Chapter 193 I Don't Want Money, I Want You

Kieran was about to call Xavier, but Grace stopped him.

"Don't bother him. I'll just wait here," she said.

If Xavier was busy, it wouldn't be good to interrupt.

Grace sat in the living room and picked up a book. It was about futuristic technology, probably showcasing DG Group's latest innovations.

Even though she didn't fully get it, she found it impressive.

DG Group was a big deal, leading in tech, lifestyle, and medical research. They were really pushing the country's progress.

Grace admired their work, as shown in the books.

She got lost in reading and didn't notice Xavier come in.

Time flew by until a voice snapped her out of it. "Are you interested in technology?"

Grace turned to see Xavier behind her. He was still in his well-tailored suit, looking tired.

"I was just browsing," she said, putting the book back.

Grace was usually too busy to dive deep into her studies. If she had the chance in the future, she would try to learn more.

"When did you get here? Why didn't Kieran call me?" Xavier asked.

Kieran was right behind him. Grace quickly said, "I told Kieran not to. You were probably busy, and I didn't want to disturb you."

Xavier nodded. "Have you eaten?"

"Yeah, I had barbecue with Angela."

"Then keep me company while I eat," Xavier said, heading to the dining room.

Grace followed him.

The table was set with an exquisite meal.

Grace sat next to Xavier, eyeing the food. "So, this is your usual fare," she remarked.

Xavier quipped, "What do you think I should be eating?"

"Whatever you like," Grace said, thinking his meal was pretty simple.

"Really? Now that you mention it, I think you're right. But it's late. I'm not going to wake the chef. Why don't you make a suitable dinner for me?"

"Okay." Grace thought it was a good chance to soften Xavier up before asking for a favor later. At least, make sure to cheer him up a bit before he lays into her.

"Where's the kitchen?" she asked.

Xavier pointed, "Over there."

The kitchen was huge, bigger than her whole apartment. Even if dozens of people had a party in there, it wouldn't feel crowded.

She opened the fridge, finding it well-stocked. Considering the late hour and Xavier's sensitive stomach, she decided on a light tomato-based pasta.

She quickly prepped the ingredients. As they cooked, a delicious aroma filled the kitchen, promising a tasty meal.

Grace soon had a fragrant bowl of tomato pasta ready. She placed it in front of Xavier. "I kept it light; it's not good to eat too much before bed."

Xavier grabbed the utensils, the aroma making his mouth water. He'd tasted Grace's cooking before and knew it would be good.

Even at fancy restaurants, Xavier usually just sampled a few bites, preferring quality over quantity. But this pasta smelled too good to resist.

He twirled some pasta and took a bite. The taste was amazing, beats out any expensive meal he'd had, even though it was just a simple bowl of pasta.

Xavier quickly finished the pasta, and Grace poured him a glass of water.

Grace was about to clean up, but Xavier stopped her. "Leave it. Someone will handle it tomorrow."

Grace walked behind Xavier. "Mr. Montgomery, you must be tired. How about a shoulder massage?"

As she said, Grace placed her hands on Xavier's shoulders and started massaging, Xavier stayed alert. Grace wasn't usually this considerate without a reason. She must be plotting something sneaky.

Finally, Xavier asked, "What do you need from me this late?"

Grace could tell he was in a good mood. She asked, "Xavier, are you really giving me shares of Montgomery Group?"

Xavier's lips twitched. He knew it was about the shares.

"The shares are yours now. If you want to transfer or sell them, it's up to you. Mason will speed up the process, and it should be done in a couple of days," Xavier explained.

Normally, transferring shares could take up to six months, but with Mason's help, it would be quick.

Grace nodded. "Thank you for your generosity."

She then took out a small box from her bag. And she continued, "Xavier, this is the gift you gave me last time. I looked it up, and it's too valuable. I can't accept it."

Xavier recognized the box; it was the pair of earrings. His face darkened as Grace returned them.

Before he could speak, Grace explained, "Xavier, you said it was just a casual gift, but over ten million dollars is too much. We're not related, so you don't need to give me such things."

She didn't want to misunderstand his intentions, like he was trying to buy her favor with expensive gifts. It made her feel that Xavier was keeping her as a mistress.

"I know you said gifts shouldn't be returned, but I can't accept it without feeling uneasy. How about I buy it from you at market price?" Grace suggested.

"Do you think I need that money?" Xavier's eyes turned cold.

"Of course not, but I can't take this gift with a clear conscience." Grace replied, looking conflicted.

"Fine, if you insist on an exchange, I can accommodate you, but I don't want money," Xavier said, his eyes locking onto hers.

"What do you want then?" Grace asked in confusion.

In the next moment, Xavier's arm wrapped around Grace's waist, lifting her onto the table.

He positioned her on a clean spot and leaned in.

"You." Xavier replied in a deep, tempting voice.
