Chapter 515 Attempting to Harm Grace
Grace knew that Jared wanted to see her, but with Xavier around, it wasn't easy for Jared to get close to her.
Although Jared acted very affectionately and would certainly be a good father, Grace wasn't fooled.
Grace didn't even know how she felt about Jared. Maybe it was resentment. After all, he had only appeared after so many years, and if it weren't for him, Elizabeth might not have run so far away alone.
Moreover, she felt that things weren't that simple. Elizabeth wouldn't have cut off contact with Chase and the others just because of a simple argument.
The next day, Grace saw Jared again. He was not far away.
Grace thought for a moment and walked over, "Stop following me. I don't want to see you."
Jared looked hurt, "Grace, I just want to see you more."
Grace bluntly said, "But I don't want to see you. You've already caused me trouble. Sorry."
"Mr. Peterson, didn't you hear Grace say she doesn't want to see you? I don't want you appearing in front of her either," said Xavier, who was standing nearby.
Xavier didn't care about Jared's status at all. So what if he had a high position or a lot of money? Even if he was Grace's father, it didn't matter.
"Grace, I don't mean anything else," Jared continued to look at Grace in that way.
He deliberately lowered his eyelashes and sighed heavily, "If you don't want to see me, I won't appear. I respect you."
Jared left dejectedly. Grace watched his back, and for some reason, she didn't feel the slightest bit of sympathy. Instead, she felt a bit of hatred.
If Jared had known it would be like this, why did he betray her mother in the first place?
After Jared left, he returned to his car and his expression changed completely.
His car hadn't driven far when he saw another vehicle parked in the distance.
From a distance, Daniel was peeking out from the car window, staring intently at Grace.
His eyes were filled with excitement. She was so beautiful, he couldn't stop thinking about her.
These past few days, he had been dreaming about Grace.
The more he couldn't get her, the more he wanted her.
Knowing that Xavier was a tough opponent, he knew he couldn't handle him. He wasn't a match for Xavier, so Daniel didn't dare to make a move.
But even though he didn't dare to make a move, he still couldn't stop thinking about Grace. Every time he saw her, he felt like he could do it.
Daniel was practically drooling, his mind entirely on Grace, not noticing the approaching car.
Jared's car drove past, close to Daniel's car. The windows were rolled up, making it hard to see anything without looking closely.
Jared overheard Daniel calling Taylor, urging him to hurry up. He couldn't wait any longer.
Taylor was also in a difficult position, "That Xavier is always around Grace. I really don't have a chance. I want to bring Grace back, but I can't find an excuse. She's very wary of me now. It's really hard to make a move. Give me more time."
"How can I give you more time? Haven't I given you enough time already? You can't even handle this small matter. Do you want to die?" Daniel was very irritable. He had been holding back for a long time.
Taylor said, "Godfather, it's not that I don't want to. It's just that with Xavier around, I really can't do anything."
Daniel knew that Xavier was indeed a problem, even he couldn't handle him.
Last time, he was almost beaten to death by Xavier. After finally recovering, he felt that if he could get Grace, he would be willing to die.
If he couldn't get her, it would be his lifelong regret. He wouldn't rest in peace even in death.
"Think of another way. No matter what, I must have Grace!"
After Daniel angrily finished speaking, he hung up the phone.
Probably because of his bad tone, his voice was quite loud, and Jared, who was nearby, heard everything clearly.
He had indeed seen correctly. This older man was after Grace.
He looked much older than Jared and was so lecherous.
But Jared thought this was a good opportunity.
Xavier had a big reputation and was notoriously difficult to deal with.
Their generation was getting old, and among the younger generation, there weren't many who could rival Xavier. Even if there were, they might not be a match for Xavier.
If Xavier had gone against him, he might not have had much chance of winning.
There were bound to be some things between him and Grace that might come to light in the end, and it was uncertain who would live or die.
What he was doing now was to prevent Grace from digging into the secrets. He always felt that Grace would find out sooner or later, but he couldn't kill her.
If by then, Grace had Xavier by her side, it would be a problem for him.
If Xavier left Grace, things would be easier.
Jared had been following Grace these past few days and always saw Xavier. He felt that Xavier seemed to like Grace a lot, just like Elizabeth and that man back then. They were so sweet it was blinding.
At first, he couldn't find an opportunity or think of a plan, but now, Jared accidentally discovered Daniel. Why not use this to his advantage?
Jared also had a plan. If Daniel defiled Grace, would someone as high and mighty as Xavier still want a tainted woman like Grace?
He didn't think someone like Xavier would truly love anyone. At most, it was because Grace was beautiful now, and it was just a man's possessiveness. Xavier just wanted to have her.
Just like back then, he liked Elizabeth so much, but when he found out that man had used Elizabeth and was pregnant with his child, he only felt anger and rage. Then he realized he didn't like her that much.
He believed Xavier was the same.
Daniel couldn't get close to Grace because of Xavier, which was a problem for them but relatively simple for Jared.
Jared just needed to use some means to create trouble for Xavier and then get Xavier away from Skigeth. This way, Daniel would have a chance to make a move, killing two birds with one stone.
He had considerable influence, and by helping Daniel in secret, he could ensure Daniel's success.
By the time Xavier returned, Grace would have already had a relationship with Daniel. He wanted to see what Xavier would choose then. Xavier certainly wouldn't want Grace anymore.
Even if he didn't mind at first, eventually, Xavier would feel disgusted and look for other women.
The brilliance of this plan was that Jared was using someone else to eliminate his problem, and no one would find out it was him. He had many ways to get Xavier away without getting his hands dirty.
Even if Xavier investigated and got angry, he would only blame Daniel. This matter had nothing to do with Jared.
