Chapter 190 Completely Falling Out

Kelly kept defending herself, her voice desperate. "Ryan, how could you even think that?"
Ryan sneered, "Am I not speaking the truth?"
Kelly was at a loss for words. It was true, but how did Ryan know?
Seeing Ryan's expression, Kelly knew he was furious.
"I didn't mean to. I did all this for you. I don't want to see you suffer like this. Ryan, it's all my fault. You can scold me," Kelly said.
"For me?" Ryan looked like he had heard a joke. His eyes were filled with anger, making him look terrifying.
"You did it for yourself. Were you trying to ruin Grace's reputation just to secure a place as my wife?" Ryan's question hung in the air, his expression already betraying his suspicions.
"It's not like that, Ryan, trust me." Kelly cried and shook her head, but Ryan had lost his patience.
"Get out!" Ryan pointed directly at Kelly's nose. "Get out and don't ever show your face to me again!"
It was the first time Kelly had seen Ryan lose his temper at her like this. It was clear that Ryan really hated her now.
But why?
Confused and hurt, Kelly couldn't pinpoint where she had gone wrong. She believed her actions were driven by her love for Ryan.
Reluctantly, she began to retreat, but Ryan's forceful shove startled her. "Leave!" he commanded, his tone cutting.
Left with no other option, Kelly departed, her mind swirling with thoughts. She knew she couldn't abandon this situation. She needed to regroup and devise a new plan. Giving up was not an option.
In the hospital ward, Ryan sat alone on the bed. It turned out Kelly was behind this. But when did Kelly become so malicious?
Last night, Kelly had someone take Grace to a hotel room but she claimed that she saw Grace enter the room herself.
Maybe Grace had discovered Kelly's plot. Instead of confronting Kelly directly, Grace had orchestrated a countermove. By pretending to fall into Kelly's trap and then bringing Xavier into the mix, Grace had effectively turned the tables.
The more he thought about it, the more it made sense, explaining the morning's chaos perfectly.
Grace had Xavier drop her off at her apartment complex. After thanking him, she went upstairs.
She took off her dress and hung it in the wardrobe.
The dress was beautiful, and she liked it a lot. If she had the chance to wear it again, she definitely would.
Then she put on some makeup, transforming herself back into her usual self.
Although her secret was exposed in front of Xavier, Grace felt much lighter.
From now on, when she faced Xavier with her real face, she wouldn't feel guilty.
After changing clothes and reapplying her makeup, Grace went downstairs and found Mason waiting for her. He handed her the phone.
Mason had taken her phone under the pretext of delivering clothes, which Grace only realized after she had taken a shower.
She couldn't help but admire Xavier's intellect; he proved to be more astute than the average person.
After arriving at the office, Grace hadn't been working long when her phone rang.
Seeing an unfamiliar number, Grace answered, "Hello."
"This is Stephanie. Why haven't you been answering my calls?" Stephanie's accusatory voice came through.
Grace didn't even know Stephanie had called her. "Ms. Park, is there something you need?"
"Who was Xavier with last night?" Stephanie asked bluntly.
Grace was stunned for a moment, not expecting Stephanie to be so direct.
"Ms. Park, you should ask Mr. Montgomery. I'm not sure," Grace replied.
"I know you're not sure. I called Xavier in the middle of the night, and there was another woman in his room. Find out who she is for me." Stephanie's tone was commanding.
Grace felt a wave of unease wash over her. How could Stephanie possibly know?
She resolved to keep the truth hidden from Stephanie, refusing to disclose that she had been the woman in Xavier's room the previous night, even sharing the same bed.
The thought of revealing such a daring escapade made her shudder. After all, she still had many more years of life ahead of her, and some secrets were best kept buried.
"What's wrong? Why aren't you saying anything?" Stephanie asked when she didn't hear Grace's voice.
Grace quickly found her voice, trying to control her heartbeat and appear normal.
"What? There was a woman in Mr. Montgomery's room last night? I just didn't expect it. Mr. Montgomery doesn't seem like that kind of person."
Stephanie snorted coldly, her voice filled with malice. "When I find out who that woman is, I'll make sure she disappears from this world forever!"
Grace's heart sank. She understood that Stephanie was serious about her threats. However, fear did not grip her. She believed that once she fortified herself, no one would have the power to harm her.
With this conviction spurring her on, Grace resolved to push herself even further, dedicating her efforts to becoming even stronger. She wanted to reach a high position, one where even if Stephanie knew she was the woman from last night, she couldn't do anything about it.
"You seem to know Xavier well. I want you to find out who the woman was last night. If you get accurate information, you'll be well rewarded. Name your price," Stephanie instructed.
Grace smiled, but it was a smile without warmth. "Sorry, Ms. Park, I can't help you with this."
"Not enough money? Or you can ask for something else."
"This has nothing to do with money. I won't do this kind of thing. Ms. Park, I have other matters to attend to. Sorry, I have to go." With that, Grace hung up the phone.
She put her phone aside, and the desk was piled with documents.
Grace deeply understood her insignificance. She couldn't even protect Iris, so how could she possibly contend with Stephanie? She couldn't even break free from the Montgomery family. That was the gap.
Grace understood that running Iris alone wouldn't be enough to achieve her ambitions. Determined to secure her future, she set her sights on finance, aspiring to become a capitalist in the world of high finance.
The company was developing well, and she had found many books to start learning.
She believed it was never too late to start learning. However, many concepts were new to Grace, and she needed to look up some information to understand them.
Grace pulled an all-nighter at the office, engrossed in reading until the early hours. After grabbing a few hours of sleep, she refreshed herself by washing her face and dove right back into her reading.
She dedicated all her free time outside of work to expanding her knowledge, constantly seeking to learn and grow.
In the afternoon, Ryan came to her company.
"Grace, I need to talk to you." Ryan looked pale and haggard, with no color in his face.
Ryan hadn't even stepped into Iris when another car pulled up next to his.
Mason got out of the car, holding some documents.
Mason, standing at 6 feet tall in a suit, looked like a business elite. He adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and walked over to Ryan.
"Mr. Ryan Montgomery, perfect timing. I don't have to go to the hospital," he claimed calmly.
Mason handed over the documents. "Mr. Xavier Montgomery sent me to deliver the share transfer agreement. The agreement is ready. Do you have any modifications or additions?"
After Mason finished speaking, Ryan's face turned even paler as he looked at the document.
