Chapter 388 Worrying About Her

Scott was like, "Yeah, totally. Remember when we bumped into her at the airport? Her eyes looked just like Auntie's. So we did some digging and found out she's Auntie's kid."

"No way. Wendy's eyes can't look like mine," Grace said, super curious. "I don't get it, but we should definitely look into this more."

Steven and Thomas shared a look. Steven said, "She wouldn't even take off her sunglasses; something's definitely up."

Thomas was like, "But the hospital report can't be wrong. How do you explain that?"

Steven replied, "Our guys will be here soon. We'll do another DNA test then."

Steven didn't trust any of the hospitals in Skigeth. If Patrick had interfered, the Montgomery family's influence was so pervasive they could easily bribe more than one.

Grace remained fixated on the resemblance between Wendy's eyes and her own. Could Wendy actually be a Coleman?

No matter what, they all enjoyed the meal.

After dinner, Chase held Grace's hands and chatted with her for ages.

It seemed like they had endless things to talk about; even late into the night, Chase kept talking to Grace. Steven and the others had to spend a long time convincing Chase that it was time to rest and that Grace needed to go home and rest too. Finally, Chase agreed.

Steven wanted to drive Grace home, but she had driven herself, so she said no.

Steven said, "Thanks for keeping Grandpa company. We don't spend much time with him, and he doesn't like talking to us. But with you, he's like a kid."

"I love chatting with your grandpa. He's awesome, and I really like him. If he ever misses me, just let me know, and I'll come visit." Grace smiled.

After saying goodbye to Steven, Grace went home.

As soon as she got home, the house felt cold and empty. Grace had always lived alone, but suddenly, it felt different.

Grace went to her study to keep working.

She was tired but couldn't sleep.

She planned to schedule an abortion soon. Since she decided to end the pregnancy, she shouldn't have any second thoughts.

But when she was alone, her mind was filled with thoughts that made her heart ache.

Angela had been staying with Grace these past few days, trying to ensure she got enough sleep. Even though Grace lay in bed all night without sleeping, she still went to bed early to maintain the pretense.

The next evening, Sterling called Grace and asked her out for dinner.

Grace had promised Sterling at the airport a few days ago, so she went.

But Sterling picked a bar instead of a restaurant.

It was a bar owned by Victor, a place where Victor and his friends often hung out. It was private and quiet.

When Grace got to the private room, Sterling was already there.

"Long time no see, Grace," Sterling smiled, his eyes as mysterious as ever.

Grace said, "Mr. Wallace, are you here in Skigeth for business?"

Sterling said, "Business or fun, if there's no business, you can always find some fun."

Their dinner was still really fancy.

Grace nodded, "Alright, but if Mr. Wallace wants to talk about the previous matter, my answer is still the same."

Sterling smiled, "I wasn't planning to bring that up. Have you been online recently?"

"What's that?" Grace was confused.

Sterling pulled out his phone and handed it to Grace. It was a news article about the heir of the Park family and the CEO of the DG Group being spotted together, sparking relationship rumors. Stephanie had even hinted at an upcoming wedding in front of the media.

Even though the news got taken down quickly, a lot of people had already seen it.

Grace glanced at it, unfazed. "What does this have to do with me?"

Sterling looked at her and said, "Seems like you and Xavier are having some issues. Did you guys break up?"

"That's between me and him. No need for you to worry, Mr. Wallace," Grace replied coldly.

Sterling raised his glass, "Very well, Ms. Lewis. I admire your directness. I enjoy the company of forthright people."

Grace knew she shouldn't be drinking because she was pregnant, but she felt so troubled that she really wanted a drink.

After clinking glasses with Sterling, Grace downed her drink in one go.

"Ms. Lewis, you can really hold your liquor," Sterling said, pouring her another drink.

Grace was a bit distracted all evening. She drank quite a bit but didn't get drunk.

Sterling watched her, knowing she had a lot on her mind. She wasn't as carefree as she seemed.

Rather than keeping it inside, it was better to drink it out.

But clearly, Grace hadn't drunk enough to let it all out.

Soon, dinner was over, and Sterling took Grace to the next private room.

Sterling ordered more wine and had it sent to the room.

Victor often brought friends here to drink. Seeing the staff carrying a ton of alcohol into a private room, Victor couldn't help but ask, "Who ordered all that liquor?"

The staff replied, "A Mr. Wallace, I believe."

"Wallace?" Victor was intrigued.

He walked to the private room door and peeked inside, seeing Sterling.

Victor was shocked. He was on Xavier's side, and Sterling was Xavier's enemy, making him Victor's enemy too. He still remembered the incident at the resort.

Victor also saw Grace inside!

He remembered Grace was with Xavier in Oakworth. When did she come back?

What was Sterling up to? Was he targeting Grace because he couldn't get to Xavier?

He quickly called Xavier. It took a while for Xavier to answer, "This is Xavier."

Xavier was still in his office, surrounded by a pile of documents, still working.

He had always suffered from insomnia, and Grace had been his remedy. Now that the remedy was gone, Xavier reverted to his former state.

"Xavier, it's me," Victor said.

"What's your point?" Xavier knew Victor well.

"I just came to the bar. Do you know what I saw?" Victor said playfully.

"Spit it out. Don't beat around the bush," Xavier huffed.

"I saw Sterling. He ordered a lot of wine, and Grace is in the private room with him. He must be up to no good. It looks like all the wine is for Grace. What if he does something to her?"

Not many people knew about Xavier and Grace's breakup. Victor, being in Skigeth, naturally wasn't one of the insiders.

"What?" Xavier frowned, his heart tightening.

Wasn't Sterling supposed to be in Oakworth? When did he go to Skigeth and find Grace?

"I saw it with my own eyes. Sterling is definitely up to something. Grace is drinking one glass after another. She looks miserable, probably forced by Sterling! If she keeps drinking like this, she'll be ruined. What if she gets a stomach or brain hemorrhage?" Victor exaggerated, making Xavier's grip tighten.

He hadn't slept in days, thinking only of Grace. He missed her terribly.

Xavier wanted to figure out Sterling's intentions; he couldn't just sit back and watch Sterling mess with Grace.

Xavier hung up on Victor and called Mason, "Arrange a private jet."
