Chapter 138 Xavier's Girlfriend

"Grace, Grace!" Angela's voice rang out from a distance.
Grace walked over. "Angela, are you okay?"
"I should be asking you that. Are you okay? You scared me to death when you rushed over." Angela still felt a lingering fear.
"I'm fine. Did your car have issues too? The brakes didn't work at all," Grace said.
Angela nodded. "Do you think someone tampered with our cars? Let's go check."

The speed was too fast, so it was only halfway through that Angela felt something was wrong. But she couldn't slow down at all. Luckily, Grace bumped into her, giving her a chance to decelerate.

"Did you see who was driving that red car just now?"
Angela looked around. "Isn't that Ryan's car?"
She was also on the racetrack and didn't know what had happened on Grace's side.
Angela was puzzled. "What's up? Do you think Ryan did it?"

As she spoke, Angela found it quite reasonable. "It must be Ryan. If not Ryan, then Kelly. No one else knew we were racing here."
"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet. Before making any assumptions, let’s check the car first."

Grace had been busy looking for the driver and hadn't checked her car immediately. Now that they were in front of the car, they found that the brake had been smeared with a strong corrosive agent, completely severing the brake line.
While they were driving, the power and heat accelerated the corrosion, causing the brakes to fail halfway through.

"Whoever did this is ruthless, he was trying to kill us!" Angela cursed.
If they hadn't been lucky, they might have had an accident today.
"It must be Kelly. Let's go confront them!" Angela suspected. When she and Grace were picking cars, only Kelly and Ryan saw them, so it had to be them.

"I don't think it's necessarily Kelly. Ryan may be shameless, but he wouldn't do something murderous. Kelly is too focused on Ryan to prepare. Plus, preparing such a strong corrosive agent suggests premeditation. Running into Ryan was just a coincidence."
Grace analyzed briefly, but Angela still didn't get it. "Then who do you think it is?"

"When we arrived, someone came to hassle me but left without explaining anything. She must have had more than just questions."
Angela immediately thought of someone. "You mean Jessica? Let's go find her!"
"Wait!" Grace pulled Angela back. "She won't admit it without evidence."

"Then what do we do? They've probably destroyed all the evidence by now. Are we just going to let Jessica get away with it?" Angela couldn't resist her anger.
It was luck for them to be saved this time; they might not be so lucky next time.

Grace thought for a moment and whispered in Angela's ear, "Of course not. Since Jessica did this, she must still be around. Here's the plan."
Angela nodded. "Alright, let's make Jessica feel the same way!"

But before that, Grace wanted to find out who was in the red sports car.
She felt it wasn't Ryan.

Even though it was over, the audience was still discussing.
"I remember that red race car seemed to be Ryan's. Ryan took it for a couple of laps earlier."
"I also remember it was Ryan, but Ryan didn't have such skills before. Could he have been hiding his talent all along?"

Victor looked around but didn't see Xavier.
He had a feeling that the person in the red car just now wasn't Ryan, but Xavier.
Although they hadn't seen much of each other since Xavier left Skigeth, Victor felt that Xavier was no ordinary person. The speed of the race just now made it clear that Xavier was there to save Grace.

After parking his car, Xavier went straight back to the stands. His expression remained indifferent, and he was even dressed in a suit.
It was as if he hadn't just driven three laps on the track. Even his neatly combed hair was still perfectly in place.

As soon as Xavier arrived, he heard a voice. "Xavier!"
Xavier looked up and saw Stephanie running towards him.
A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. "Stephanie?"
Stephanie immediately clung to Xavier's arm, "Long time no see. Did you miss me?"
She was practically glued to Xavier, throwing herself into his arms. The scent on Xavier was still so familiar, though it now had a faint hint of cologne.

"Stephanie!" Xavier called her name in a warning tone, trying to pull his arm away.
But Stephanie held on tightly. "What's wrong? You've been in Skigeth for so long, and I couldn't reach you. What's so special about this poor place that makes you stay?"
Then Stephanie smiled. "I heard you've been busy, so I didn't bother you. Did you come here because you knew I was coming?"

Stephanie was thrilled, partly because she saw Xavier and partly because he might have come here specifically to see her.

"Let go!" Xavier's voice carried a warning, tinged with impatience.
Stephanie knew about Xavier's aversion to being touched and that he didn't like people invading his personal space.
However, she desired to touch Xavier to demonstrate her uniqueness among the crowd.

Xavier was a gentleman. Even if he was touched, he would be displeased but wouldn't lose his temper with a woman.

If Xavier couldn't handle the situation, Stephanie would step in to assist him. She was determined to shield Xavier from the attention of those misguided women who brought him unnecessary problems. In particular, Jessica— who did she think she was, daring to flirt with Xavier!

Grace and Angela came up from the parking lot, ready to find Jessica. However, before they reached the stands, Grace saw a familiar figure.
Grace stopped in her tracks, and Angela was momentarily puzzled. "What's wrong, Grace?"

Grace pursed her lips, and Angela followed her gaze to spot Xavier not far away, accompanied by a woman who was clinging onto him.
They were unfamiliar with this woman, but their initial impression was that she shared an unusual relationship with Xavier. Angela and Grace had never witnessed a woman being so intimately close to Xavier, almost as if she were glued to him.
It looked like she was Xavier's girlfriend.

"Let's go," Grace said, glancing away.
"Just like that?" Angela, still processing what she had just witnessed, hurriedly followed Grace as she left.
