Chapter 70 Xavier's Unnoticed Jealousy

For a moment, Xavier's pressure seemed even lower.
Grace was afraid she didn't make herself clear. "I understand what you just said to Jessica. It wasn't just for her."
"I've already said that I won't say a word outside or cause any trouble for Xavier. You can rest assured."
Xavier's gaze was intense. He had only said those words to Jessica.
Grace's perspective spared them further complications.
"Keep your distance from Omari," Xavier said, his brows knitting together as his voice took on a chillier edge.
It was more of a warning than a declaration.
"Hmm?" Grace didn't react immediately. Xavier was referring to Omari?
"Omari and I are not what you think. We are just friends. He is Angela's brother and knows that I am Angela's best friend, so he came to support her," Grace explained.
She rarely saw Omari, but sometimes, when she was with Angela, He would come to pick up his sister.
Grace had also told Angela that Omari was really nice to her.
Would an ordinary friend be so impatient to wipe Grace's hands when they spilled water?
However, Xavier didn't say anything about this.
"I hope you always remember your identity. You are someone with a fiancé," Xavier stated.
Grace fell silent.
She knew Xavier was going to say that. He had reminded her several times about her engagement with Ryan. It wasn't like she was unaware of it.
As long as she hadn't broken off her engagement with Ryan, she couldn't consider herself completely free.
"When did Xavier become so conservative? Merely bound by an unresolved engagement, even if I were to wed, my freedom to cultivate friendships remains intact. I haven't done anything improper. Who says I can't even have male friends?"
Furthermore, she and Omari were not even friends.
Upon hearing Grace's words, Xavier's brow furrowed even tighter.
So, is Grace shielding Omari?
"Is it acceptable to embrace male friends freely?"
Grace tried to recall when they had embraced, but she couldn't remember that. She thought for a moment and realized that Omari had come close and removed a stray strand from her head.
So Xavier had seen it? How long did he watch?
Then she chuckled. "Xavier, you appear rather jealous in this guise."
"You presume too much. I simply offer a gentle reminder from an elder's vantage point," he replied.
An elder indeed, yet not significantly older than her.
And now he was referring to himself as an elder?
When he flirted with her in the study last time, he didn't think of himself as an elder.
"Alright, alright, I shall heed Xavier's teachings."
While speaking, the two had already walked to the door.
Grace led him out through the staff corridor, where there were few people.
"Thank you for taking the time to come. Goodbye, Xavier!"
Xavier loosened his tie around his neck before stepping into the chauffeur-driven vehicle.
The congestion, a result of the bustling crowd, impeded the vehicle's progress as it slowly departed. Xavier looked at the reflection through the rearview mirror, and Grace hadn't gone inside yet.
Xavier picked up his phone, tapped on his contacts, and sent Samuel a message: [Thanks.]
Soon, Samuel replied: [It's really rare that someone like you can say thank you.]
He had indeed been called here by Xavier. How else could a big movie star wander into a place like this, and it just happened to be such a small store?
He and Xavier had been friends for many years. His hometown was Skigeth, and he just happened to come back to visit in the past two days.
When Xavier arrived at the mall, he saw the promotional posters from the Lewis Group and realized they had hired someone to attract customers.
He guessed that Grace wouldn't have any business because of that. Thinking that Samuel happened to be in Skigeth, Xavier made one phone call and brought him over.
He understood that Grace disdained promoting products through such means, yet sometimes it was necessary. Celebrity endorsements remain the most direct and effective method of product promotion.
Although he had already given Grace a grand opening gift, he didn't mind giving another one, considering it as compensation for the two previous times they had a sexual relationship.
Of course, Xavier didn't want Grace to know that he had called Samuel, so he quickly tapped the screen a few times with his finger and sent the message.
"Don't tell her."
After the car disappeared into the flow of traffic, Grace headed back.
It was still quite far from her home, and she noticed a large crowd gathering there. She could barely squeeze her way in.
Why were there suddenly so many people? Madison's store wasn't that close to hers. Could her fans really be queuing up here?
Just then, Grace heard the excited voices of those fans.
"This is unbelievable! We can see Samuel here!"
"Exactly! Samuel is a once-in-a-century phenomenon. Michael Carter doesn't even come close to him."
"Look at the trending topics on Twitter. It's almost all about Samuel. It's just a simple hello in the livestream, and he's already trending. He's the only one who has this kind of impact."
"I missed the live stream; what a loss! By the time I got in, Samuel had already left the livestream. But the number of viewers has reached almost a million now, all begging Samuel to come back and say something."
"Look, Samuel tweeted and even recommended this store's perfume. I'm going to buy the same one. I'll do whatever it takes to get it!"
Hearing the discussions among the people, Grace had a general idea of what happened. After Samuel said hello in the livestream, his fans quickly found out he was there. And Michael's fans all left and came here to see Samuel.
Grace's store was now jam-packed, and the products on the official website were completely sold out.
Angela called Grace to share the good news of the sold-out products and asked if they should restock on the official website.
Grace didn't even have to think twice before declining. "Let's hold off on restocking the website for now."
"Why? Grace, you didn't see how crazy it was. The livestream almost exploded. With so many people here, if we put the link up now, we can definitely make the Lewis Group's annual earnings. You'd make a fortune."
It should have been a happy occasion, but Grace didn't feel particularly happy about it.
She had never intended to rely on celebrity effects, but now she felt indebted to Samuel.
"Angela, what do you think this Samuel is like?"
"Samuel? That's quite a tale to tell."
Samuel doesn't participate in variety shows or reality shows, much less live broadcasts or anything.
After listening, Grace asked, "Don't you find it strange?"
"What's strange?" Samuel's allure clouded Angela's mind.
"Since Samuel is so low-key, how did he end up in my small shop? You even mentioned that Samuel wouldn't participate in the live broadcast, yet he greeted me in my live-stream room. It seems intentional for him to come here, but neither of us knows him. Who could have brought him here?"
Grace couldn't understand this situation.
