Chapter 61 Booking a Room, Accompanying Mr. Gunter

Grace thought that after Zach came out, he would cause her trouble, but after two days of silence, she began to sense that he might not take any action at all.
That day, after Grace finished her busy work, she drove back home.
Every time she went back, she would pass by that hotel.
Although Xavier no longer lived there, Grace couldn't help but take a few more glances at the hotel every time.
This time, Grace caught sight of a familiar acquaintance.
‘Zach, what is he doing here?’ Grace parked her car near the hotel and walked into the lobby.
Grace heard Zach's voice. He came here to book the most luxurious presidential suite and even inquired if the staff could decorate the room more romantically.
Grace listened with a furrowed brow. What does Zach want to do?
The most luxurious presidential suite should be the one Xavier booked before.
Although Grace only stayed there for two nights, she didn't want Zach to lie on that bed and have sexual relations with someone else.
While others may have booked the room, it cannot be Zach.
Despite the likelihood of Zach confronting her now that she had shown up, she took it in stride. "Zach, still got money for a room?"
Zach turned around and became fierce instantly when he saw Grace. "Grace, how dare you show up in front of me? I no longer have a daughter like you. Get the hell out of here!"
If it weren't for Grace, how could he have been locked up for several days?
If Grace agreed, the Reed family's funds would come in, and he wouldn't have to do this for money!
Who would willingly permit their Honey to accompany Mr. Gunter?
That's an old man in his sixties or seventies!
"What are you booking the room for?"
"That's none of your business! Now get out!" This issue was a stain on the family's honor; how could he dare let Grace catch wind of it?
Should this become public knowledge, he would be disgraced for having his cherished one engage in intimate encounters with another.
Zach's defensiveness only deepened Grace's suspicion that there was more to the story.
With determination, Grace declared, "I'll take this room."
She was aware that the room was expensive, costing a six-figure sum per night. Grace had hesitated for a moment when she stayed alone last time. But now, she booked the room without any hesitation.
No matter what, she couldn't let Zach have this room.
"Grace! Are you intentionally opposing me?"
It's not like Zach hasn't had people go after Grace since he got out of detention. It's just that none of them have been successful.
Combined with the issues at the company, Zach became agitated.
"You're overthinking it. I'm just here to book a room. Please help me reserve that room. Thank you," Grace said, handing over her credit card.
She knew she might spend a lot of money, but she didn't hesitate for a moment.
The staff on the other side helped to check. "I'm sorry, miss, but someone is currently staying in that room."
"Someone is staying?" Grace realized that she had indeed acted impulsively without finding out if anyone was staying in that room.
"When will they check out?" Grace asked.
The staff shook their head. "A guest has booked this room for a long term, and there's no news of them checking out yet."
Such an expensive presidential suite had mostly been empty before.
But suddenly, a big shot directly reserved it for a long period.
It seemed like the influential person hadn't stayed there in a long time, but the room had remained unoccupied.
Of course, these were all internal hotel information that she couldn't disclose.
"Alright, I understand, thank you."
Since that was the case, Grace felt relieved.
She turned around and walked away without looking at Zach.
"Grace!" Zach cursed and wanted to catch up with her.
The staff there asked, "Sir, are you still booking a room?"
Only then did Zach remember his own business. He didn't chase after Grace but came back to book a room.
The Bameran villa.
Xavier absorbed the briefing on Skigeth's latest developments, delivered by his aide. Every detail, significant or trivial, about Skigeth lay at his fingertips.
There had been some disagreements among the shareholders within the Montgomery Group recently. In recent years, due to the strength of their competitors, the Montgomery Group has encountered more problems. Patrick was also anxious to attract investments and wanted Xavier's help, so he had come to him frequently these past few days.
But Xavier had not gone to see him because the problems within the Montgomery Group were actually caused by Xavier.
Although Xavier looked down on the Montgomery Group, he had made a promise when his mother died that he would make the Montgomery family pay a price and seize everything from the Montgomery Group.
Xavier also knew about the situation with the Lewis Group. He knew Zach was currently at a dead end.
He heard that Daniel Gunter was also coming to Skigeth these days. Daniel did have some influence in Betaqule, but it was all bluff and bluster.
This person was fond of playing with women, especially young ones, and even liked to have pseudo-daughters. However, the actual nature of his relationships with these pseudo-daughters was unclear.
His health had been deteriorating for years, and his sexual performance was no longer satisfactory, especially at his age.
His subordinates also discovered that Zach's Honey seemed to be one of Daniel's pseudo-daughters.
Daniel's purpose for coming this time was likely not as innocent as it seemed.
Soon, another person entered the study.
"Mr. Montgomery, I found some information about Madam."
Xavier's eyes chilled as soon as his mother was mentioned, instantly creating a tense atmosphere in the study.
"Speak!"
In his impression, his mother was a strong person. No matter what happened or what grievances she faced, she always faced them with a smile.
Ever since he was a child, his mother had told him to keep living and that there was only hope if he continued to do so.
But afterward, his mother committed suicide.
He harbored a steadfast belief that his mother had been pushed to the brink by the Montgomery family, a torment so profound that it left her with no choice but to take her own life.
Members of the Montgomery family were all cold-blooded and ruthless. When he saw his mother, she was already a handful of ashes, and he didn't even get to see her for the last time.
His mother's ashes were not buried in the Montgomery family cemetery, and the family members didn't even want to bother finding a proper burial place for her. Xavier snatched the urn containing her ashes, but with all of his savings, he couldn't even buy a spot in the most remote cemetery.
In the end, someone helped him—that person might have just been a child. She put a bank card in an envelope, along with a letter saying that it was her own pocket money. She also told him the password for the bank card and wrote in the letter, telling him not to be sad.
With that money, Xavier buried his mother in a cemetery on the outskirts.
Later on, Xavier became wealthy but couldn't find that girl from before.
Seeing Xavier's cold expression, the trembling subordinate reported the findings.
"The last person seen with Madam before the incident was Evelyn Clark."
"Evelyn Clark has a daughter named Grace."
