Chapter 552 It's a Pity, You Can't Be the President of DG

When Grace came out of the bathroom, the situation had taken a surprising turn.

How did Xavier end up with only two cards left in his hand?

"You lost," Xavier said, laying down his last two cards.

Grace remembered that when she left, Xavier was getting completely crushed by Sterling.

Sterling leaned back on the couch. "I'm done playing!"

Annoying!

Why did someone like Xavier even exist? How did his brain work?

From Grace's expression, Sterling had initially deduced that Xavier had a terrible hand, so he played with great confidence.

At first, Xavier played terribly, but then suddenly, things changed.

Sterling had underestimated him and ended up losing.

"Do you ever get tired of scheming all the time?" Sterling asked bluntly.

He didn't like Xavier's tactical games; Xavier was too calculating!

"Your intelligence doesn't require me to scheme," Xavier replied dismissively, clearly not taking Sterling seriously.

Grace worried that the two might start fighting and tugged on Xavier's sleeve, signaling him to say less.

"Who do you think you're looking down on? You've been scheming from the start!"

"You were too confident. God gave you good cards and opportunities but didn't give you a good brain. You thought you could easily beat me, so you got cocky. You saw from Grace's expression that my hand wasn't good, which made you even more certain you'd win, and you didn't take precautions."

Xavier analyzed calmly. Grace didn't realize she had played a part in this. Was her expression really that obvious?

And how did Xavier know Sterling had noticed her expression?

Sterling fell silent.

He didn't like Xavier's roundabout way of speaking; Sterling preferred directness.

It was just a game of cards, losing was losing.

Since Sterling had said he was done playing, Xavier stood up. "It's a shame you won't be the CEO of DG."

Grace remained silent.

Xavier was clearly provoking Sterling, openly challenging him without fear of retaliation.

"Let's go," Xavier said to Grace.

Sterling watched them leave, fuming. Did Xavier cheat?

Sterling called his secretary. "Find me a new girlfriend."

The secretary wiped his sweat. They had just gotten together, and it hadn't even been a day.

The secretary found another woman for Sterling, but Sterling quickly lost interest and asked for another.

One after another, the secretary picked high-quality women, but Sterling was clearly dissatisfied with all of them.

"Mr. Wallace, maybe you should stop looking?"

After so many women, Sterling was still unhappy. It seemed he wasn't looking for a girlfriend but a replacement, someone like Grace.

"No! Keep looking!"

Xavier wasn't single, so he couldn't be either. Maybe Xavier was secretly mocking him.

Besides, a man like him shouldn't have trouble finding a girlfriend.

Sterling's search for a girlfriend quickly spread.

Many women were eager but were scared off by Sterling.

The news reached Brittany, and her eyes gleamed. Sterling was looking for a girlfriend?

She smirked, finding the requirements interesting.

Brittany contacted Sterling's secretary, confident that her qualifications would catch Sterling's eye.

Sure enough, Brittany was soon brought to Sterling's residence. The place was spacious, a testament to the fortune Skigeth's real estate developers had made in recent years. These tycoons casually bought properties that most people couldn't afford in a lifetime.

Families like Sterling's and the Coleman family bought multiple properties without a second thought. And Xavier's Bameran Villa was the city's top luxury home.

The secretary entered. "Mr. Wallace, here's your new girlfriend."

Sterling, smoking, looked up without much hope, given his dissatisfaction with the recent candidates.

Seeing Brittany, Sterling's pupils contracted. "What's she doing here? Get out!"

"Mr. Wallace, she..."

"Didn't you hear me?" Sterling was furious at the sight of Brittany.

Brittany spoke up, "Mr. Wallace, don't be hasty. I heard you were looking for a girlfriend and came to recommend myself. I'm very qualified."

Brittany was confident. She had been groomed from a young age, excelling in various areas. She believed she was outstanding.

Her looks and figure were top-notch, better than most women.

Her work skills were strong too. Brittany could do anything, not inferior to Grace.

Sterling was known to be hard to approach, yet Grace managed to have a good relationship with him. What kind of fate made so many tycoons revolve around Grace?

"Get out." Sterling genuinely disliked Brittany. Though he didn't know her well, he disliked everyone from the Lewis family except Grace.

Brittany continued as if she hadn't heard. "Mr. Wallace, maybe you don't know me well, or perhaps Grace has said bad things about me, causing a misunderstanding."

"Let me introduce myself. I have a master's degree from a prestigious overseas university and experience running my own company. My looks are unmatched by most. I meet all your requirements, and I can fulfill any needs or preferences you have."

Sterling had lost patience. He pulled out a gun and aimed at Brittany. Before she could react, he fired.

The gunshot echoed, and Brittany froze, not daring to move.

The bullet grazed past her, shattering a million-dollar antique vase, causing a loud crash.

A slight deviation would have hit Brittany directly.

Brittany had heard rumors about Sterling but didn't expect him to carry a gun at all times and be ready to shoot.

"Ms. Lewis, please leave," the secretary said politely.

He could see Sterling's strong dislike for Brittany.

Brittany's eyes flashed with determination. If Grace could win over Sterling, she believed she could too. She would find another way; there would be more opportunities.

After escorting Brittany out, the secretary returned and apologized to Sterling. "I'm sorry, Mr. Wallace."

He had failed to choose the right person and brought her to Sterling.

"Dock a month's bonus. You know what to do if you see Brittany again."

"I understand," the secretary replied respectfully.

"Alright, you can go."

Sterling rubbed his temples. Why was it so hard to find a girlfriend?
