Chapter 258 I Do Like Grace

"You sure know how to pick a spot; this place is great. Look how packed it is," Victor said, trying to ease the tension.

Xavier shot back, "Picking a crowded place isn't smart; it's just dumb."

Victor went quiet.

He thought, 'Grace has a seat. Xavier's the one without a seat, so why's he dissing himself?'

Victor was trying to help, but Xavier kept making it hard.

"If you can't say something nice, don't say anything. Grace clearly has good taste," Victor said, sitting across from Grace.

It was a table for four. Grace and Omari were sitting across from each other. Now, with Victor next to Omari, Xavier would have to sit next to Grace.

Victor said, "Grace, I meant to treat Xavier, but I forgot to book a table. What were you guys talking about? Anyone else coming? Can we join?"

"We were talking about work. Others were supposed to come, but they bailed last minute," Grace explained.

Victor shot Xavier a look. "See? Grace is explaining it now."

Grace was confused, thinking, 'When did I explain anything to Xavier?'

"Great, the more, the merrier. Let's all chat. Maybe we can even collaborate," Victor suggested.

Omari stayed silent.

His carefully planned dinner with Grace was ruined by Xavier and Victor!

Grace was usually too busy to meet up. He had mentioned others would be there, which is why she agreed.

Next time, Grace wouldn't fall for this trick.

Omari glared at Xavier.

Xavier ignored it and pulled out the chair next to Grace, sitting down.

Grace felt pressured with Xavier next to her.

She moved her chair a bit to create some space.

When she and Xavier were together, they rarely saw each other. Now that they were over, they kept bumping into each other. It was weird.

Xavier noticed Grace moving her chair and frowned.

He pondered, 'What was Grace's deal? Now that Omari was here, she was avoiding me?'

"What did you order? Let's add more," Victor called the waiter over.

Victor looked at the menu and pointed. "This one, and this one."

Then he flipped the page and pointed at a few more.

Grace was surprised Victor picked the cheapest dishes, which wasn't like him.

Before she could ask, Victor said, "We'll have everything else on the menu except for the ones I pointed out earlier."

Grace was stunned. "Mr. Hastings, we can't eat all that."

Victor had nearly ordered the entire menu.

Victor replied, "Who said we have to eat it all? Pack it up and send it to this address. I have employees working late. Mr. Montgomery is treating today, so he can cover it. I'll add a few more dishes for us."

Victor kept ordering.

Grace was speechless. Victor was taking advantage of Xavier. Wouldn't Xavier get mad?

Victor wasn't doing this for free. He had to get something out of it, and this amount of money was nothing to Xavier.

After finishing, Victor shamelessly looked at Xavier. "Mr. Montgomery, you don't mind, right?"

Xavier calmly replied, "Of course not."

Victor said, "Great. I knew Mr. Montgomery was generous. Look at him, so wealthy and successful. Grace, when you look for a boyfriend, make sure he's not poor, not petty, and not too ugly. Find someone like me or Xavier, got it?"

Grace was silent.

Was Victor implying Omari was poor, ugly, and petty?

In front of Xavier, anyone would seem poor and less attractive.

As for being petty, she thought Xavier was quite petty!

Grace instinctively glanced at Omari, who seemed unaffected.

"Mr. Hastings, what are you talking about? We're just discussing business," Grace said, feeling embarrassed.

Victor said, "Exactly, I didn't say you and Mr. Turner were dating."

Everyone except Victor felt suffocated.

Omari chuckled lightly. "I do like Grace."

Grace was stunned, her heart skipped a beat, and her pupils dilated.

She thought, 'What was Omari saying? How could Omari like me? Was he saying this on purpose because he didn't get along with Xavier?'

Even Victor didn't expect Omari to admit it so straightforwardly. He instinctively glanced at Xavier.

"I've liked Grace for many years but never had the chance to say it. Thanks to Mr. Hastings and Mr. Montgomery, I can finally express it," Omari said lightly. Omari was usually reserved and timid. He had liked Grace for a long time but never expressed it.

He thought that by distancing himself from Grace, these feelings towards her would gradually fade away. However, as he grew older, he realized that this was not the case.

Grace had a unique charm, like a spring breeze. Grace might not even remember, but she had encouraged him when they were kids.

Afraid of disturbing Grace, Omari never dared to confess until now.

Hearing Omari's words and meeting his warm and gentle gaze, Grace didn't feel her heart race. Instead, she felt flustered and didn't know how to respond.

She didn't expect Omari to like her. She thought he was joking.

She wasn't particularly attractive and didn't interact much with Omari. What did Omari like about her? Maybe she should change it?

"Omari, are you joking? You..." Grace asked.

"I'm not joking. I just don't want to miss out anymore." Omari's gaze was fixed on Xavier.

Omari said, "And I knew her first."

He had known Grace since they were teenagers, much longer than Xavier had.
