Chapter 224 The Roses Ordered by Mr. Montgomery

The hospital was close to Grace's house, so they got there fast.

Grace stepped out of the car. "Thanks for the ride. Want to come up for some coffee?"

"Are you serious?"

"Absolutely."

"Alright." Xavier got out too.

"Mr. Montgomery, you need to..." The driver started, but Xavier knocked on the car door, and the driver went quiet.

Xavier had other things to do and had only planned to visit the hospital, not drive Grace home or visit her place.

In the hospital, Ryan lay in bed, feeling frustrated. Grace was supposed to be his fiancée; how did it come to this?

Amy was by his side, taking care of him. A servant brought food, but Ryan wasn't hungry.

"Ryan, please eat something. I'm really worried," Amy said, holding a fork.

"I'm not hungry. I can't eat," Ryan replied, annoyed.

"What's wrong, Ryan? Are you feeling sick? Should I call the doctor?"

"No, Mom, I'm fine. Just give me some space. I need time to think." Ryan's mind was a mess. He understood his feelings now, but it seemed too late.

"Ryan, this isn't right. What's Grace done to you? She's not even that pretty, and her personality is awful. I don't support you marrying her. Didn't you like Kelly? She's already carrying your child. Maybe I can talk to your father and convince him Kelly is the right choice," Amy suggested.

This way, they could also save the Montgomery family's reputation.

"I don't want that bitch Kelly as my wife!" Ryan snapped at the mention of Kelly.

He had been looking for Kelly for days, but she seemed to have vanished. Even if she hid at the ends of the earth, he would find her, make her abort the child, and punish her!

"Okay, if you don't want her, that's fine. It's your call. What a mess," Amy said, wiping her tears. She blamed everything on Grace. Without Grace, none of this would have happened!

Patrick arrived at the hospital later. Seeing Ryan like this, he felt heartbroken but still scolded him, "You brought this on yourself!"

"Dad, you almost lost me," Ryan said, surprised his father showed no concern.

"You seem energetic now," Patrick replied. Though he spoke harshly, deep down he cared a lot about Ryan. After all, Ryan was his only son, and the future of Montgomery Group depended on him.

"Dad, I get it now. Everything you said was right. I've come to my senses. I want to be with Grace and marry her. Dad, can you help me? Don't cancel the engagement," Ryan pleaded, looking at Patrick. If he wanted to marry Grace now, Patrick was his only hope.

"Dad, Grace listens to you the most. You can make it happen!" Ryan continued.

Patrick's expression was unreadable as he asked, "Do you really want to marry Grace?"

Ryan nodded eagerly. "Yes, I do!"

"Alright, don't worry. Grace is your fiancée," Patrick assured.

Even though Patrick agreed to cancel the engagement, he had a backup plan. The more arrogant Grace was now, the more she'd regret it later. He'd make her beg to marry Ryan!

Ryan was thrilled. "Thanks, Dad! Thank you!"

Amy, who overheard, was upset. "Honey, Grace can't be part of the Montgomery family. You didn't see how arrogantly she insulted me! If Ryan marries her, who knows how much he'll suffer. I don't agree!"

Patrick shot Amy a look, silencing her. She muttered, "I'm just worried about Ryan. Don't you care about him?"

"Stay out of Ryan's marriage," Patrick said firmly.

Amy didn't dare say more but clenched her fists. What kind of spell had Grace cast on Patrick? With so many women out there, why Grace?

The next day, Angela had lunch with Grace and found out about her car accident.

"Are you okay? Why didn't you tell me?" Angela asked, checking Grace's wounds and feeling relieved she was alright.

"I didn't want you to worry. I'm fine now. I'll tell you next time, okay?" Grace replied.

"Let's hope there won't be a next time," Angela said.

Grace smiled. Angela was the best.

"So, is Ryan still in the hospital?"

Grace wasn't sure. "Maybe."

"He deserves it! It's probably his karma. How did he not die in the crash?" Angela despised Ryan too.

Grace shook her head. "I don't know. Bad people always seem to live longer."

"Grace, wasn't the Montgomery family preparing for your wedding with Ryan? But your engagement is over. Yet, it seems like the wedding preparations are still ongoing. What's going on?" Angela asked, confused.

Grace felt uneasy but couldn't pinpoint why. "I don't know. My engagement with Ryan is over. Everyone knows it. The Montgomery family can't force me to marry him."

Angela said, "Maybe Kelly's threats worked, and the wedding is for her."

Grace hoped so. If Kelly married Ryan, it would be a happy ending for everyone. But after Kelly's antics, it seemed unlikely.

"If he marries Kelly, will you go to the wedding?" Angela was curious.

"No," Grace answered firmly.

"Why not? We should go and disgust them."

Grace made a vomiting gesture. "It wouldn't disgust them; it would disgust me."

Angela laughed, and just then, Grace's doorbell rang.

Grace checked the security camera and saw a delivery person. The doorbell rang again before she opened the door.

The delivery person said, "Miss, these flowers are for you."

"Sorry, I didn't order any flowers."

"They were ordered by Mr. Montgomery."

Angela heard and said, "Mr. Montgomery is so romantic?"

Grace frowned at the large bouquet of red roses, thinking, 'Xavier isn't the type to send flowers, and our relationship doesn't warrant such a gesture.'
