Chapter 509 What Marriage Registration?

After meeting Jared, Grace called Steven.

Steven said, "I don't know much about what happened with Elizabeth back then. I know that Grandpa really disliked Jared. We were polite to Jared, but Grandpa was always unhappy whenever he saw him."

"He hasn't gotten married all these years, and I haven't heard of any women around him. His feelings for Elizabeth seemed genuine, but what happened between them, I'm not sure. Grandpa doesn't know either."

"So, what kind of person is he? Is he a good person, or is he more obsessive, like Patrick?" Grace asked.

She didn't know Jared well and couldn't tell.

"Jared has done very well in business over the years. He has a good business mind. It's hard to say about his personality. He handles himself well, and at least the outside world speaks highly of him. It seems only Grandpa doesn't like him."

But after seeing so much, Grace was a bit scared.

Patrick was a good example, a famous philanthropist in Skigeth, and look what happened.

Anyway, she decided to be more cautious.

"Since Grandpa doesn't like him, I'll try to avoid contact with him."

"If he knows about your existence, I don't think he'll avoid you. Even if he doesn't pester you, he might want to see you more often. Did he say you were his child or something?"

"He did say that. He said he had a relationship with Mom, and if you do the math, I would be his child. But I don't know if it's true or not."

"It doesn't matter whether you are or not. You are a child of the Coleman family. With the Coleman family behind you, he can't do anything. As long as you don't want to, no one can force you."

Grace laughed, "Steven, you're so good to me!"

She had always envied Angela for having a brother. Although the Turner family didn't treat her well, Omari was very good to her.

Grace had always wanted a brother, and now she had one, actually three.

"You're my sister. Isn't it natural for me to be good to you?" Steven said.

Grace chuckled softly. This is the confidence that comes from having family!

Grace also told Xavier about this, and Xavier told her not to bother with Jared.

He also said, "If Jared gives you a hard time, come to me."

"You sound just like Steven," Grace commented.

It seemed like powerful people surrounded her, and she was just a small figure.

So, she had to work hard to rise up; otherwise, how could she compete with these big shots?

In fact, Grace's career had been soaring recently. Not to mention, her Iris business was expanding, and her investment company had even started to get on track. The projects she invested in while learning about investments were now making money, and she was earning a lot.

"Really? So do you like him more or me?"

"How can that be the same? Are you jealous of Steven?" Grace thought it was completely incomparable.

Steven was family, and Xavier was the one she liked!

She could hear Xavier's light laughter over the phone, and she could even feel his breath through the call.

Grace quickly hung up the phone. They couldn't talk anymore, or they would get off track again, and she wouldn't be able to work for half a day.

Soon it was time for Angela to have dinner with the Ross family. Angela also called Scott, "I think it might get chaotic. Just in case, can I borrow some of your people? They can wait outside the restaurant. If I don't come out after a certain time, let them rush in. I'm afraid the Ross family and the Turner family might team up to teach me a lesson!"

After all, Angela was going to do something big today, and her safety was the most important thing. She couldn't afford to be careless.

"Okay," Scott agreed.

With Scott's assurance, Angela went to the appointment with peace of mind.

The Ross family had booked a luxurious private room at the Skigeth Hotel.

Angela wasn't early, and by the time she arrived, most people were already there.

The Ross family parents, the Turner family parents, Zander, Zander's children, and even Edith were there, probably to watch the show.

"Angela, how could you be late to such an important occasion and keep the elders waiting? That's not appropriate," Edith was the first to speak.

It seemed like she was scolding Angela, but in reality, she was making everyone unhappy. Angela wasn't really late, just the last to arrive. But Edith's words made Angela seem disrespectful.

Angela said, "You're certainly more diligent, arriving so early. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was your wedding."

"Angela!" Ainsley scolded with a stern face, "Do you know what occasion this is? Watch your words!"

"Of course, I'm speaking human language. What, you don't understand human language?" Angela smiled brightly, looking quite playful.

She took the only empty seat next to Zander, not caring what that position implied.

Ainsley was furious but held it in because of the occasion.

"Angela isn't usually like this. Please don't mind her."

Angela sneered. Ainsley was really anxious.

She poured herself a glass of water, not in a hurry. The show was beginning.

"I didn't think much of your family, but my son likes Angela, and he doesn't make it easy for me. As long as the two kids are happy, we have no problem," Echo said, clearly disdainful of the Turner family, but didn't say much.

After all, she knew Zander's situation well.

He appeared to be in his second marriage, but he had actually been divorced three times.

Even if Angela was added to the mix, it didn't matter. If Zander didn't settle down, they could divorce and remarry again.

The Ross family had plenty of power and didn't care about this.

Ainsley was also annoyed by Echo's disdain, but she kept smiling on the surface.

"I understand. We'll teach Angela well. The wedding date is set, so when do you think they should register the marriage?"

"Zander is fine with any time. It's up to Angela."

Echo looked over, not taking Angela seriously at all. She had seen many women like Angela.

Angela pretended to be shocked, "Marriage registration, what?"

"Of course, going to City Hall to register the marriage," Ainsley said.

At this point, Angela was even more surprised, "I already registered my marriage. Mom, do you need the divorce papers?"

"What divorce papers? Didn't you say she hadn't been married?" The Ross family was also unhappy.

Ainsley's face changed, "What are you talking about?"
