Chapter 314 She Becomes Your Girlfriend, I Become Your Lover
Xavier shot Stephanie a look so icy it could freeze fire. "I'm dead serious, Steph. I told you ages ago, you're just a friend to me. Stop obsessing over me."
His coldness made Stephanie squirm. Sure, Xavier was always a bit frosty, but she thought she was different to him. Now, it felt like she was really losing him.
"No way!" Stephanie yelled, "You know I've been into you for years. I'd do anything for you, give up anything for you."
She grabbed his arm, desperation in her eyes. "Xavier, please, don't be so heartless. You haven't even given us a shot. How do you know you don't like me? Just give me a chance."
Stephanie scoffed. "What's so great about Grace? Is she hotter than me? Richer? Anything she can do, I can do better. I can take care of you better than she ever could. Why not give it a try?"
She looked like she was losing it, tears streaming down her face as she knelt down. When she reached for his belt, Xavier stepped back, dodging her.
"Stephanie!" Xavier was pissed now. "Look at yourself. Is this what your grandpa would want?"
Stephanie sat there, bawling. "Why can't it be me? I liked you first, Xavier. I don't mind sharing you with Grace. She can be your girlfriend, and I can be your lover. How about that?"
"You know about Grace?" Xavier's voice turned even colder. "Who told you?"
Stephanie shook her head. "No one told me."
Xavier's eyes narrowed. "Ryan?"
Stephanie's face went pale. She didn't expect him to figure it out so fast. Sometimes, Xavier's instincts were scary accurate.
Guessing Ryan wasn't hard for Xavier. Only a few people knew about him and Grace, and Ryan was the type to stir up trouble. But if Stephanie knew, she wouldn't just sit on it. Something was definitely off.
"Xavier, what does Grace have that I don't?" Stephanie cried, still on her knees, looking up at him.
Xavier's voice was ice-cold. "At least she wouldn't throw away her dignity for a guy. Your grandpa raised you like a princess, so you could have a good life, not end up like this. You should love yourself first and never beg someone to love you."
Grace never begged anyone to love her. If Zach didn't love her, she'd still be fine. She could grow and live her life on her own terms.
Ryan never loved her, and Grace didn't give a damn. She didn't need that kind of love.
Grace was all about being independent, making herself better, shining bright, and grabbing everyone's attention. She didn't have to lift a finger; people would just fall for her naturally.
Stephanie's behavior? Total disgrace.
Sitting on the ground, eyes full of defiance, Stephanie spat out, "Xavier, you know how I am. Aren't you scared I'll do something to Grace?" Her fists were clenched tight.
Xavier stayed cool. "I'll protect my girlfriend. I let your past antics slide, but if you mess with Grace, don't blame me for being ruthless. If the Park family goes down, will you still be so cocky?"
Stephanie shivered at his words.
Xavier was threatening her with the Park family, showing his ruthlessness, yet she still wanted him.
Seeing his face, she was desperate to have him. She wouldn't give up!
Xavier gave her a cold look. "Leave, or I'll call security."
Stephanie didn't want to go, but Xavier was dead set.
He even pressed the button to call security.
She had come in so happy, but now she was leaving in shame.
As the Park family heir, she couldn't let security throw her out. She knew Xavier wouldn't change his mind. If she didn't leave, he'd definitely have her thrown out.
Stephanie got up and left, heading straight to the parking lot.
Feeling weak and disheartened, she couldn't believe it had come to this.
Her relationship with Xavier seemed to have snapped. They used to be so close.
How did Grace manage to seduce Xavier? Was she really that good in bed? Stephanie could do that too.
Xavier didn't give her a chance, not knowing her worth at all.
She had to find a way to show Xavier the wonders of her body. She was way more uninhibited than Grace, ready to indulge Xavier's every desire.
Xavier's heart wasn't in Oakworth anymore. He could leave any time, so she had to act fast.
Stephanie left, but Xavier didn't hang up the phone to security.
"Mr. Montgomery." The security guard sounded nervous. A call from the CEO's office, from the CEO himself, was a big deal.
They rarely interacted with Xavier, but he was the one they feared the most.
The guard was already sweating, wondering if he'd messed up recently.
Xavier ordered, "From now on, if Stephanie comes to the company, don't let her in. Inform Mason in advance."
"Yes, sir!" The guard was terrified.
He thought, 'Stephanie used to come and go as she pleased. Why is Xavier suddenly banning her?'
Puzzled but compliant, the guard reported the news to his superiors.
After hanging up with security, Xavier called Grace.
Grace answered quickly, her playful voice coming through. "Mr. Montgomery, have you dealt with your admirer?"
