Chapter 89 Is Xavier praising her?

"Grace, what nonsense are you talking about!" Taylor stood up.
We are indeed going to sue, but the one being sued is you! My daughter has said that it was you who caused her to become like this. Stop pretending here. How could my husband harm my daughter? It's you who is envious of our Madison. You always find fault with Madison. You are just as malicious as your mother!
With a sharp "smack," Grace raised her hand, delivering a resounding slap across Taylor's face.
"I have said that no one can insult my mother." My mother is Grace's bottom line.
Taylor covered his face and said, "How dare you hit me! After all, I am your elder. You are completely disrespectful!"
She wanted to go hit Grace, but Grace pushed her away.
"Madison, having parents like that is truly sad. What's even more tragic is that you still think they are good people and treat you well. It's just unbelievably foolish.
"The injuries you've sustained are truly none of my concern. I stand here now advising you to contact the authorities for your protection, a gesture of solidarity as fellow women. Whether you choose to seek legal recourse or forgive the aggressor is beyond my involvement.
"As a grown individual, my only wish is that you won't rue the path you tread in the future."
With that said, Grace turned on her heel and departed.
She had already said what she needed to say. As for how to choose, that is Madison's own business.
Behind, Madison was thinking about what Grace had said. 'Was she going to call the police?'
"Madison, don't believe that Grace. She even dares to hit me. Mom and Dad are the people who love you the most in this world. How could they harm you? If you believe her, it would really break Mom's heart. Madison, tell Mom, what's really going on?"
Madison cried and told her all about what happened, and when Taylor heard it, she mentally cursed Zach eight hundred times.
"How could it be your foster grandpa? He must have been drunk and didn't realize it was you. This incident is not his fault. The individual who escorted you to the hotel is the true villain. Mother will certainly not let that person off lightly.
"You said she was working at the Grace store, so it must have been at Grace's command. Madison, rest assured, Mom will definitely help you seek revenge. Grace won't get away with this!"
"Thank you, Mom," Madison tightly hugged Taylor.
'Mom is right. How could she listen to Grace and doubt her dad?'
Grace went downstairs, and Zach was still downstairs.
Grace didn't even look at him and just left the Lewis family.
She was certain that Zach did this. Zach would definitely also advise Madison not to publicize these matters.
Anyway, Madison has already been told everything that needs to be said. Anyone with a bit of brain would know what to do.
Grace seated herself back in the car. Her tasks were left unattended, and she initially intended to return to the office to carry on with her duties.
However, glancing at the current hour, it was already ten o'clock, rendering any attempt at work completion futile. Contemplating the circumstances, Grace opted to retreat for a rest, reserving the tasks for tomorrow at the office.
As she prepared to ignite the engine, a familiar sight caught her eye in the distance—a vehicle that sparked a sense of recognition.
The person smoking outside the car appeared even more familiar to her.
Grace quickly got out of the car and ran over.
"Xavier? Are you here to see me?" Grace couldn't believe it. How could Xavier show up here?
She rubbed her eyes, feeling like she was dreaming.
Seeing Grace, Xavier stubbed out the cigarette in his hand. His tone, devoid of any emotion, asked, "Where's Ryan? Isn't he with you?"
Grace had almost forgotten about Ryan if Xavier hadn't mentioned him. "He must have returned long ago. Are you looking for Ryan?"
"Hmm." Xavier finally admitted.
Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to explain why he appeared here.
He received a call from Grace. After hearing what Grace said, he couldn't rest easy, so he came over.
Grace felt a bit confused. If Xavier wanted to find Ryan, why didn't he call him or go to the Montgomery family?
"I haven't been with him for a while. If you want to reach him, you'd better give him a call."
"No need, it's nothing crucial. I'll speak to him tomorrow."
Xavier looked at Grace. She had all her limbs intact and appeared to have emerged normally from the Lewis family.
"What happened?" Because Grace didn't explain too clearly over the phone.
"It's actually nothing much. Zach sold Madison for money. What angers me is that Zach, not to mention being a father, isn't even worthy of being called a decent human being."
"If I were a bit more attractive, would that mean I would be the one being sold?"
Xavier hesitated for a moment, and under the light, Grace seemed to have an extra layer of golden glow on her body.
She lowered her gaze, her eyelashes unusually long, her ordinary face filled with regret.
"Unfortunately, I arrived a step too late. Madison must have gone through a lot. Judging by her appearance, she probably didn't call the police."
'Without a doubt, if it weren't for Grace intentionally dressing down, just based on her stunningly beautiful face, Zach would have sold her eight hundred times,' Xavier recessively thought.
"Not everyone is as brave as you," Xavier spoke, his clear voice sounding particularly pleasant in the night.
Not everyone will be as generous as Grace, willing to help their enemies.
Grace was doing it for Madison's good, but Madison might not necessarily see it that way.
The perspective changes when the situation changes.
Grace paused for a moment and said, "Are you complimenting me?"
"Have you ever thought about what impact and consequences this matter would bring to you?"
Grace nodded slightly. She had thought about it. "I know, barging into Daniel's room like that, interrupting him, must have made him really angry. He might even come after me in the future."
"Regret nothing?"
Grace said, "If I don't go today, I will regret it. Just consider me being impulsive."
Xavier said, "If you know someone is going to cause trouble for you, then elevate your status so that no one can do anything to you."
Grace knew that what Xavier said was true.
When Xavier first arrived at the Montgomery family, he was easily bullied by everyone, but now, no one can help but address him as Mr. Montgomery.
"I will work hard."
Hopefully, one day, she could be like Xavier, too.
Xavier didn't say anything else and instead asked, "Have you eaten?"
"You haven't eaten yet?"
Although Grace took a few bites with Ryan, eating with Ryan never really whet her appetite, and the dishes were not what she loved to eat.
"No," Xavier said.
"Then, I haven't eaten either. I know a small restaurant with pretty good food. If Mr. Montgomery doesn't mind, how about I treat you to a meal?"
Xavier looked into Grace's sparkling eyes and nodded. "Well."
"Did you come with the driver?" Grace asked.
"Actually." Xavier usually didn’t drive himself when he went out.
"Then let your driver drive my car back for me, and I'll give you a ride." It might be a bit troublesome to drive two cars at the same time.
If Ryan had heard that, he would probably have been furious. After all, when he asked Grace to be the driver, Grace didn't even want to talk to him.
Xavier just looked at her, not saying anything. Grace thought Xavier didn't believe in her driving skills.
"Don't worry, I'm very good at driving."
However, Xavier opened the passenger door, saying, "Get in. I'm not used to letting girls drive."
