Chapter 360 I Have No Intention of Sleeping in Separate Rooms Yet
So, Xavier hopped on the earliest flight and got there ASAP. Even though he was swamped with work back home and didn't catch a wink on the plane, seeing Grace made it all worth it.
When Xavier said, "I missed you," Grace's eyes lit up with pure affection.
"I missed you, too," she replied, and before she could say anything else, Xavier pulled her in for a passionate kiss.
He wrapped his arm around her waist, kissing her deeply, pouring all his love and longing into that moment.
Even though Xavier knew everything Grace had been through, he still felt a bit uneasy.
Things were pretty wild in Aetheria, especially with Grace meeting so many people, including the princess.
But Xavier's familiar kiss and scent washed away all of Grace's fatigue.
After being apart for a few days, they missed each other like crazy. In this moment, silence spoke louder than words.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Ms. Lewis, are you there? Ms. Lewis, are you asleep?" It was Lily.
Lily also rang the doorbell. They had gone out and brought back a bunch of tasty food for Grace.
Grace was startled and stared at the door, but Xavier didn't want to interfere.
Why did someone always interrupt whenever he and Grace were having a moment?
Usually, when they knocked or rang the doorbell, Grace would answer. She didn't like going out much; instead, they'd go out, grab some delicious food, and bring it back for her.
Why hadn't Grace opened the door yet? Was she not there?
Lily said to the person next to her, "I have a spare key. If Ms. Lewis isn't here, we can leave the food inside for her."
With that, Lily took out the key, but just as she was about to swipe it, the door opened.
Lily hadn't even seen who it was before she started talking, "Ms. Lewis, I thought you weren't home. I brought you..."
Lily was shocked to see Xavier standing there instead of Grace!
"Mr. Montgomery!" Lily's eyes widened. She had no idea when Xavier had arrived.
"We didn't know you were here. We'll leave now. This is for Ms. Lewis." Lily handed over the food.
"Thanks." Xavier took it and closed the door.
Lily and the others were still outside, trying to process what had just happened.
They were caught off guard and quickly got excited, replaying Xavier's behavior in their minds.
"Did you see that? Mr. Montgomery's suit was a bit messy. Ms. Lewis must've done that!" one of them said.
Lily added, "I also saw that Mr. Montgomery's lips were a bit red. That was definitely a lipstick mark!"
"Yeah, Ms. Lewis didn't open the door for so long. They must've been... you know. We probably interrupted them."
"Just thinking about it is exciting. Oh my God, I really like them together. This is definitely true love!"
"Mr. Montgomery came all this way just for Ms. Lewis. He must really care about her. I hope they stay happy together forever!"
The employees chatted as they left. Inside the room, Grace was hiding, not daring to come out.
She had planned to open the door, but Xavier said he'd do it.
She knew that opening the door would make Lily and the others overthink things, so Grace chose to hide instead.
"Here are some snacks they brought." Xavier brought over the food he had prepared as well. "So, Ms. Lewis, whose food do you want to eat first?"
"Can't I eat both?" Grace took all the food.
She set the food on the table and opened it up.
Xavier had brought some goodies from back home, while Lily and the others had brought local snacks. Everything on the table looked mouthwatering.
Grace wasn't super hungry, but she appreciated their thoughtfulness, so she decided to dig into both.
She handed a pair of utensils to Xavier. "Wanna eat together?"
Xavier took the utensils and started serving her. "Enjoy."
"Well, I'm not exactly starving," Grace said, eyeing the mountain of food Xavier had piled on her plate.
Xavier's voice was gentle. "Just eat what you can."
"Okay." Grace ate slowly and carefully. Maybe it was because the food Xavier brought was just what she liked, but she managed to eat without feeling queasy.
After dinner, Grace felt too lazy to move, so Xavier took care of the cleanup.
Grace sat cross-legged on the sofa, watching him. "Where are you staying tonight?"
This wasn't a fancy hotel, and she worried Xavier wouldn't be comfortable.
After all, Xavier usually stayed in five-star presidential suites. This was just a single room.
Xavier smiled. "I don't plan on sleeping in separate rooms."
Grace blushed.
"But this place is small," she continued.
"Small?" Xavier walked over and lifted her chin. "Are you saying there's not enough room?"
"I didn't mean that!" Grace quickly denied, her eyes wide.
She definitely didn't mean that!
Xavier's soft laugh reached her ears. "It's okay. When we get back home, my place is big."
"I'm not..." Before she could finish, Xavier cupped her chin and kissed her, like he couldn't get enough.
But Xavier was just teasing. He knew Grace hadn't slept well the past few days because of the time difference, so he didn't push her too much.
They shared a cozy moment on the sofa before heading to the bathroom for a shower. Xavier held back, then cradled Grace back to the bed, letting her sleep in his arms.
Feeling his familiar scent, Grace wrapped her arms around his waist and slept soundly.
Xavier set aside his work and just stayed with her.
After a rare good night's sleep, Grace felt much better the next day.
With work done and Xavier here, Grace wasn't in a hurry to go back.
"How many days off do you have? Are you in a rush to go back?" Grace asked.
"No rush," Xavier replied.
"If there's no rush, let's go out today. It's my first time in Aetheria, and there are so many fun places I haven't seen. Lily and the others are out exploring every day," Grace said.
"You said you were going back today, so you didn't plan to go out with them?" Xavier asked.
"That was the plan, but now there's no rush," Grace responded.
Xavier understood. She was eager to get back to him.
He took her hand, and they spent the whole day exploring together.
Aetheria is a major tourist spot with lots of cool places to visit. Xavier had been here many times for work but never really got to hang out. This was his first time.
They spent two days having a blast. Grace thought she wouldn't be able to attend the awards ceremony for the perfume competition, but the timing turned out perfect.
Jett also invited Grace to attend. After thinking it over, she agreed. That trophy was hers, and she wanted to receive it in person!
