Chapter 82 He's a Beast

Meanwhile, Madison was in a very bad mood because of yesterday's events, so she went out early to go shopping.
Only spending money could make her feel a bit better, and whenever she saw something she liked, she had to buy it, regardless of the cost. She could easily spend millions, let alone tens of thousands. Even if the clothes were expensive, reaching six figures, Madison didn't care at all.
She recalled that this shopping mall seemed to house Grace's store, likely not the flagship but rather a mere branch with hardly any customers.
Madison walked over and saw that Iris's store was crowded. Even though the perfumes were sold out, many people were still coming to choose.
"My friend got one yesterday. I'm so envious of her, and when I smelled it, it really had a nice fragrance, not a bit overpowering."
"Same here. I have sensitive skin, and I used to get allergies when I used perfumes before. I was nervous when I bought a bottle of Iris perfume, but it didn't cause any allergic reactions at all. It's perfect for me."
Upon hearing this, Madison's jealousy fermented furiously once more.
Today, she received a call from a store employee saying that there were hardly any customers in the store, but Grace's store was unexpectedly crowded.
She saw a busy person. 'Yaeli? Wasn't Yaeli working at the nail salon before? How come she was now at Grace's store? Isn't Yaeli supposed to be her friend? How could she betray her!'
With nowhere to vent her anger, Madison walked straight in.
"Welcome." Yaeli didn't expect to encounter Madison again after the incident at the nail salon.
Last time, after the commotion caused by Madison, she lost her job, and now, just two days into her new job, she encountered Madison again!
"Acquaintance, Yaeli, aren't you rich? One moment laboring at the nail salon, the next here. How desperate must your financial situation be," Madison jeered, even pulling out her phone to photograph Yaeli.
"Don't move. I shall share this with our class group. You've been trailing behind me like a hound before. I cannot neglect you, can I? Otherwise, I might consider rallying donations from everyone to assist you a bit."
Madison's words were extremely insulting, and Yaeli bit her lip tightly.
She didn't mess with Madison, did she? What's wrong with her working and paying off her credit cards?
Back in school, she did want to get along with Madison and thought they were friends, but now it seemed Madison just treated her like a dog!
However, as Madison continued to insult her, it seemed like she found some kind of relief. She continued to taunt, "Don't think we don't know, you're not really rich, your family doesn't have money at all, you're just pretending. Your bags are all fake or hand-me-downs, and your makeup is all picked up, pitiful and ridiculous!"
After finishing her insults, Madison finally felt somewhat relieved.
She turned around and left the store without looking back.
Meanwhile, Yaeli, clenching her fists and biting her lip, was inherently a person of great pride. Otherwise, she wouldn't have pretended to be affluent despite lacking funds, silently working to pay off her debts.
What's the big deal about being wealthy? Madison spent her family's money—there's nothing to boast about.
Madison looked down on her like this. One day, those words would come back to her.
She wanted Madison to know the pain of being insulted!
What she didn't expect was that the opportunity came so quickly.
Due to owing too much on her credit cards, she worked a day job during the day and also worked at a bar at night, where money came in faster.
She didn't expect to encounter Madison's father, Zach. Yaeli had previously been a guest at the Lewis family's residence and had made acquaintance with him.
Zach and a few friends came to the bar. He was hoping his friends could lend him some money, but they all claimed to have various difficulties and couldn't come up with any. In the end, Zach didn't borrow a single cent.
The company's finance department made many calls to chase him for payments, and even their business partners were asking about when the final payments would be made. Zach turned off his phone as if those messages had nothing to do with him.
When Zach was quite drunk, a uniformed waitress approached him. "Are you Mr. Lewis?"
"Who are you?" Zach squinted at the girl in front of him.
Yaeli spoke up, "I'm Madison's classmate Yaeli. I've met you at your house before."
Zach didn't have much of an impression but just nodded.
Seeing Zach looking uncomfortable, Yaeli stood behind him and said, "Mr. Lewis, are you feeling unwell? I happen to know a massage technique. Would you like me to give you a massage?"
Zach didn't refuse; he was indeed tired and weary. Yaeli's massage technique was indeed good, and Zach felt very comfortable. After a while, Zach spoke up, "Why are you working here?"
"I have some difficulties at home, so I'm working to earn my tuition fees."
A hint of admiration appeared in Zach's eyes. Looking at others, all working to pay for their education, and then looking at Madison, who only knew how to play and spend her family's money.
Feeling agitated, Zach drank a lot more later on. He returned home in a drunken state, not knowing where Taylor had gone. Not long after, Madison came in, carrying many bags in her hands.
"Dad, behold my newly acquired attire; this is the latest fashion, a gem that even affluence does not guarantee one to possess."
"And this necklace, isn't it beautiful?"
"How much?" Zach asked.
"Not expensive. These clothes add up to about four to five hundred thousand dollars, and this jewelry is a bit pricier, probably over two million dollars."
Zach's countenance shifted slightly. 'Did Madison spend so much money on these things?'
She had been extravagant with money since she was young. Even though the Lewis family was like this, she still didn't know how to restrain herself!
"What's wrong, Dad? Should I go change the clothes for you?" Madison was still immersed in the joy of buying nice clothes.
She quickly went upstairs and changed into her new fashionable dress. When she came downstairs, she twirled in front of Zach.
Under the light, Zach looked at his daughter. At that moment, he realized that Madison had grown up and maturated.
Before that, he had always treated Madison like a child. Now, looking at his daughter in front of him, with a face that combined his strengths and Taylor Blair's beauty, he could say she was very beautiful.
No wonder even Mr. Gunter took notice.
He was truly at his wits' end. After raising Madison for so many years and spending quite a bit of money on her, it was time for Madison to do something for this family.
'Madison, don't blame Daddy.'
"Dad, how does it look? Is it good?" Madison asked.
Zach nodded. "It looks good."
Madison was overjoyed and remained oblivious to what kind of mind her father had before her.
Of course, Zach would never personally take her to that place. He couldn't bring himself to push his own daughter into the abyss.
He remembered Madison's classmate, Yaeli, who was in need of money.
