Chapter 599 As a Brother-in-law, This is All I Can Do for You
Grace had always known Xavier was strong; she didn't need another reminder.
But Xavier insisted on holding her hand, guiding it all over his body.
Grace blushed, unable to deny she was enjoying it. After all, Xavier had an incredible physique.
She knew it was a trap, yet she foolishly fell for it.
She was completely under Xavier's spell, and it wasn't until he guided her hand to his private area that Grace snapped out of it.
She knew it was all a setup!
Xavier leaned in closer. "Grace, there's a saying: 'One good turn deserves another.' So now, shouldn't I get to feel you too?"
Grace tried to pull her burning hand away. "You were the one who insisted on me touching you, not the other way around."
"But Grace, aren't you responsible for the desire you stirred up? Can you really bear to see me suffer?"
"Absolutely!" Grace's heart was as cold as ice.
"But I can't bear to see my Grace suffer." Xavier's kiss landed near Grace's ear, nuzzling her like a big, affectionate dog.
"I'm not suffering!" Grace pushed Xavier away. He was too close, and she couldn't tell if it was the weather getting hotter or something else, but she felt incredibly warm.
"Really not suffering?"
Grace shook her head vigorously.
Xavier's hand skillfully slipped under Grace's nightgown. "Then why is your body producing so much fluid?"
"It's practically flooding."
Xavier whispered the last few words into Grace's ear, his breath making her cheeks burn.
"Xavier!" Grace couldn't take it anymore. He loved being a tease, and he had the audacity to say such things!
Grace tried to escape Xavier's grasp, but she was no match for him. His nimble fingers controlled her, and eventually, Grace surrendered completely.
...
The next day, Grace and Angela sat in a coffee shop, both sporting large dark circles under their eyes.
As soon as they saw each other, they pointed at one another. "Your eyes!"
"Angela, did you turn into a panda?" Grace asked.
Angela replied, "Look who's talking! Check yourself in the mirror; your dark circles are just as bad as mine!"
Grace didn't bother looking in the mirror; she knew exactly how she looked.
"All because of you," Grace said weakly.
Angela slumped over the table. "What does this have to do with me?"
Angela had barely slept the night before, her mind a chaotic mess, feeling like it was divine punishment for teasing Scott.
Early in the morning, Angela saw Grace's message and arranged to meet her for coffee.
Now, sitting together, they looked equally exhausted.
"You sent me that photo. I was looking at it when Xavier saw it. He insisted I was looking at other men instead of him, and then I got a lecture."
"Sounds like Mr. Montgomery gave you a loving lesson. He must have really put you through the wringer to leave you like this," Angela said with a gossipy glint in her eye.
"Jealous men are terrifying. What about you and my brother? Did you two... you know?" Grace propped her chin up, staring at Angela.
"What are you talking about?" Angela's face turned bright red. "I'm a decent person, and you know your brother. Women can't even touch him, let alone... you know."
Someone as aloof as him wasn't easy to get close to.
"Then last night, you weren't sleeping together? He's so reserved, how did he let you see his abs and even take a photo?"
Angela was too embarrassed to admit she not only saw and photographed but also touched.
"It's complicated. But your brother does have a great body, right?"
"Sure, but my Mr. Montgomery's is even better!"
"Your Mr. Montgomery? Show me proof, or I won't believe it."
Grace said, "Next time, I'll have him strip for you."
"You really treat me like a sister. But even if he strips, I wouldn't dare look. Xavier's the kind of guy who can scare you with just a glance. I'd probably keep my eyes shut. Better not."
Xavier might seem like a gentle, caring man to Grace, but to others, he was a cold, intimidating figure. Ordinary people found it nearly impossible to meet him.
Grace ordered a fruit tea, Angela a coffee, and they chatted, reminiscing about old times.
Angela checked her phone and suddenly sat up. "Caden's asking where we are, says he wants to join us for a drink."
"Sure, let him come over," Grace said. She knew Caden from school; they were all quite familiar with each other.
Caden arrived quickly and was stunned when he saw Grace. "Is that really you, Grace Lewis?"
In his memory, Grace didn't look like this. Women truly become more beautiful as they mature.
Grace smiled lightly. "Long time no see, Caden."
"A goddess," Caden marveled.
Angela pulled him aside. "What goddess? Grace is about to get married. Her husband could crush you with one hand. Keep your distance."
"You're getting married too? Why is everyone getting married without waiting for me?" Caden lamented.
The three of them had lunch together and spent the evening hanging out. It wasn't until Xavier finished his work and came to pick up Grace that they parted ways.
"This is my classmate, Caden Reynolds," Grace introduced.
Xavier nodded and replied coolly, "Hello."
His simple response carried an air of aloofness, as if he belonged to a different world.
"Hello, hello," Caden quickly said.
Grace left with Xavier, hand in hand, looking like a perfect couple from behind.
Caden turned to Angela. "Where do you live? I'll take you home."
"No need, I can go by myself."
"Don't be so polite. We're old classmates. I have nothing else to do, so I should make sure you get home safely."
Angela hesitated, but then a voice interrupted. "She doesn't need you to take her."
Caden and Angela turned to see Scott approaching.
"What are you doing here?" Angela was surprised to see Scott. How did he know where she was?
"Let's go. I'll take you home," Scott said without explanation.
He wouldn't admit that Xavier had given him the address. When Xavier came to pick up Grace, he knew the three of them were together.
So he sent Scott a message, reminding him that if he took Grace away, Angela would be left alone with Caden.
As a brother-in-law, that was the least he could do.
