Chapter 632 Their Wedding

"What?" Grace couldn't believe there could be worse news after everything that had happened.

Mason sighed, "The rescue team hasn't found much of anything about Mr. Montgomery. They think there's no hope and are planning to call off the search. The police are short-staffed too and are thinking of pausing their efforts."

There had been no updates for over ten days, and it seemed that there would be no more news.

Grace's determination flared. "Then we'll find him ourselves. Keep looking. Tell everyone not to worry about their pay. I'll offer three times the market rate. If anyone finds Xavier or provides a clue, there will be a substantial reward."

"Got it. I'll keep organizing the search," Mason replied, his voice heavy with exhaustion.

He had been suffering too. He had followed Xavier for years, and now Xavier had just vanished.

"Watch out for Johnny, Ms. Lewis. If he's quiet, he's probably up to something."

"I know, I'll be careful."

Even though Johnny had been quiet for the past few days, she couldn't let her guard down.

Grace had managed to handle the most urgent company matters. She planned to go back to the place she and Xavier had lived.

As she got into the car, she felt eyes on her.

Not far away, Johnny watched with a vicious look and gave orders.

"Grace must have let her guard down. She used to have so many cars following her that we couldn't get a chance. Now she thinks I won't make a move, and there's hardly any car following her. This is the perfect opportunity!"

"Follow Grace's car and crash into it!"

He planned to make it look like an accident. Even if someone investigated, they wouldn't trace it back to him.

Soon, Johnny received a call from his subordinate.

"Mr. Turner."

"What's up? Is it done? Did you crash the car?"

"We did crash it, but..." The voice on the other end hesitated.

"But what?"

"But there was an accident."

"What accident? Is Grace dead?" Johnny was most concerned about this.

"Mr. Turner, I'm perfectly fine," a different voice said on the phone. It was Grace.

"Grace?" Johnny couldn't believe Grace was still alive and talking to him.

Grace said, "Mr. Turner, sorry to disappoint you. I just witnessed an accident where someone crashed into a police car. Isn't that ironic? But Mr. Turner, if you want me dead, you'll have to try harder."

Grace didn't want to play games with Johnny anymore. She didn't have the energy for it.

She knew Johnny would make a move today, so she had already contacted the police. A cop had disguised as her and got into the car, drawing out Johnny's men.

When Johnny's men crashed, they hit the police car and were immediately arrested.

Johnny was furious. This wasn't over!

But as Johnny plotted his next move, he inadvertently crossed paths with Sterling.

In fact, Sterling had orchestrated the encounter on purpose.

Knowing Grace was in trouble, Sterling decided to step in and handle it himself.

Johnny was now too preoccupied with trying to appease Sterling to bother Grace.

Mason returned from Skigeth to assist Grace, and together they managed to stabilize DG Group's stock price.

Grace finally had a moment to breathe and went home.

The empty room felt so cold and lonely.

Xavier, where are you? Why haven't you come back?

Feeling a gentle movement, the baby in her belly kicked softly.

Despite everything, the baby was healthy, as her check-ups had shown.

Grace made sure to eat and sleep well every day, so Xavier would see a healthy her when he returned.

Whenever she was alone, her mind was consumed with thoughts of Xavier.

And her grandfather, who had been buried without her attending the funeral.

With some free time, Grace planned to visit Aetheria.

Mason knocked on her office door. "Come in," Grace said.

"Ms. Lewis, there's a call I think you should take."

Grace took the phone from Mason, unsure of what it was about.

"Hello," Grace said.

"Hello, is this the bride, Ms. Lewis?" the voice on the other end asked.

The word "bride" made Grace tremble. "Who is this?"

"I'm from Flowers Manor. Mr. Montgomery arranged your wedding here six months ago. We heard about Mr. Montgomery's situation. Tomorrow is the wedding day. What should we do?"

The person on the other end sounded uncertain. The wedding was grand and meticulously planned by Xavier.

But now, no one knew what to do.

"I understand. The wedding is not canceled!"

This was Xavier's careful arrangement. She would attend, even if it were a wedding for one.

After hanging up, Grace asked Mason to book her a flight to Skigeth. Mason would handle DG Group.

Grace flew to Skigeth that day. Once there, she went to the dock and got a yacht.

It was late as she sailed to the accident site.

The sunken yacht had been salvaged, leaving only an empty shell.

"Xavier, tomorrow is our wedding. You'll come, right?"

The sky darkened, merging with the sea, with no light in sight.

"I miss you so much," she murmured.

The night wind blew as Grace stood alone, staring out.

She couldn't believe Xavier was dead. Without any evidence, how could they say he was gone?

She would keep searching. She wouldn't give up.

Grace's fingers clenched. The last time she and Xavier were on the sea was when he proposed.

Grace loved the sea, its blue beauty and dreaminess.

But now, she feared it, as it had taken her most important person.

She curled up, eyes filled with sorrow.

This is your last chance, Xavier. If you don't show up at our wedding tomorrow, I'll really give up on you!
