Chapter 572 The King Fainted Again Upon Seeing Grace

"Call Dorian and find out where he is right now!" Jane's voice was sharp with urgency.

Robert, sensing her distress, replied, "I'll call him right away." But when he tried, Dorian's phone was off, and he couldn't get through.

"Jane, why are you so worked up about Dorian's whereabouts?" Robert asked, puzzled.

Jane sighed, "I'm just worried about his safety. Vesperia is so dangerous, and he's a king. What if something happens to him, like it did to me?"

Her explanation seemed reasonable enough, and Robert reluctantly accepted it. But Jane was deeply uneasy, fearing that Grace might meet Dorian.

"I need to rest a bit. Let me know immediately if you hear from Dorian," she said, dismissing Robert.

As soon as he left, Jane quickly called Jared from her other phone, the one no one knew she used. They rarely contacted each other, and she usually used a different number.

Jared answered, and Jane wasted no time. "It's me," she said.

Before Jared could respond, Jane continued, "Did you know all along? Why didn't you tell me?"

"What are you talking about?" Jared feigned ignorance.

"Grace! Don't tell me you didn't know she's Elizabeth's child!" Jane's voice was filled with agitation.

There was a brief silence on Jared's end before he admitted, "I knew."

"Then why didn't you tell me? Grace can't be allowed to stay!" Jane's ruthless nature was showing.

"Stay out of this," Jared warned. "I have it under control."

"How can I stay out of it? If Grace meets Dorian, things will spiral out of control. Grace is in Oakworth, and so is Dorian!"

"That's all because of you!" Jared snapped. "You insisted on coming to Vesperia. If you hadn't come, Dorian wouldn't be here either. Think before you act next time!"

"How dare you scold me, Jared! Remember, you were the one who drugged Dorian and Elizabeth. If anyone's going down, it's you first!"

Jane hoped that her marriage to Dorian might save her if things went south.

"If you want to stay alive, stay out of this. Leave Grace alone!" Jared hung up, leaving Jane trembling with rage.

Unbeknownst to Jane, her calls were being monitored. The information quickly reached Xavier.

"Mr. Montgomery, Jane just made a call. We intercepted it, and it was to this number, a domestic one."

Xavier had been keeping a close watch on Jane ever since she arrived in Skigeth. Her presence there was suspicious, and he wanted to know why.

"Do we know the content of the call?" Xavier asked.

"Sorry, Mr. Montgomery, we couldn't get that."

Xavier had his team trace the number, and it led to Jared. Xavier's eyes narrowed. Jane calling Jared? They weren't supposed to know each other.

But the evidence suggested otherwise. Jane's reaction to Grace indicated she had met Elizabeth before. Steven had said Jane didn't know Elizabeth, but it seemed there were secrets involving Jane, Jared, and possibly Elizabeth.

Xavier quickly shared his findings with Steven.

"I never thought those two would be connected," Steven said. "Jared always seemed like a good guy to me."

"Then he might not be too guarded around you. Try to find out more," Xavier suggested.

"Alright. You need to protect Grace in Oakworth," Steven urged.

"I will," Xavier assured him.

"Grace's safety is in your hands," Steven's voice was grave. He knew the pressure this put on Xavier, but it was necessary.

"Don't worry, brother," Xavier replied, using the term to emphasize their bond.

After hanging up, Xavier continued to monitor Jane and Jared. He also wanted to know what role King Dorian played in all this.

Xavier's team soon reported that Dorian had landed in Oakworth.

"When?" Xavier asked.

"Today. He should be at the airport now."

Grace was also at the airport. Xavier's concern grew. He didn't know if Dorian was friend or foe.

Just as he was about to call Grace, her call came through.

"Grace!" Xavier answered immediately.

"Xavier!" Grace's voice was frantic. "Something's wrong."

"What happened? Are you still at the airport?" Xavier grabbed his car keys, ready to rush out.

"No, I'm on my way to the hospital."

"Calm down. What happened?" Xavier asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"It's not me. It's the King of Aetheria," Grace explained, still in shock.

Grace had seen Dorian at the airport. She was surprised to see him there and greeted him. But as soon as he saw her, he seemed to be in pain, clutching his head.

Grace was terrified. The last time she saw him, he had collapsed. This time, there were no bodyguards around, so she called for an ambulance and had him taken to the hospital.

Given Dorian's status, Grace was worried about the consequences and called Xavier for help.
