Chapter 147 Are You Seducing Me?

Chapter 147 Are You Seducing Me?

Xavier sat directly across from Grace, his expression neutral, giving no indication of satisfaction or dissatisfaction. Grace felt a suffocating atmosphere in the air, especially with Stephanie sitting beside Xavier.

'Warning her to stay away from Omari, yet he brought Stephanie to dinner.' With this thought, Grace felt she had no reason to feel guilty.

"Didn't expect to see you here, Grace?" Stephanie spoke up. Her displeasure seemed to intensify with the presence of another person.

Grace nodded slightly. "Yeah, I just went to the restroom. I didn't expect you to come for dinner as well."

Stephanie ignored Grace and looked at the utensils the waiter brought over. "I wonder if these utensils are clean."

Angela, clearly disdainful of Stephanie, remarked, "If you dislike those so much, why not just drink dew instead? Don't you think so, Grace?"

Grace remained silent. She had no idea what had happened to cause Angela and Stephanie to be at odds.

"Angela, who are you referring to?" Stephanie wasn't naive; it was evident to her.

Xavier tapped his hand on the table, causing Stephanie, who was about to retort, to stop.

"Let's eat first. If Miss. Park thinks the utensils are unclean, you can ask the waiter to replace them," Omari interjected to ease the tension.

Stephanie replied, "Fine, for Xavier's sake, I'll make do."

Grace continued to eat her meal in silence, keeping her gaze fixed on her plate.

'Xavier dislikes crowds, so why did he join us at the same table? And what did he mean by those words in the dressing room? Grace couldn't figure it out.

Feeling the air thinning and heating up, discomfort settled in. Although sitting properly, she contemplated shifting her posture; crossing her legs might offer more comfort.

Unexpectedly, when she lifted her leg, it directly brushed against another long leg. The closest person to her was Xavier; she must have accidentally touched him!

Grace quickly retracted her leg, not daring to move. Soon after, her phone received a message from Xavier: [Seducing me?]

However, Grace's phone lay beside her, unnoticed.

Surprisingly, Xavier's leg inched closer. When Grace attempted to evade it, the leg persisted. Xavier, leveraging his long legs, behaved as he pleased beneath the table.

No matter where Grace placed her leg, Xavier would find it, his shoe's tip brushing against her calf. With so many people around, he was being so brazen. If someone dropped something and looked under the table, they would see him teasing Grace.

The others seemed unaware, but Grace's face quietly reddened. She shot a warning glance at Xavier, who appeared oblivious, his foot's movements unabated.

Grace, helpless, picked up her phone to message Xavier, only to see his earlier message. She was surprised. 'It was just an accidental touch. How did it become seducing him?'

Grace quickly replied: [Xavier, behave yourself!]

Xavier:[If it's not me you're seducing, then who? If it's Omari, you'll need to stretch your leg a bit further.]

Grace fell silent, texting.

[I just accidentally touched you. Do not misunderstand.]

Though Xavier and Grace exchanged no words, they conversed through their phones. Angela noticed and spoke up, "Grace, why are you on your phone during lunch?"

"Xavier, why are you on your phone too? Even if work is busy, you shouldn't be occupied during meals," Stephanie pouted.

Just then, the food arrived. Omari presented Angela with a plate of salmon. "Angela, you're so slim, have some more," he remarked.

"Thank you."

Omari also placed a plate of grilled steak in front of Grace. "Try this, it's your favorite."

Instantly, Grace felt a piercing gaze from across the table, making her scalp tingle. However, she chose to ignore Xavier and said, "Thank you."

"There's no need to be so polite with me," Omari continued to serve Grace. "You're even slimmer than Angela. Enjoy the food."

"No need." Grace's refusal was cut short by Xavier.

"Mr. Turner, taking such good care of Ryan's fiancée, makes me seem inattentive as his uncle."

With that, Xavier picked up a plate and served Grace some of her favorite foods, placing them in front of her. The food Omari had just arranged was moved aside.

"Who would have thought Mr. Turner knows Ryan's fiancée so well, even her favorite dishes," Xavier remarked casually. "Grace, have some more to eat."

Grace felt helpless. Xavier's actions made everyone's expressions turn subtle. Angela merely found Xavier's behavior odd. Omari felt awkward, as Grace indeed held the title of Ryan's fiancée, and Xavier's words were a reminder to him.

Stephanie, on the other hand, was consumed by jealousy, questioning why Grace was the one being served by Xavier.

Stephanie spoke up, "Xavier, I also like this."

Xavier glanced coldly at the table, saying, "Isn't it right in front of you?"

It was within arm's reach. Stephanie said, "I want to eat what you serve me."

She intended to act coy, thinking Xavier would surely respond. But he waved his hand, and a waiter immediately approached, "Sir, how can I help you?"

"This lady likes food served by others. Stay here and serve her whatever she wants," Xavier said.

Stephanie was furious as she thought, 'How could Xavier do this!'

Angela couldn't hold back and laughed out loud. Commenting inwardly, 'Xavier's move was brilliant; Stephanie needed a lesson. It seemed Xavier was quite upright.'

The waiter sincerely asked, fork in hand, "Miss, which one would you like?"

"Get lost!" Stephanie angrily shouted at the waiter, then turned to Xavier. "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you? Why can you serve Grace but not me?"

She felt extremely unbalanced. 'Why should only Grace get served?'

Grace suspected Xavier was deliberately causing trouble, knowing she didn't want any. He intentionally set her up with a big enemy to punish her for dining with Omari. She couldn't understand his intentions, or perhaps she never understood him at all.

Xavier's expression remained calm, his eyes unruffled. "If you were my niece-in-law, I'd serve you too."
