Chapter 417 Drugging Grace with Aphrodisiacs
Hayden had been gone for a while before he finally came back.
When he did, he looked pale and kind of sorry.
"Sorry, Ms. Lewis," he said. "Had some issues at home that held me up."
Grace replied, "No problem. Did you get everything sorted out? We're almost done here. If you need to handle your stuff, go ahead."
Hayden shook his head. "Nah, it's all good now. Just minor stuff. Let's keep going, Ms. Lewis. Working with someone as young as you makes me feel younger."
"To our successful collaboration, Ms. Lewis, let's have another drink."
He raised his glass, and after clinking glasses with Grace, he refilled her drink himself.
As he poured, Hayden said, "Ms. Lewis, let's have a bit more."
"Mr. Long, I can do it myself. Besides, there are waiters here." Grace tried to stop him. She was always careful when out, preferring to pour her own drinks and not letting others touch her glass.
"Alright, you can do it yourself. Ms. Lewis, you're too polite."
While everyone was focused on Hayden and the drink, he discreetly dropped a small pill into the soup in front of Grace.
Hayden sat back down, and Grace, pretending to be clumsy, dropped her glass on the floor and asked the waiter for a new one.
Even though she didn't think Hayden would harm her, Grace still believed in being cautious.
Grace and Hayden continued their conversation. Hayden said, "Ms. Lewis, have some soup. The soup here is really good. I'll have another serving."
Grace had already tried the soup and found it quite good. She had been picky about food lately, often feeling nauseous, but this soup was quite refreshing.
Grace picked up her spoon and tasted it again. Seeing Grace drink the soup, Hayden finally relaxed.
He silently apologized to Grace in his heart. He had no choice; Daniel from Oakworth had his eyes on Grace.
Daniel was not someone a small company like his could afford to offend.
Hayden didn't want to do this, but Daniel had threatened to bankrupt his company today if he didn't comply. Daniel had also investigated him and implied that his eighteen-year-old daughter could be in danger. Hayden couldn't risk his company and his daughter.
Although Grace had bodyguards outside, Daniel claimed he could handle them.
Hayden felt guilty, but he still went through with it.
Soon, Grace began to feel changes in her body. She hadn't drunk any alcohol, but she felt a growing heat.
That heat was not unfamiliar to Grace.
She had been drugged with an aphrodisiac by Tom before. She trusted Hayden and had been cautious all night, but she still fell into the trap.
Grace stood up. "Hayden, what did you do to me?"
She had trusted Hayden and came to discuss cooperation with him.
Hayden immediately knelt on the ground, kowtowing to Grace. "Ms. Lewis, please don't blame me. I was forced. Mr. Gunter has his eyes on you and threatened me with my daughter. I had no choice."
Hayden cried and kept kowtowing.
Grace didn't know who Mr. Gunter was, but she knew she had to leave immediately.
Her bodyguards were outside; she could leave!
Grace opened the door to the private room, only to find Daniel standing outside instead of her bodyguards.
Daniel stood there with an excited grin, flanked by his goons. His hair was graying, and he had dark circles under his eyes. He looked like he was practically drooling with excitement.
"Grace, if I had known you were this beautiful, I wouldn't have wasted my time with Madison," Daniel said, his smile making his wrinkles bunch up and his eyes squint into slits. He looked downright creepy.
Grace glared at him. "Daniel, so it was you!"
"Yeah, it's me, Grace. You have no idea. My junk hasn't worked in over thirty years, but the moment I saw you, it stirred. You're a real treasure. Don't worry, I've got a room ready. I'll be gentle and make sure you enjoy it," Daniel said, leering at her.
Just a glance earlier hadn't given him a clear look, but now that he saw Grace clearly, Daniel felt a surge of heat. She was stunning, like an innocent and confused angel.
Daniel had seen countless beauties, but none compared to Grace. Before seeing her, he couldn't have imagined someone so beautiful existed. He had seen Grace before, but she looked different then. Luckily, he had seen her true appearance now, or he would have missed out.
Grace was his prey tonight; she couldn't escape his grasp!
Grace glared at Daniel. The aphrodisiac was taking effect quickly. Her legs were unsteady, and she clung to the wall. Even if she had to jump out of the window, she wouldn't let a creep like Daniel have his way with her!
"Get out of my way!" Grace tried to run, but Daniel's goons blocked her. She had no chance to escape.
She tried to call for help, but Daniel ordered, "Take her to the room upstairs. I'll go prepare."
He wanted more tools to have a good time with Grace tonight. His goons grabbed Grace's hands and dragged her away, her phone falling to the ground. No one would disturb them tonight. The thought excited Daniel.
Hayden was still kneeling. He got up and said, "Mr. Gunter, you promised to spare my daughter if I drugged Grace's food."
Daniel sneered, "Do you really think I'd be interested in your daughter?"
Xavier's car was parked outside the restaurant. He knew Grace was here for a meeting and wanted to pick her up. But Xavier didn't go in, fearing Grace wouldn't want to see him.
Xavier smoked two cigarettes in the car and then saw Hayden coming out of the restaurant. Xavier had investigated and knew this was Grace's business partner tonight. If Hayden was out, where was Grace?
Seeing no sign of Grace behind Hayden and noticing Hayden's uneasy expression, Xavier immediately got out of the car and walked over. He asked Hayden, "Where's Grace?"
Xavier's expression was fierce, and Hayden was startled by his sudden appearance. Hayden asked, "Who are you?"
"Where's Grace?" Xavier roared, and Hayden was terrified. He wasn't a bad person by nature. If Daniel hadn't threatened him, he wouldn't have done this. Thinking about what he had done, Hayden was already tormented. Now, with Xavier's questioning, he quickly said, "It's Daniel. He drugged Grace with an aphrodisiac and took her away."
Hearing this, Xavier's heart sank, and his eyes turned cold. "What did you say?"
