Chapter 040 Drugged
Grace looked at the men with ill intentions, each wearing a sleazy smile. Their leering gazes were revolting.
Her eyes narrowed. She knew Tom wouldn't let her off today. Her gaze was sharp, and she exuded a powerful presence.
She parted her lips, clearly stating, "Get lost!"
The men seemed in no rush. Tom even burst out laughing, "Grace, you're in no position to demand anything from me. You better apologize and beg for mercy!"
Although Tom was afraid of Xavier, he had done his research. Xavier didn't just help anyone. His aid for Grace might have been a fluke.
"Do you honestly think you can escape tonight?" Tom said, before leading the others inside. He even took the time to close the restroom door behind him.
Grace felt her body growing increasingly hot and began panting. It felt like insects were crawling and nibbling inside her.
She sensed something was amiss, "Did you drug me?"
"We haven't drugged you," Tom replied with a smirk.
Grace's eyes darted to the incense burner. She initially thought it was just regular restroom incense. Now it seemed like there might be more to it, possibly containing an aphrodisiac.
The men had been stalling all along, probably to make her inhale more of the scent.
"Don't come any closer!" Grace retreated until her back hit the wall. There was no more space to retreat to.
She quickly pulled out a sharp little knife from her bag. Her cheeks were flushed, and her body was weakening, but she brandished the knife, glaring fiercely at the men, "Stay back!"
Some were wary of being cut and hesitated to advance.
"Don't be afraid. She's just a woman; she can't overcome us men!" Tom stepped back behind his cohort, then began to give orders.
"Quick, tear off her clothes!" Tom ordered. "Go on. You all love sleeping with women, right? Whoever does it and records a video gets a $500,000 reward from Ms. Simmons!"
Tom couldn't stand the sight of such an unattractive woman. He felt absolutely nothing for her. Yet he didn't want to see Grace, so smug in her victory. One way or another, he was determined to ruin Grace that night.
Moreover, Kelly had promised him a golden opportunity—if he managed to handle this situation, she would introduce him to Ryan. Working with the Montgomery Group would significantly boost his standing in his own family. Even when facing Laura and her influential relatives, he would be able to do so with confidence.
Grace heard a key phrase, ‘Kelly’?
"Is it Kelly who put you up to this? What's in it for you?" she demanded.
Tom wasn't foolish enough to admit that Kelly had sent him. He kept her name out of it. "Are you guys not in a hurry to get this done?" he urged those around him.
After being exposed to the incense, they began to feel the effects. The woman may not have been attractive, but the hefty sum of half a million dollars was too tempting to ignore. Who wouldn't want the money? Besides, they could have their way with her as well.
Some tried to grab the knife from Grace, while others yanked at her arms, attempting to tear her clothes off.
Grace swung the knife wildly, but as her body grew weaker, her strength dwindled.
In a private room outside, Omari had invited Xavier for dinner that evening. They discussed the potential collaboration between the Turner Group and Xavier's DG Group.
Xavier hadn't forgotten what the Montgomery family had done. His return signaled trouble for the Montgomerys.
A partnership with the Turner Group was just a means to an end for Xavier. He was far from a saint in the business world, using others as pawns was common practice.
Now the Turner family was falling into Omari's hands. His goal wasn't only to replace the Montgomerys as Skigeth's leading family but also to expand the Turner Group into Oakworth—a mutually beneficial arrangement.
After they finished their conversation and their meal, Xavier, who had other matters to attend to, didn't plan to linger. Omari also had business to take care of, so they prepared to leave.
The elevator was still on the first floor, and they had to wait a moment.
Omari couldn't help but glance at the man beside him. Xavier's presence was impossible to ignore, no matter where he stood. His eloquence and intelligence were completely different from what Omari had initially expected.
Omari had only heard of Xavier through rumors, but now, meeting him in person, he realized some were simply born to reign in the world of business.
Just then, a voice interrupted their wait, "Mr. Carter, this doesn't bode well. Why do I have this ominous feeling?"
"You don't have to worry. Mr. Reed has it all figured out. Grace offended Mr. Reed, after all," Kyle said as he lit a cigarette. He was, after all, doing a job for Tom, and Tom was generous with his payment.
"But can Ms. Lewis handle all those people?" the voice asked, hesitantly.
"Shut up. If Mr. Reed wants to teach her a lesson, is that any of our business?" Kyle snapped.
Xavier and Omari both paused when they heard the name Grace. Omari hadn't quite caught on, but Xavier was already on the move.
"Where's Grace?" Xavier's voice was as cold as if it had emanated from the very depths of hell.
Neither man had ever seen Xavier before. By the time they realized who he was, they looked at Xavier disdainfully, "Who are you?"
By that time, Omari had caught up, "What were you saying about Grace?"
"You... You're Mr. Turner?" Kyle recognized Omari.
"Where is Grace!" Omari demanded and his voice fierce.
"I... I don't know..." Kyle dared not divulge more.
"I'll give you one last chance. If you don't speak now, you'll never speak again!" Xavier threatened, his face dark as storm clouds.
