Chapter 428 I Like Grace

Scott was floored for a couple of seconds, then turned to Steven and Thomas, "Wait, it's not April Fool's Day, right?"

He must've heard wrong.

Grace's face twisted in pain, "I'm three months pregnant. The baby's Xavier's, but we broke up. I thought about getting an abortion, but I just can't do it when I think about the baby inside me."

Grace went on, "I want to keep this baby. Maybe my mom felt the same way when she had me. I get her now, and I want to be a little selfish and have this baby, okay?"

Thinking of Evelyn, Grace's eyes welled up.

"Grace, don't cry. We just didn't see it coming. Are you serious? I'm gonna be an uncle?" Scott was in disbelief.

Steven's face turned pale. He just said, "I need some air."

Grace knew Steven was definitely going to find Xavier to settle the score.

"Steven." Grace grabbed him. "Xavier doesn't know I'm pregnant; I found out after we broke up. I just couldn't bring myself to end this pregnancy."

Scott chimed in, "Grace, you're still defending Xavier."

Grace shook her head. "I'm not defending him. I get mad when I see him too. If you want to give him trouble, go ahead. Just don't tell him I'm pregnant."

"Don't worry," Steven said through clenched teeth.

Meanwhile, Chase wiped his tears and hugged Grace tightly, "Poor Grace, how could you..."

Grace said, "Grandpa, are you trying to say how could I end up like my mom? I think she felt the same way. Otherwise, she wouldn't have gone through all that to have me."

Grace added, "And I'm different from my mom. She didn't tell you who my dad was, but I'm admitting it. The baby is Xavier's. I don't want anything to do with him anymore, so I don't want him to know."

"If you want to scold me, go ahead." Grace had already made up her mind when she confessed.

Who in the Coleman family could bear to scold Grace?  They loved her so much and felt bad for her.

If they had found Grace earlier, how could they have let her suffer like this?

Xavier must have thought Grace was easy to deceive because she had no background at the time.

"Grace." Chase held Grace tightly, not wanting to let go.

Grace hadn't cried yet, but Chase's eyes were already wet.

There were few girls in the Coleman family. Why did everyone come to bully them?

"Grandpa, I'm doing well and have no regrets now, and I believe I won't in the future either." Grace also hugged Chase, comforting him.

With the Coleman family's influence, they quickly found out where Xavier was.

Xavier was now at the DG Group's branch in Skigeth. Despite not sleeping all night, Xavier was still full of energy. He had been busy with work for the past few days, and today he finished early, so he started looking into the shooting case again.

They had found Aiden, the shareholder who took Stephanie's shares, seemed squeaky clean. No assets to his name, no shady relatives, nothing. It was like hitting a dead end.

In the real business world, nobody was that clean. Mason had been digging around and found some interesting stuff. Aiden had two close buddies, and while they seemed normal, their wives had some serious assets.

Those assets didn't match the lifestyle or income of Aiden's friends.

Xavier was already suspicious, but they didn't have solid proof yet.

The current evidence suggested Aiden wasn't as straightforward as he seemed. He was more scheming than any other shareholder in the Park Group.

Whether he took Stephanie's shares on purpose or by accident was still up in the air.

Thinking from another angle, what if Stephanie had teamed up with him?

Xavier hadn't considered this before because Joseph was Stephanie's grandfather and her only family. Stephanie would never harm her grandfather.

But now Xavier thought that for a crazy Stephanie, she could do anything.

Xavier called Mason and asked him to check if Stephanie and Aiden had any contact and if Aiden had any connection with the shareholder who confessed.

It was still uncertain if Aiden had anything to do with Joseph's death, but undoubtedly, Aiden was the biggest beneficiary.

At that moment, there was a knock on the office door. "Mr. Montgomery, someone named Mr. Coleman wants to see you."

"Let him up." Xavier guessed it was Grace's brother but wasn't sure why he was here.

Steven was brought to the reception room, and Xavier quickly went over.

As soon as Xavier reached the door, Steven punched him square in the face. Xavier's lip started bleeding instantly, and the secretary who hadn't left was stunned.

"Why did you hit Mr. Montgomery? I'll call security." The secretary was terrified.

"No need, this has nothing to do with you. You can leave." Xavier wiped the blood from his lip and ordered.

"Yes." The secretary had no idea what was happening. This handsome guy had hit Xavier as soon as he walked in, and strangely, Xavier wasn't mad.

Soon, it was just Xavier and Steven in the reception room. Steven grabbed Xavier's shirt and punched him again.

Steven hit hard, knocking Xavier onto the sofa.

Xavier's eye was bruised, and his nose was bleeding, but he still didn't fight back.

Steven punched Xavier two more times. Looking at the beaten Xavier, Steven still felt unsatisfied.

Steven couldn't understand how Xavier had managed to deceive Grace. She was pregnant with his baby, and he didn't even know. Yet Grace still defended him, only allowing Steven to punch him a few times to vent his anger.

"Xavier, you deserve it!" Steven's voice was filled with rage.

Xavier didn't respond but said, "I love Grace."
