vast beach where she could stroll.
Grace chose to head to the beach, where the endless sea met the blue sky, offering a unique charm. Perhaps a walk there would inspire her to develop new fragrances.
She rarely took the time to appreciate her surroundings like this. As she prepared to move forward, a car suddenly accelerated toward her, seemingly aiming to collide. At that speed, if Grace were hit, it would be life-threatening.
