Chapter 111 Xavier's Unspoken Thoughts about Grace
Edith was a bit flustered, reaching out to push Grace. "Why are you trying to slander and frame me? Did Angela tell you to do this?"
Omari was about to reach out to stop Edith, but Xavier was faster.
Xavier pulled Grace behind him, his gaze icy. "Is your good behavior being publicly hitting people?"
With his hand empty, Omari looked at Xavier, who was slightly taller than him.
He greeted, "Mr. Montgomery, aren't you leaving yet?"
"I see someone wanting to perform like a monkey, shouting and screaming in public, all in a fit of rage." Xavier's words were full of sarcasm, as if he was watching a show.
"Mr. Montgomery, you're mistaken. Edith wasn't like this before." Omari had to pull Edith away to prevent her from causing more embarrassment.
Edith shook her head. "No, she accused me first!"
Grace said, "How many people have you forced to humiliate Angela? You know best. Just because Angela doesn't want to deal with you doesn't mean she's easy to bully!"
Angela and Grace had been classmates since childhood. After Angela was recognized by the Turner family, she transferred to the same class. At that time, Kelly and Grace also had a good relationship.
When Angela was blocked at the school gate, Grace wanted to rush forward, but Kelly held her back, telling her not to get involved.
But Grace still rushed forward, while Kelly hid behind a nearby tree.
In the end, both Grace and Angela were beaten up, but since then, they became good friends.
Angela never liked Kelly, not because Kelly was poor, but because she found Kelly pretentious.
Kelly wasn't genuinely interested in being friends with Grace; she just wanted to hang out with her, have Grace treat her to meals, buy her things, even though Grace didn't have much money herself.
Later on, when Kelly found out that Grace had a fiancé, the young master of the Montgomery family, she contrived to hook up whit Ryan.
"I didn't, Omari, I didn't!" Edith started to look aggrieved, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked pitifully at Omari.
"Alright, go back to your room for now. We'll talk about this later." Omari didn't want to make a scene in public either.
If what Grace said was true, he would talk to Angela privately later.
Edith was reluctant to left, while Omari looked apologetically at Grace. "I'm sorry, Grace, I didn't know about these things."
"She didn't bully me, so there's no need to apologize to me. Omari, even though Angela considers you the only family of the Turner family, there are many things you don't know. She actually cares a lot about your family and wants to get along well with you. If possible, could you pay more attention to Angela?" Grace voiced.
"Of course, thank you for always being by Angela's side," Omari said.
"We're friends, it's what friends do."
Omari hesitated, as if he had something else to say, while Xavier remained indifferent.
"Breakfast is over, Mr. Turner, aren't you leaving?"
"Mr. Montgomery, aren't you leaving either?" Omari raised his head, meeting Xavier's gaze.
Facing Xavier, Omari felt a tremendous pressure, sending shivers down his spine.
Even Grace, who was slow to catch on, sensed a strange atmosphere.
It seemed like an invisible struggle, filled with hostility between Xavier and Omari. Was this a showdown between the strong?
Did they have some business dispute? Did Xavier snatch a project from Omari, causing them to dislike each other?
But this had nothing to do with Grace, and she wasn't a curious person.
"I'll leave first. Goodbye, Omari, goodbye, Mr. Montgomery." Grace waved her hands.
Xavier's brow furrowed even more tightly, as he wondered 'Why call Omari by name, then address him as Mr. Montgomery so formally? Didn't she take his advice that to stay away from Omari?'
Omari spoke first after Grace's leaving, "It's rumored that Mr. Montgomery doesn't care about things unrelated to himself, but it seems quite special toward Grace."
Since the last time at the restaurant when Xavier hurriedly took Grace away, Omari had noticed his thoughtfulness.
This time, when Edith tried to act, Xavier also protected Grace.
Was Xavier being too caring towards Grace?
"Are you very close to Grace?" Xavier asked.
Just calling Grace's name made Omari sound frivolous!
"Of course, Grace is my sister's friend," Omari answered.
"Since she's your sister's friend, not yours, please call her Ms. Lewis in the future," Xavier replied.
"Mr. Montgomery, why are you so agitated? How I address her is between Grace and me." Omari was confused.
"Grace is part of the Montgomery family, so please be mindful. Ryan is also at this resort." Although Xavier reminded Omari, he seemed to forget that he, himself was the most indiscreet when Ryan was right outside.
"Since Grace is Ryan Montgomery's fiancée, shouldn't you also keep your distance and respect their relationship?" Omari seemed get the key point.
"I am Ryan's uncle, so I have the right to keep an eye on his fiancée, to prevent any ill-intentioned individuals from doing something. Mr. Turner is a good man, and I believe Grace, in your eyes, should just be your sister's friend." Xavier's gaze became more forceful, with a hint of warning in his tone.
Omari paused, then averted his gaze from Xavier's, chuckling mockingly. "What if she's not?"
In his heart, Grace wasn't just a simple friend of his sister's.
Xavier voiced, "I've said it before, Grace is part of the Montgomery family, and she's about to be engaged to Ryan. Whatever your thoughts are, you'd better keep them to yourself."
Omari laughed. "Mr. Montgomery, I can see that you care a lot about the Montgomery family. Perhaps it's you who have ulterior motives that you're not willing to admit?"
Xavier sneered, "Mr. Turner, be careful with your words."
He had absolutely no ulterior motives toward Grace!
Between him and Grace, it was merely a mutually beneficial relationship.
There was no evidence to support the claim he Xavier being good to Grace. He didn't think he had done anything for Grace or what was so good about it.
"I really hope Mr. Montgomery only sees Grace as Ryan's fiancée," Omari smirked.
Everyone thought Grace was average-looking in the first sight, but after getting to know Grace, her charm became more apparent.
She had many virtues as long as not being judged by mere appearance, as she was strong and resilient, always striving in the direction she believed was right, never regretting her choices.
Even if there were thorns ahead and no end in sight, Grace was willing to forge ahead.
Moreover, Grace's true appearance was not as it seemed now.
