Chapter 649 Dining with Sterling Seen by Killer

Grace walked home with her son, Marcus, without saying much along the way.

Marcus clung to Grace's arm and softly called, "Mommy."

Grace gently patted his head. "You can't run off like that again, okay?"

"Got it, Mommy."

Neither of them mentioned Killer. Once they arrived at the Coleman Villa, Grace told Marcus to wash up and go to bed.

Back in her room, Grace found herself unable to sleep.

She had been in Aetheria for two days and had just received a message from Sterling.

[Grace, are you still in Aetheria?]

[Yeah, Mr. Wallace. What's up?]

Grace and Sterling had developed a good relationship. When she first took over DG Group, Sterling had helped her a lot.

Although Sterling didn't interfere with her work, he had protected her from many who tried to bring her down.

Over the years, the Wallace Group and DG Group had become partners rather than competitors.

Sterling, now in his early thirties, was still unmarried and one of the most eligible bachelors around.

Many women wanted to be Mrs. Wallace, but Sterling never gave them a chance.

Occasionally, Grace would see a woman with Sterling and joke, "New girlfriend?" But by the next day, that woman would be gone.

Grace didn't think much of it, but others noticed that the women Sterling chose often resembled her.

Sterling didn't consider himself a one-woman man. To him, women were just tools for mutual benefit.

He needed to satisfy his desires, and some women wanted money.

He never forced anyone; it was all voluntary.

Of course, if anyone tried to get more serious or clingy, he had ways to make them leave.

"I'm here in Aetheria for a couple of days to relax. If you have time, be my tour guide and join me for a meal. I haven't seen Marcus in a while either."

"Sure, when are you arriving?" Grace had no other plans.

"Today."

"Alright." She agreed.

When Sterling arrived, he brought plenty of gifts for Marcus. "Thanks, Mr. Wallace."

Marcus liked Sterling quite a bit.

Sterling joked, "I told you to call me Uncle Sterling. Why won't you?"

"You're not my uncle!"

"Grace, look at your son. What's wrong with having one more uncle?"

Grace smiled. She had once joked with Xavier that if he ever left her, she'd take their son and have him call someone else 'Dad.'

But when Marcus was born and Sterling suggested he call him 'Uncle,' Grace refused.

Marcus had an aunt, Angela, and many influential people wanted to be his uncle. Not just Sterling, but also Robert, Victor, and Colin had offered, but Grace turned them all down.

Grace took Sterling around Aetheria, and in the evening, they found a restaurant with a local vibe.

After ordering, Sterling asked, "When are you heading back? There are a bunch of projects waiting for you."

"No rush. I have some things to handle here."

"What things? I heard you went to Thalassia recently."

"Yeah, for business."

"That place is a mess. Hugh Ramirez runs the biggest gang there. His family practically controls Thalassia, and even the king listens to them. Their influence is growing fast."

Grace had learned about this during her visit, but luckily, she hadn't run into the gang directly.

"I was just there for business, not trouble. No way I'd bump into them."

"Alright." Sterling nodded and started peeling a crab, placing the meat in Grace's bowl.

"I can do it myself, or we could ask the server," Grace said.

Sterling peeling crab for her would definitely raise eyebrows.

"It's no big deal. We've known each other forever, and you were my tour guide today. Consider this a thank you."

"Well, if you put it that way, I won't refuse." Grace accepted.

Sterling kept peeling crab for Grace, who didn't have to lift a finger.

Growing up in Skigeth, Grace had always loved seafood.

At the entrance, a man paused, staring intently at them, his gaze icy and filled with menace.

The people in front of him noticed he had stopped and turned back. "Mr. K, did you see someone you know?"

Killer withdrew his gaze, his voice cold. "No."

"Please, this way. This is one of the most popular restaurants in Aetheria." The person speaking was a government official whom Killer had met before.

They had agreed to work with Killer, so they were dining together today.

Killer's identity wasn't public, so they called him Mr. K.

"Alright." Killer walked forward, but his eyes kept drifting back to Grace.

Was the man with Grace a friend?

Killer sensed the man's formidable presence, likely someone important.

What was his relationship with Grace? Did she find him, or did he find her?

Grace had said she would find someone else if she needed a man. It seemed she had done just that.

Grace, facing away from the door, didn't see Killer. Sterling, however, did, and their eyes met. Sterling felt the weight of Killer's gaze and frowned. He didn't know the man, but it felt like he was an enemy.

Noticing Sterling's look, Grace turned to see what was up.

"What's wrong?" Grace saw nothing, as Killer had already entered a private room with the officials.

"Nothing." Sterling didn't ignore that look. It reminded him of Xavier's intense gaze.

But he didn't tell Grace. She was too sensitive about Xavier.
