Chapter 133 Other Thoughts

Grace's life remained the same, busy with work every day. She often didn't get home until late at night and left early in the morning.
Despite the busyness, Grace felt fulfilled.

Although the company had just opened, Grace was already contemplating expanding with more branches. Her vision extended beyond Skigeth; she envisioned Iris establishments across the country. Should Iris venture into a second city, Oakworth was the ideal location. However, selecting a suitable site and strategizing the expansion required careful consideration, so there was no need to rush.

In addition to the existing sales channels, several large companies expressed interest in partnering with Grace. Given the demand for fragrances within these companies, Grace engaged in negotiations with two of them. While the initial discussions proceeded smoothly and amicably, challenges surfaced during the contract signing phase.

"Ms. Lewis, we got the problem." Lily rushed in. "The companies that were originally planning to sign with us have all refused at the last minute without giving specific reasons. What should we do now?"

Lily had been with Grace since the company started and knew how difficult it had been for Iris.
No one knew who or why someone seemed to be targeting Iris.

"Did they give any reasons?" Grace asked calmly.
Lily answered as she shook her head, "No, now they won't even take our calls, or they make all sorts of excuses. I heard they might be signing with the Lewis Group."
"I understand. Book me a flight immediately; I'll go there right away," Grace said, putting down her work.

This project was a big one, involving a large company with a significant demand for fragrances. They weren't just a sales channel, so Grace had been looking forward to a long-term partnership.

Grace came in person, full of sincerity, but was stopped outside.
Until she saw Madison coming down from upstairs.
Madison was holding documents which clearly were signed contracts.

In just a few days, Madison had become much more mature, exuding a charm that was completely different from the innocent girl she used to be.
Seeing Grace, Madison smiled smugly. "Sorry, Grace, that's how business works. Whoever has the skills gets the contracts and the orders. I got them this time, and it won't be the last. All the contracts you want to sign in the future will be mine."
Madison's words were harsh; she was no longer the same as before.

Now, the entire Lewis Group belonged to Madison; Zach had been driven out by her.
Given Zach's prior transgressions against her, Madison sought to undermine what mattered most to him. With Daniel now in her corner, Madison wielded significant influence, extending beyond Oakworth. With just a word from Madison, Daniel could handle everything for her.
Now, Madison understood that power was indeed a good thing.

Grace looked at Madison without a trace of fear. "Madison, did you get this through your own abilities?"
"Who cares how I got it? As long as I got it, that's my skill." Madison didn't care at all.
"I know you've always looked down on me, but I'm going to show you that, I, Madison, will do better than all of you! To be honest, I know about the companies you're negotiating with next, and they're all going to sign with me. They won't choose you. The Lewis Group has new plans and is about to reach new heights. Your little company might as well close down early. If you beg me, I might reluctantly consider acquiring your company," Madison said arrogantly, as if she were already standing at the pinnacle of the world.

The Lewis Group had indeed been undergoing some reforms recently, and their advertising had increased, making them more well-known.
But all of this was achieved by Madison selling her body. If it were Grace, she wouldn't do such a thing even if it meant her death.

"Madison, if you managed to get all this, then it is indeed your skill. But are you sure it's your skill, or is it your body?" Grace question.
"You!" Madison was furious. "Grace, if you keep talking nonsense, I'll tear your mouth apart!"

Grace's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Leaning against a big tree is undoubtedly comfortable, but have you ever considered what would occur if one day, the tree topples?"

She didn't need to ponder to realize that Daniel's interest in Madison was merely a fleeting infatuation. Who could say how long this novelty would endure?

The scariest thing in this world was to pin all your hopes on someone else, hoping they will treat you well. If one day Daniel got tired of her or meets a more beautiful woman, he would undoubtedly abandon Madison without hesitation.
The future was uncertain for everyone. Nevertheless, perhaps Madison possessed the charm to maintain Daniel's infatuation. Yet, considering Daniel's age and his lavish lifestyle, his health had already been declining, leaving his lifespan uncertain.

Hearing Grace's words, Madison's expression changed. How could the tree fall? She was Daniel's favorite now, and he was very generous with his money.
Madison sneered, "I achieved everything on my own. Grace, don't spread rumors out of jealousy. While I'm still in a good mood and willing to acquire your company, you won't get such a good opportunity later!"

Grace scoffed. "I might consider acquiring your company instead."
"Don't just talk big! Let's wait and see!" Madison didn't take Grace seriously. She even felt that Grace was no longer a match for her.

Losing such a big deal didn't upset Grace. She believed that better opportunities would come.
She didn't blame the company for canceling the contract at the last minute. Since she was there, Grace naturally met with their representative and had a meal together.
Even if they couldn't collaborate, they became friends.

Grace quickly returned to Skigeth. The car race Angela mentioned was the next day.
Today, there weren't many people at the racetrack. It wasn't an open competition, just a private event for the rich people of Skigeth.

Angela had mentioned that there wouldn't be many people, and perhaps due to the early hour, there truly weren't many people present.
As soon as Grace arrived, she saw Victor and Omari chatting in the distance.
Her heart skipped a beat. She wondered, 'Could Xavier be here too?'
Grace's eyes scanned the area but didn't see that familiar figure.

Just then, Angela pulled Grace towards Omari, and Grace had no choice but to greet them. "Mr. Turner, Mr. Hastings. Didn't expect to see you here."
"Grace, what a coincidence." Victor said, also surprised to see Grace.
"Did you come alone?" Grace asked.
Victor saw through Grace's thoughts and said directly, "Grace, you're wondering if Xavier is here, aren't you?"
