Chapter 446 Mr. Montgomery, Are You Serious?
When Grace woke up again, she found her bed already empty.
Waking up to see Xavier in the morning felt like a dream. Maybe it really was a dream.
Xavier didn't even know where he was now, so how could he possibly be at her house?
Grace got out of bed, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and then changed her clothes before coming out.
Today, she had work to do and two meetings to attend, so she had to go to the office.
As soon as Grace opened the door, she smelled the aroma of food from outside. She was stunned. Was Angela cooking for her?
Walking towards the kitchen, Grace called out, "Angela, is that you?"
When she saw Xavier, Grace realized that seeing him in the morning was not an illusion.
Xavier was really at her house!
"You're awake. I just finished cooking. Go wash your hands."
Xavier was wearing an apron and holding a plate. Seeing Xavier cooking himself felt like a dream to her.
"Why haven't you left yet? How did you get in?"
"I came in through the door." Xavier placed the food on the table.
"Get out of my house right now. This is trespassing, and I can call the police!"
Xavier didn't seem to take Grace's words to heart and pushed her towards the dining table. "Eat first."
"Did you hear what I just said? I'm not joking. I will really call the police!"
Xavier said, "Eat first, then you can scold me. I'm willing to listen."
Grace was silent.
Xavier was crazy, coming over just to get scolded.
"I'm not eating. Get out of my house right now."
Xavier said, "I'll leave if you eat."
"I'm not hungry. Xavier, don't you understand what I'm saying? This only makes me dislike you more!"
"Fine, I'll leave now. But it would be such a waste to throw all this food away. Can you eat just a little bit?"
"I'm not eating. Your cooking is terrible."
Xavier indeed hadn't cooked much. Although he could cook, his skills might not be that great.
"Then I'll order takeout for you. I'll cook for you again once I've improved my skills." Xavier untied his apron.
Only then did Grace notice two red spots on the back of Xavier's hand, possibly from burns.
He looked at Grace a few more times before leaving.
After Xavier left, Grace sat at the table, looking at the breakfast spread. She didn't know how long Xavier had spent making it, but he had definitely put in effort.
She picked up the utensils and took a small bite of the breakfast Xavier made. The taste hadn't changed; it was still not very good.
But Grace continued to eat bite by bite. The baby in her belly was amazing; usually, it is so picky, but not this time. Maybe the baby knew Xavier made it.
Grace usually had a small appetite and would be full after a few bites, but today she ate quite a lot. After all, Xavier had made so much.
After finishing breakfast, Grace went to the office and had a video conference with Lily and the others.
Although the company had been established for less than a year, Grace already had goals and a blueprint in mind. This year's goal was to make Iris known worldwide.
They had already hired many people, the factory was constantly expanding, and by the end of the year, they had stores in every city across the country. They had become the largest fragrance company in the country, and Iris was no longer a small studio.
Lily and the others received substantial year-end bonuses during the New Year, so they were even more motivated this year.
They didn't need much encouragement from Grace; they had many ideas and had already made plans, so Grace didn't have to worry too much.
Moreover, Lily had learned a lot from working with Grace. She was very grateful to Grace; otherwise, how could a fresh graduate like her achieve so much?
While Grace was busy with meetings, Xavier returned to The Bameran Villa.
Behind him was a truckload of fresh vegetables and meat.
Kieran saw these things and was momentarily confused.
"Mr. Montgomery, if you want to eat something, you can just tell us. We can get it for you."
"No need. You don't have to cook for me this afternoon."
Kieran: "What?"
While Kieran was still confused, he saw Xavier enter the kitchen.
Kieran rubbed his eyes. Something big was happening. Xavier was actually going to cook himself!
Kieran and the chef were terrified. "Mr. Montgomery, if there's something we didn't do well, please let us know. Please don't do this. If I lose my job, my whole family will starve. Mr. Montgomery..."
"Come here and teach me how to make this dish."
Xavier directed the chef to come over. He was determined to improve his cooking skills because of Grace's comment that his cooking was terrible.
He knew his cooking was mediocre, something he had learned as a child. After leaving Skigeth for Oakworth, he had been too busy to cook.
Now, returning to the kitchen, he was determined to learn properly.
"Mr. Montgomery, are you serious?"
"Stop talking and come here."
Xavier had bought so many ingredients to learn.
He could master business matters quickly, so he believed cooking shouldn't be that hard.
The chef finally came over and started teaching Xavier step by step.
Xavier spent the whole day in the kitchen, making many dishes. Many of the staff at The Bameran Villa had the chance to taste Xavier's cooking, which was not very good.
It wasn't inedible, just not very tasty.
Xavier made dish after dish, and the staff at The Bameran Villa became his taste testers.
Finally, Xavier managed to prepare two dishes that tasted decent. He packed them into a lunchbox, got into his car, and drove to Grace's office.
Some people at Grace's company had seen Xavier before. It wasn't a secret that Xavier and Grace were a couple.
The staff didn't know about Grace and Xavier's breakup, so when Xavier arrived, the receptionist asked who he was looking for.
Xavier said, "Grace."
The receptionist was excited. "You must be Ms. Lewis's boyfriend. You're so handsome. But Ms. Lewis is busy right now. You can wait for her in the lounge."
The receptionist led Xavier inside, but instead of going to the lounge, he stood outside the conference room, listening to the meeting inside.
He knew that Grace had always been a very thoughtful person with a strong sense of logic, knowing exactly what to do next. The rapid development of Iris was not only due to the quality of Grace's perfumes and fragrances but also her strategic decisions.
When Grace established the factory and handled all the processes herself, it showed her determination. Now, her goal was to expand overseas and make the brand as renowned as international big names, gaining global recognition.
Standing outside, listening to Grace's meeting, Xavier smiled.
The once business-illiterate Grace was now becoming a big shot. He felt a strange sense of pride, like a parent proud of their child's achievements.
