Chapter 394 Returned the Other Half of the Ashes to Grace
"Where's Patrick?" Steven barged in, looking all serious.
"Mr. Montgomery isn't here," Kieran stepped in front of Steven.
"When's he coming back? We can wait, or just call Wendy out," Steven's icy tone was pretty intimidating.
Kieran, seeing Steven and his crew's aggressive vibe, could only say, "Miss Montgomery isn't here either, Mr. Coleman. Maybe you should come back later. I'll let you know when they're back, but it might be a while."
Just then, Kelly came down the stairs, "Isn't Wendy in her room? I just saw her. Are you looking for Wendy? Kieran, go get her and tell her her brothers are here."
Kelly was stirring the pot on purpose; she loved causing trouble.
Seeing Wendy's post-surgery eyes and the way Patrick and Wendy were acting, she knew what was up.
For Kelly, disrupting the Montgomerys was motivation enough, and the Montgomery family always looked down on her. She would relish their humiliation.
Kieran stayed quiet.
"If she's home, why don't you call her down?" Steven had already led the others inside and plopped down on the sofa.
His long legs crossed, giving off a powerful vibe.
The room, which was spacious before, now felt crowded with everyone there.
Kieran, scared out of his wits, barely dared to breathe and felt he had no choice but to go upstairs to get Wendy.
Kelly walked down step by step, holding something in her hand, "Mr. Coleman, I'm Grace's friend."
She'd been on her way to the airport when Grace called about Wendy. Sensing a brewing drama, she'd returned.
Kelly continued, "I haven't seen Grace in a while. I have something for her but never got the chance to give it to her. If you see Grace, could you pass it on for me?"
With that, Kelly handed over the item.
It was a glass bottle filled with some powdery stuff.
"What is this?" Steven asked.
Kelly replied, "These are Grace's mother's ashes."
"What?" Steven and Thomas were stunned.
Kelly went on, "Patrick dug up Grace's mom's grave to force her into marrying Ryan. I took the ashes from Patrick for Grace, but I was scared Grace would come after me when she dealt with the Montgomery family, so I only gave her half. This half, please give it to Grace for me and tell her I'm sorry."
As she spoke, Kelly's eyes got all teary, playing the victim.
She was smart and had figured out a lot. If she gave the ashes back to Grace now, Grace might still protect her.
Steven gripped the bottle tightly but didn't dare squeeze too hard, afraid it would break.
Even though they were prepared, knowing Elizabeth might be gone, finding a long-lost relative only to end up with a handful of ashes was still heartbreaking.
Steven's eyes were bloodshot as he stared at the ashes that were Elizabeth's.
And Patrick had even dug up their aunt's grave to get them!
How could they forgive someone as crazy as Patrick?
Steven and Thomas clenched their fists, the veins on their hands bulging.
Upstairs, Kieran knocked on Wendy's door. "Ms. Montgomery, the Coleman family is downstairs. They want to see you."
Wendy was freaking out. "Didn't I tell you? Tell them I'm not here!"
She had just peeked from the stairs and saw a bunch of Coleman family members. This was definitely trouble.
And with Patrick gone, she had no clue how to handle them. If they found out she was a fake and not really part of the Coleman family, she was toast.
"But Mrs. Montgomery just went downstairs and told them you were here," Kieran added.
"That damn witch!" Wendy clenched her fists. Kelly was such a snake!
Wendy refused to go downstairs. Soon, another servant came up, "Ms. Montgomery, Mr. Coleman said if you don't come down, he'll come up himself. He just wants to do a test with you."
The servants were shaking in their boots. They were just regular folks, and this could get ugly for them.
"I'm not going down, never!" Wendy was even more terrified after hearing that.
Soon, the Coleman family's bodyguards came up with the room key, courtesy of Kelly.
"What are you doing? This is the Montgomery Mansion!" Kieran reminded them.
"As long as Miss Montgomery comes out, we won't make things difficult. Otherwise..." The bodyguards looked pretty menacing.
The servants naturally tried to protect the Montgomery family members, but soon, Kieran and the others were pulled away by the bodyguards.
They unlocked the door, and Wendy inside was panicking, "What are you doing? This is my room!"
"Let go of me, let go of me! I'll tell my dad, I'll call the cops!"
But no matter how much Wendy struggled, she was no match for them. Soon, she was dragged downstairs.
Her eyes were filled with fear, and seeing them, Steven only felt disgusted.
Wendy couldn't compare to Grace at all. Grace, though plain-looking, had very expressive eyes, bright and lively, while Wendy's eyes were dull, the difference obvious at a glance.
"I thought you weren't here." Steven's voice was icy cold.
His gaze on Wendy almost made her knees buckle.
Kelly, watching the drama unfold, was very satisfied.
"Steven, I was just sleeping and didn't know you were here. They hurt me. What do you want?"
"Don't call me Steven. You know whether I'm your family or not. The truth will come out soon," Steven said coldly.
He waved his hand, and someone stepped forward, grabbing Wendy and starting to collect her blood.
Wendy struggled, "Stop it."
But her struggles were in vain, and soon they had a sample.
Blood tests were the most accurate, and the testers were their men, flown in from Aetheria.
If Wendy was their sister, they would apologize and compensate.
Patrick and Wendy, who deceived the Coleman family, would face their wrath!
"How long will it take?" Steven asked.
"Mr. Coleman, we'll expedite the process. It might take half an hour."
"Good," Steven nodded.
In half an hour, the results would be out, but they already knew the truth in their hearts.
Wendy was not their sister; Grace was.
It seemed destined, like their reunion lunch, which ended up being with Grace, not Wendy.
And they had missed many chances with Grace.
