Chapter 551 Are You Going This Far?
Sterling said, "This is my girlfriend, Lenora Stewart."
"Hello." Grace shook her hand.
She looked at Grace's hand, with no intention of shaking it, and even showed hostility towards Grace.
Grace was so beautiful, could she be here to steal Sterling from her?
Although she didn't know how she inexplicably became Sterling's girlfriend, she felt very noble at the moment, unattainable by anyone.
"Hello." Lenora said coldly.
Sterling frowned; he wanted a girlfriend with personality, not one who was rude.
However, during the meal, Sterling deliberately served Lenora food and pretended to be very affectionate.
But Sterling found that he didn't seem to want to do this.
Lenora also leaned in and kissed Sterling on the cheek, "Thank you, darling."
This was normal between couples, but Sterling put down his utensils directly.
"Get out."
Lenora said, "What?"
"Darling, what's wrong with you?"
Sterling said, "You're dumped, get out!"
Lenora was stunned. She hadn't even processed becoming Sterling's girlfriend before she found herself quickly dumped. It felt like a dream, and then she glared at Grace.
Grace didn't know what to say. Seeing Lenora's hateful look towards her, she wanted to say it had nothing to do with her.
Sterling was indeed decisive; he was quick to get a girlfriend and quick to break up.
However, Sterling put his hand on Grace's shoulder, "Come on, accompany me for a drink."
"What drink?"
"I just broke up, I'm heartbroken, shouldn't I get drunk?"
Looking at Sterling, Grace felt he wasn't heartbroken at all; he seemed quite happy.
But she had nothing to do anyway, and she had told Xavier about dining with Sterling, so she went to the bar with Sterling.
Of course, Grace didn't drink; Sterling got her some juice.
"Aren't you going to care about your girlfriend?"
"What's there to care about? Just find another one."
Grace was silent.
If this got out, Sterling would definitely be labeled a jerk.
"Grace." Sterling sat on the sofa, his long legs crossed, his ambiguous gaze filled with complexity as he looked at Grace.
He held a cigarette but didn't light it, knowing Grace couldn't stand the smell of smoke.
"What? Want to play cards?" Grace asked.
She could tell Sterling seemed to be in a bad mood.
"Sure." Sterling hadn't played in a long time.
Grace's card skills had indeed improved; she knew not to easily reveal her cards, a lesson learned from Xavier and Sterling. No matter how bad her hand was, she had to act like it was good to intimidate others.
After a couple of rounds, Sterling's eyes flashed with appreciation, "You truly are my student."
"I call it talent!"
"How about we bet on something?" Sterling stroked his chin, wanting to add stakes to the game.
"What?" Grace looked at him, "I have no money, can't afford to lose."
"I don't want money, let's bet on something else. How about if you lose, you break up with Xavier and become my girlfriend?"
Sterling held a cigar, sniffed it, then put it in his mouth without lighting it.
"Mr. Wallace, stop joking."
"I'm not joking." Sterling bit the cigar, the slightly bitter taste of tobacco spreading in his mouth.
At that moment, the door opened, and Xavier walked in, "Mr. Wallace, always breaking up couples, aren't you?"
Seeing Xavier, Sterling squinted, "Mr. Montgomery, how rude of you to come uninvited."
Xavier said, "Is it polite to ask my girlfriend out?"
Sterling squinted and smiled, "So what?"
He nodded towards the cards on the table, "Want to play a couple of rounds?"
"No." Xavier refused.
Grace, however, was interested and pressed Xavier to sit down, "Play!"
She found it hard to compete with Sterling and wanted to see who was better between Xavier and Sterling.
Since Grace insisted, Xavier sat down.
"What are we betting?" Xavier asked.
Grace had forgotten about the stakes; she and Sterling had played without betting anything.
Grace said, "Gambling is illegal, maybe we shouldn't play."
She shouldn't have asked Xavier to play.
Sterling said, "Whatever, if you lose, let me be the CEO of the DG Group for a day."
Xavier agreed, "Sure."
Grace said, "What?"
Playing for such high stakes?
She raised her hand, "How about including me? I want to be the CEO of the DG Group for a day too."
Although she had no chance of winning between Xavier and Sterling, what if?
Sterling said, "Sure, let's team up and take his CEO position, then you can be CEO for a day, and I'll be CEO for a day, taking turns."
However, Xavier pulled Grace over, "You don't need to bet. Whenever you want to be CEO, I'll let you, but being the CEO's wife is better."
Sterling was silent.
Kick Xavier and Grace out!
"What if you lose?"
Sterling said, "If I lose, you can be the CEO of the Wallace Group for a day."
"Who cares about your Wallace Group." Xavier dismissed it, then said, "Let's call off the favor you owe me."
The favor Xavier mentioned was from when Sterling had given up land.
"Deal." Sterling agreed readily.
What favor? Grace didn't know.
But the game between Xavier and Sterling had already started, leaving Grace no chance to ask.
Grace sat next to Xavier, watching his cards.
Xavier's hand wasn't good; if it were Grace's, she might lose.
Grace was more anxious than Xavier; she quietly peeked at Sterling's cards.
Sterling must have saved the world; he always seemed to be favored by God in such moments. She felt Xavier was going to lose.
Grace couldn't bear to watch; should she notify Mason that the DG Group was about to change hands?
"I need to use the restroom." Grace said.
She couldn't bear to see Xavier lose; his luck was too bad.
In this aspect, Xavier was not favored by God, just like his difficult childhood.
However, Xavier's strength was turning bad hands into good ones, just like his life, which should have been at the bottom, but he reversed his fate with his ability.
