Chapter 506 Suspicion Arises

Angela said, "Then I really need to thank your grandpa."

"No! Grandpa doesn't need your thanks," Scott stopped her.

If she went, wouldn't the secret be out?

"Alright, thank you, Scott." At this moment, Angela was genuinely grateful to him.

Angela's politeness made Scott a bit uncomfortable.

He turned his face away, "You're welcome."

At the Turner Mansion, the Turner family had lost their appetite, and Edith was still trying to be the good person.

"Mom, Dad, don't be angry. Angela has always been like this since she was a child; she is so immature. She doesn't consider that we're a family and doesn't give Mom any respect. Mom, you're doing this for her good, and I feel bad for you."

Edith wanted to say more, but seeing Omari return, she quickly called out, "Omari."

Omari had also lost his appetite. "Dad, Mom, there's still work at the company. I'm full, so I'll head back to the office."

Ainsley was about to ask Omari to eat more when Edith said, "Omari, you didn't eat much. Why don't you have a bit more?"

"No, I'm full."

Omari left directly, and Edith added, "How about I have the maid pack some food for you to take to the office? You might be too busy to have dinner later."

Omari declined, "No need, my secretary will bring dinner."

A hint of disappointment flashed in Edith's eyes, unnoticed by Ainsley. Previously, Ainsley hadn't noticed anything, but Angela's words had planted a seed of doubt in her mind.

Angela had said that Edith coveted someone in the house.

There weren't many people in the house, so who could Edith be coveting?

Just now, she noticed that Edith's concern for Omari seemed a bit excessive.

Thinking back, she realized that Edith always asked Omari a lot of questions.

Ainsley said, "Edith, what did Angela mean when she said you were coveting someone in this house?"

Edith's heart skipped a beat, and her face changed. "Mom, those were just Angela's words to sow discord. You can't believe them."

"Are you being too nice to Omari?" Ainsley was still uneasy.

Edith said, "Omari is my brother, my family, just like my parents. Of course, I care about him."

In her heart, she was terrified that Ainsley would find out.

She knew that Ainsley's affection for her was temporary because she always presented a good image. Ainsley was extremely selfish and self-centered, not allowing anyone to go against her.

If Ainsley knew her thoughts, she would undoubtedly kick her out without hesitation.

It seemed that way, but Ainsley still felt a bit displeased.

"You don't need to worry about Omari anymore."

Edith pressed her lips together, "Okay, Mom."

"You're not young anymore. I should find you a good husband," Ainsley continued.

Edith shook her head vigorously, "Mom, I want to stay with you a bit longer. I don't want to get married yet."

Cruz also said, "Let's talk about this later. Let's deal with Angela's situation first."

Ainsley agreed and decided to put it aside for now.

Angela told Grace about the situation and her plan.

Grace said, "I can imagine the scene. So, you agreed to have dinner with the Ross family because you want to..."

"Of course. If they don't want me to have a good time, then no one will. I'm not afraid of anyone now."

Angela was married, and she was actually looking forward to having dinner with the Ross family. After all, it was only a few days away.

"I'm already married. What about you and Mr. Montgomery? Aren't you going to hurry up?"

"We're still not sure."

"Has he mentioned marriage?"

"He has."

In fact, Xavier had mentioned it several times.

Grace said, "I just haven't made up my mind yet."

Angela nodded, "That's true. Your situation is different from mine. I don't care anymore, but you need to think it through."

After finishing their meal, Grace and Angela parted ways.

Xavier picked up Grace, but instead of taking the main road, he drove through an alley.

Grace found it strange, "Are we taking a shortcut?"

Xavier shook his head, "No, someone is following us."

And that person had been following them for several days.

Xavier had noticed it and had someone investigate.

Xavier was very cautious about anything related to Grace. He wasn't sure of the person's intentions, so he planned to catch them this time.

The car drove into the alley, maneuvering through it skillfully. Despite the narrow and dim alley, Xavier drove steadily.

Xavier's car exited the alley and then re-entered from another side, confusing the person following them.

Finally, Xavier blocked the person at the alley entrance. He told Grace, "Stay in the car. I'll go check."

"What if it's dangerous? Should we call for backup?"

"No worries, I can handle it."

With that, Xavier got out of the car.

The person in the other car, realizing they were caught, got out as well.

"Mr. Peterson," Xavier said, recognizing the man, someone he hadn't expected.

"Mr. Montgomery, it's been a long time."

"For Mr. Peterson, it shouldn't be long. You've been following me every day. Are you looking for an opportunity to harm me?"

"Mr. Montgomery, you've misunderstood. I have no such intentions. It's just that someone with you looks like an old acquaintance of mine. I've investigated, and the lady in the car should be Ms. Lewis. We met on the cruise before," Jared said with an ambiguous expression.

Years of cunning had taught him to hide his emotions. People like him had perfected their acting skills.

"I've been searching for that old acquaintance for over twenty years without any news. I wanted to meet Ms. Lewis but didn't have the courage, fearing she would reject me. So, I followed you. Mr. Montgomery, if it's convenient, could you let me meet Ms. Lewis alone?"

Jared appeared deeply emotional, his tone urgent and sorrowful.

It seemed like he had been searching for a long time and finally found the person, but he didn't dare acknowledge them.

Grace felt a tremor in her heart when she saw the person who had gotten out of the car. It was Jared!

Jared looked very refined, exuding an old-fashioned aura. It was clear he had been handsome in his youth.

Grace remembered Steven mentioning that her biological father might be Jared.

She didn't know what Xavier and Jared were talking about, but she wondered if Jared had seen her face and realized she was Elizabeth's daughter.
