Chapter 234 Grace and Xavier's Relationship

Ryan's words hit the shareholders hard, leaving everyone feeling uneasy. Even though they didn't voice their complaints, Ryan stormed off, leaving tension in the air.

Ryan had plans for the evening. Other companies, hoping to partner with the Montgomery Group, invited him to a bar. They even brought along some attractive women to charm him.

The women were not only beautiful but also dressed provocatively. They leaned into Ryan, their soft bodies and delicate hands caressing his chest. Ryan, who hadn't been intimate in a while, gave in to his desires and enjoyed their attention.

Relaxed and distracted, Ryan agreed to whatever the other company's rep suggested, and they quickly signed a contract.

The bar's private rooms had a discussion area and a resting room. After the contract was signed, the rep left, but the women stayed to keep Ryan entertained.

Ryan often felt underestimated, seen as just a rich playboy. But now, with women sent to seduce him, he felt recognized for his potential. This validation made him feel good, boosting his confidence that his skills would eventually be acknowledged.

"Mr. Montgomery, let's go inside. We have more to show you, and we promise you'll be happy."

Ryan, his judgment clouded by desire, was tempted by the idea of indulgence. He reasoned that since he had no plans with Grace and liked her, taking care of his own needs wasn't a betrayal.

Feeling justified, Ryan got intimate with the women, unaware that photos were being taken.

Meanwhile, Grace received a message from Xavier with explicit photos of Ryan. One showed a woman on his lap, another in his arms, with Ryan's hand inside her short skirt.

Xavier: [Here are some photos for you. No need to thank me.]

Grace, unfazed by the photos, saw Ryan's true nature and felt nothing. She forwarded the pictures to Kelly, thinking a bit of mischief might be fun.

Then, Grace saw Xavier's number and sent a message: [Xavier, are you busy now?]

Xavier: [Not really.]

Grace: [Can we talk on the phone?]

Xavier called immediately. "What do you want to talk about?" he asked.

"Just some financial questions I didn't understand."

"Go ahead."

Grace explained her questions. Despite focusing on retrieving Evelyn's ashes, she hadn't neglected studying investment documents and financial knowledge.

Although Grace was a quick learner, she often hit roadblocks. knowing Xavier was awake, she decided to seek his help.

Xavier explained things simply, making complex concepts easy for her to grasp.

Meanwhile, Stephanie was also trying to call Xavier, as they hadn't spoken in a long time.

Ever since that night when Stephanie borrowed Joseph's phone to call Xavier and overheard a woman's voice, she couldn't shake her unease. She wanted to rush to Skigeth, but Joseph was against it.

To ease her suspicions, Stephanie secretly checked out Xavier's surroundings but found nothing. If she hadn't heard the voice herself, she might've thought she was imagining things.

Not finding any trace of a woman around Xavier, Stephanie figured it might be normal for a guy in his twenties to have a one-night stand or two.

She tried to convince herself that as long as Xavier's actions didn't affect her, she could accept it. But deep down, she was still worried.

Xavier's long stay in Skigeth without a break only made her more anxious. When she tried to call him, his line was always busy. Was he buried in work? Knowing Xavier, it wouldn't be surprising.

Stephanie waited for a while, but Xavier was still on the phone. After half an hour, he was still talking.

She couldn't wait any longer. Who was he talking to? She had to know!

She called Mason to ask what Xavier was doing, but Mason said it was after work hours, so he didn't know.

Feeling frustrated, Stephanie didn't know anyone else in Skigeth, so she called Grace.

Grace hadn't helped her before, and with the news of Grace and the Montgomery family's broken engagement, Stephanie thought Grace was ungrateful. Even though Ryan was a jerk, marrying him was a step up for Grace.

Stephanie thought Grace was unwilling to change and didn't understand her situation. She had tried to help Grace, but Grace didn't appreciate it.

When Stephanie finally got through to Grace, she found out Grace was already on another call. Everyone being busy on the phone at that hour puzzled Stephanie. Who could they be talking to?

Stephanie suddenly had a bold guess. Could Xavier be talking to Grace? The thought made her heart race and her eyes narrow in suspicion. Could Grace be interested in Xavier?

After all, Xavier was charming and good-looking. If Grace was making moves on Xavier under the guise of her connection to Ryan, Stephanie vowed to confront her.

Stephanie clenched her fists, filled with jealousy. She immediately ordered people to track Grace's movements to see if they overlapped with Xavier's.

She also expanded her investigation to find out who the mysterious woman in Xavier's room was that night.

Meanwhile, Xavier and Grace talked for a long time. Grace had two more questions, but Xavier said, "It's too late; you should go to bed."

Grace realized they had been talking for a while. "It's so late already. I've learned a lot. If you ever lose your job, you could start a training class!" she joked.

"Are you cursing me?" Xavier asked.

"Of course not. I hope you never lose your job. Goodbye, Mr. Montgomery. Goodnight, Mr. Montgomery!"

"Mr. Montgomery?" Xavier chuckled.

Hearing Xavier's laugh, Grace, who was about to hang up, paused. His laugh was like a feather tickling her ear, and she hesitated.
