Chapter 119 She Watched the Sunrise, He Watched Her

When Grace woke up, she felt like there was a big furnace on her back, while a pair of hands wrapped around her waist, holding her in an embrace.
With Grace's head resting against a firm chest and Xavier's chin atop her head, they looked like a sweet couple, but nothing compared to what happened last night, which was even more ambiguous.

It seemed like it was still dark outside, Xavier hadn't turned on the lights until Grace lost consciousness last night, so he probably didn't even see her face.
While Xavier was still asleep, Grace needed to do her makeup quickly. She shifted slightly, attempting to gently disentangle Xavier's hand, but his grip was firm, requiring her to apply a bit of force to free herself.

Getting up from the bed, Grace's legs were trembling; Xavier had been too rough every time.
She endured the discomfort, made her way to the bathroom without noticing that Xavier behind her had opened his eyes.

Grace quickly put on some makeup, looking at herself in the mirror, being her usual appearance, thinking to herself, 'Xavier definitely didn't see her face last night.'

Upon her return, Grace noticed that Xavier was still asleep. Concerned that he may not have had proper rest in the past few days, she made the decision to allow him to sleep a little longer.

Naturally, Grace couldn't go back to bed to continue sleeping with Xavier, but staying in the room also made her feel a bit awkward.
It was only thirty past five, as the sky outside was already starting to brighten up.
Grace looked at the white clouds in the sky, illuminated by the rising sun, turning them orange.

"So beautiful," Grace sighed. "The sunrise must be equally stunning!"
Grace changed into her clothes directly, ready to go out for a walk, maybe grab breakfast on the way back, assuming Xavier would have left by then.
Grace quietly left the room without disturbing Xavier.

After Grace left, Xavier in the room got up, put on some clothes, quickly freshened up, and also left.

'Did Grace mentioned how beautiful the sunrise was?' With the thought, Xavier walked to the beach; it was the perfect time to watch the sunrise. The sky was deep blue, the orange sun wasn't glaring at all while it was already engulfing the blue sky.
Where the sea met the sky, a dazzling light momentarily shone through, the sea shimmering with layers of light beneath the waves.

Xavier almost instantly spotted Grace's figure in the crowd, standing over there, looking up.
She was dressed in sporty casual wear due to the chilly weather in the morning, her neck lifted under the sunlight, forming a perfect curve.

The sunrise was beautiful, but Xavier's gaze was fixed on Grace. He stood at a distance, watching Grace among the crowd instead of approaching her.

Grace took a picture of the beautiful sunrise and shared it on her social media.

Soon after, Angela saw the post and messaged Grace: [Did you go to watch the sunrise so early?]
Grace: [You're up early too.]
Angela: [I have work to do. Who did you go watch the sunrise with?]
Grace: [Of course, I went alone. Who else would go with me?]
Angela: [It's okay, I'll join you next time!]
Grace smirked as taping: [Sure!]

Meanwhile, Xavier, not far away, wondered who Grace was chatting so happily with.
But what did it matter to him? The sun was already up in the sky, so Xavier turned and left.
Although Xavier often woke up early at this time, it was his first time watching the sunrise, as he found it quite enjoyable and indeed very beautiful.

Grace only noticed that Xavier had left after she returned to the room from having breakfast at the restaurant and grabbing some takeout, realizing she would have to make the takeout her lunch.

Grace was someone who always sought revenge, especially when Jessica used her phone to message Xavier and lied to her about it.
However, before Grace could confront Jessica, Jessica took the initiative to confront her, bringing a group of people to corner Grace.

"Grace, did you steal something from Jessica?" Edith asked.

Jessica, accompanied by Edith and a few other women, approached, with Madison following behind, having heard about the situation and wanting to witness the drama.

Madison had never been fond of Grace, since Grace had upset so many people, who were to turn against her. How could she possibly miss it?

"Jessica had a diamond necklace, worth two million dollars, and it disappeared. You were the only one who visited Jessica yesterday. Did you take it?" Edith accused.
Edith's words were quickly echoed by others. "So Grace is a thief, for just two million dollars? Are you poor?"
"Grace's reputation is tarnished. I heard she's always stealing things from her sister, Madison."

At this point, Jessica spoke up, "Grace, I've always considered you a friend. If you liked it, you could have just asked me, I would have given it to you. Why resort to such shameful means?"
Without giving Grace a chance to speak, Jessica continued, "Since you took it, consider it a gift from me. Alright, everyone, let's go."
Jessica called for everyone to leave, effectively framing Grace for the theft.

Once everyone left, they would spread the rumor within their circles, tarnishing Grace's reputation as a thief.

"Wait!" Grace called out. She and Jessica were at odds since yesterday. She knew that Jessica, being proud and arrogant, wouldn't let this slide.
Jessica must have gone to the Peak Pavilion yesterday; otherwise, Xavier wouldn't have been so angry.
It was probably because of Xavier's harsh words that Jessica blamed Grace for everything.

"There are two things I need to clarify. Madison, you're here. Please tell everyone the truth. Have I ever stolen anything from you?" Grace asked.
Madison was about to speak but caught Grace's eye while Grace's lips touched, uttering just one name, which was only understood by Madison.

Grace was threatening Madison; if she lied, Grace would reveal her involvement with Daniel!
Madison clenched her fists tightly as she cursed Grace inwardly, saying, "She didn't."
"What?" Others looked at Madison in disbelief.
Wasn't it Madison who had just said Grace couldn't afford it, so she kept stealing from her?

Edith and Jessica also stared at Madison, Edith even glared at her, seemingly questioning her about the situation. They had already agreed with Madison to pin all the blame on Grace, whether it was about stealing or how Grace usually bullied Madison. They had planned to expose everything to everyone.

How come Madison suddenly changed her tune in front of Grace?
It was a slap in the face to Edith and Jessica!
