Chapter 174 Did You Lure Grace into Bed?
Grace saw that Angela had already organized the media coverage of Ryan for her today.
She contacted those media outlets directly, and they said the information was disclosed by Ms. Lewis.
Grace wanted to find out who exactly had contacted the media.
Initially, she assumed that the media outlets would not disclose their sources of information, anticipating a challenging task ahead.
Unexpectedly, the media was more straightforward than she had imagined. They openly revealed that the information originated from a specific source. Furthermore, they inquired about the preferred form of address, to which the individual responded with "Ms. Lewis."
It was a text conversation, and Grace got the pictures and that number easily.
Grace went to investigate this number and quickly found out that the user of this number was a man named James Eliot.
She had never heard of this name, but as she dug deeper, she discovered that this James seemed to have a connection with Kelly.
She found a photo of James and Kelly together.
The evidence was conclusive; this was all Kelly's design.
Grace hurriedly wrote a tweet; she definitely needed to clear her name. A live broadcast alone was not enough; she needed evidence and an official statement.
However, Grace felt that things were going too smoothly. Why was the media suddenly so cooperative, and how did she so easily find a photo of James and Kelly together?
But Grace didn't have time to think too much now. She organized everything, including all the bed photos of Ryan that Kelly had previously given her, and edited them into a long tweet, which she posted.
Then Grace called Victor, hoping Victor could arrange for Ryan's actions to be exposed to the public.
Victor readily agreed, "No problem."
Satisfied with her actions, Grace proceeded to approach the Montgomery family to discuss the annulment with Patrick.
There was a storm brewing online, and Grace was keeping a close eye on it.
In the taxi, she scrolled through Twitter, which was almost entirely about her.
She was pleasantly surprised by Victor's reliability. Shortly after she descended the stairs, Twitter was already ablaze with activity.
Indeed, professionals were swift and efficient in their work.
[#GraceTheMostTragicFiancéeInHistory]
[#SupportGraceInAnnulment]
[#LetTheMontgomeryFamilySpareGrace]
[#AreTheLivesOfOrdinaryPeopleWorthlessToTheElite]
Topics like these were among the top searches, and there were many more topics criticizing Ryan and Kelly, all on the list.
Seeing this, Grace felt a rush of happiness.
Determined to escalate the situation, she aimed to create a scenario so significant that the Montgomery family would be left with no choice but to allow her to annul the engagement.
She called Victor, "Mr. Hastings, thank you."
Victor was puzzled.
He had just contacted the company's PR department and asked them to prepare, which meant he hadn't even started yet.
Generally, preemptive PR efforts required some time, and for them to be successful, it would take at least an hour.
Grace's swift online actions gave the impression that everything had been meticulously planned in advance. It seemed likely that someone was assisting her behind the scenes.
Victor also saw the online situation. After all, he was the owner of an entertainment company and knew the rules of the media.
To achieve this in such a short time was challenging.
There was probably only one person who could do this.
"You're welcome," Victor said.
After ending the call with Grace, Victor swiftly dialed another number.
Eventually, the call connected, and Xavier's cold, terse voice came through, perfectly in line with his character.
"Speak."
"It was you, wasn't it?" Victor teased.
"Xavier, this is the first time you've intervened on behalf of a woman, isn't it?" Victor remarked quietly.
Various bloggers had started reposting, with so much unfavorable news about Ryan and Kelly.
Xavier said, "I don't know what you mean."
"Still pretending, right?" Victor began to analyze, "First of all, those media outlets are very cunning. How could Grace so easily get the chat records and phone number? You must have given them a heads-up."
"And that photo of Kelly Simmons, it's not that easy to find. How come I couldn't find it? You must have helped in the background."
"And so many bloggers on Twitter standing up. How could they risk offending the Montgomery family to speak for Grace? Some of those bloggers charge money for a single tweet, and those trending rankings aren't easy to achieve."
"Grace doesn't understand the media rules, but I do."
Xavier remained silent.
"But Grace still asked me for help. You didn't tell her you handled it?" Victor found it strange. If Xavier wanted to help Grace, why not let her know?
"Don't tell her," Xavier said only this.
After a pause, Xavier added, "If she asks, say it was you."
Victor chuckled, "Mr. Montgomery, the businessman, who never acts without a clear benefit in mind, secretly assisted Grace without her knowledge."
Xavier pondered that he wasn't precisely aiding Grace. The evidence was found by Grace herself. If she couldn't think of these things, she wouldn't have gotten the evidence.
He merely made it easier for Grace to find the evidence, which was just a small favor.
"Why didn't you ever help me like this before?" Victor teased, then picked up the water beside him, ready to take a sip.
"Why would I help you? You never got into my bed," Xavier said flatly.
Victor, who was drinking water, choked and took a while to recover.
"What?" He thought he had misheard. "Did you lure Grace into bed?"
Xavier was truly remarkable. Initially, it seemed like Xavier simply had a personal interest in Grace.
He didn't expect Xavier to act so quickly.
Did Ryan know about this?
"Anything else? If not, I'm hanging up." Xavier stated, not willing to waste any more time on Victor.
"Wait, let's chat a bit more. Why don't you tell me how you lured Grace into bed? She may look ordinary, but to captivate you, she must have some extraordinary skills. Is she good in bed?" Victor said.
"And also, she..."
Before Victor could finish, the call was disconnected.
If Xavier wasn't interested in conversing, why did he initially say something intriguing to Victor?
The potential relationship between Xavier and Grace, involving his nephew's fiancée, would indeed be quite thrilling.
Even TV dramas wouldn't dare to depict this!
Wouldn't Grace and Ryan's engagement face some changes?
No wonder Grace was so eager to break off the engagement, using public opinion so perfectly. It turned out she had fallen for Xavier.
Xavier hung up the phone and placed it aside.
His gaze lingered on the laptop in front of him, where Grace's clarifying tweet was displayed.
He stood up, and the butler approached, "Sir."
"Prepare the car, and we're going to the Montgomery family."
