Chapter 495 Sterling is Going to Flatter
Grace was eventually taken back to The Bameran Villa by Xavier. According to Xavier, the bed at The Bameran Villa was bigger.
Grace blushed as Xavier carried her inside. Fortunately, the servants at The Bameran Villa were already resting, so no one saw them.
The next morning, Grace woke up, washed up, and went to work.
Xavier had things to do as well, so they were apart during the day.
In the afternoon, Sterling came to Grace's studio.
"Mr. Wallace, what brings you here?" Grace hadn't seen Sterling for several days and didn't expect him to still be in Skigeth.
"Didn't you say last time that I could find you anytime?"
Sterling looked very relaxed, crossing his legs and lightly tapping his fingers on Grace's desk.
Grace was momentarily speechless, and Sterling continued, "The collaboration I mentioned last time wasn't a joke. Our company's relevant department specifically asked me to come and discuss it with you."
Grace didn't expect Sterling to be serious, so she called in the person in charge of this area from her company.
They were supposed to discuss the collaboration, but both Grace and Sterling were present.
Grace had no objections to this collaboration, and partnering with the Wallace Group would benefit the Iris brand.
The meeting lasted quite a while, going straight to the end of the workday.
"Dinner together?" Sterling invited.
Grace said, "Probably not. My grandfather is here, and I need to accompany him tonight."
Chase was indeed a good excuse.
But as soon as she left the meeting room, she saw Chase and Scott standing there.
"Grace!"
"Grandpa, what are you doing here?"
Scott said, "Grandpa wanted to see where you work. He sent you a message, but you probably didn't see it, so I brought him over."
Grace indeed hadn't checked her phone and hadn't seen anything.
"Mr. Coleman," Sterling greeted.
Chase looked at Sterling, his eyes lighting up, "And who is this?"
"He's my business partner," Grace said.
Sterling smiled, "Not just a business partner, right? Who said we were friends last time?"
Grace remained silent.
Before she could speak, Chase said, "Friends are good. I didn't know Grace had such friends. Why didn't you tell me?"
Sterling said, "I didn't expect Grace's grandfather to be so young."
Sterling was very good with words, making Chase quite happy. After some polite exchanges, Chase thought Sterling was a good person.
He seemed successful and articulate.
Chase even invited Sterling to join them for dinner. Sterling said, "It would be my honor."
Chase then asked Scott to book a private room. Grace was helpless, wondering what was going on.
"Grandpa, Mr. Wallace is a guest. Isn't it a bit too forward to be so familiar?"
"I don't think so. Maybe he could become family in the future." He really liked Sterling.
After Sterling introduced himself, Chase knew who he was. The Wallace family business was significant, and Sterling was indeed impressive.
"That's absolutely impossible. I've already said I have a boyfriend."
"Sterling and I are just having a casual meal, right, Sterling?"
"Right," Sterling behaved particularly well in front of Chase.
Seeing that she couldn't stop it, Grace decided to come clean with Xavier first, "I have to confess, this wasn't my idea. I don't know why Grandpa likes Sterling so much."
Compared to the silent and stern Xavier, Sterling was cunning and never showed his true thoughts.
During the meal, Chase couldn't stop praising Sterling.
But before dinner was over, there was a knock on the private room door. A waiter came in carrying a lot of things.
"A gentleman sent these these was."
"A gentleman? Where is he?" Grace wondered if it was Xavier.
"Outside," the waiter said.
Grace quickly went out and indeed saw Xavier outside.
"What are you doing here?"
"Someone's trying to impress, so of course, I had to come and see." Hearing that Sterling had met Chase before him, Xavier couldn't stand it.
Even though he knew Grace and Sterling were impossible, if Chase liked Sterling, Sterling would definitely come to annoy him.
He knew Sterling very well.
Sterling was definitely doing it on purpose!
"I didn't expect to have dinner with Sterling. Are you angry?"
Xavier shook his head. Even if he was angry, it was at himself.
If it weren't for what he did before, Sterling wouldn't have had any chance. The Wallace family would have been satisfied with him.
In front of the Coleman family, Xavier had no confidence in making them like him.
If one day, his daughter was treated like this, Xavier wouldn't let that man off either.
"Then why did you suddenly come over?"
Xavier said, "I was passing by, so I came to take a look."
Grace didn't believe him at all. At this moment, Chase and Scott came out.
Chase looked at Xavier angrily, raised his cane, and hit Xavier directly, "How dare you show up!"
"Grandpa!" Grace exclaimed. Seeing Chase's force, she wanted to stop him, but it was too late.
Chase's cane hit Xavier hard. If Xavier wanted to dodge, he could have, but he didn't. He took the hit head-on.
She heard the sound of the cane hitting Xavier. It must have hurt a lot.
Xavier stopped Grace and stood there, letting Chase hit him.
"Get out of here!" Chase was furious at the sight of Xavier.
His beloved Grace had been treated like this by Xavier.
"Grandpa," Grace coaxed, "Calm down. I know you're angry, but it's not what you think between Xavier and me. I'll explain it to you later, okay?"
"I'm sorry!" Xavier bent down and gave Chase a very solemn apology.
"What's the use of saying sorry?" Thinking of how he first saw Grace, Chase secretly wiped away tears. Grace was pitiful, always gloomy, and like a walking corpse.
"I know words are empty, and you might not believe me, but I truly love Grace and want to be with her for the rest of my life. I swear, I will love her with my life and never hurt her."
Xavier spoke very earnestly. This was his heartfelt truth.
However, Chase didn't believe him at all, "Who needs you to love her? Many people love Grace."
Having hurt Grace, Xavier had no right to stand by her side, but Chase knew Grace liked him.
These past few days, Grace had been sneaking out late at night, most likely because of Xavier!
