Chapter 121 So You Were Using Me
Grace didn't rush to respond to Xavier's words, but instead called out to Jessica.
She picked up the necklace and personally placed it in Jessica's hand. "Ms. Cole, since your necklace is valuable, don't just toss it around."
Jessica left angrily with the necklace in hand.
Grace was in a good mood, only then did she realize the call hadn't been hung up. After thinking for a while, she replied, "I didn't think of helping with anything, I just couldn't stand Jessica, so I wanted to annoy her."
Grace didn't expect that Jessica, as a wealthy heiress, would have so many tricks.
Previously, she thought that Jessica and Madison were not the same kind of people, but now it seems they are alike.
"So you're using me?" Xavier's voice didn't reveal any emotions.
"Sort of, I owe you one this time. Next time you need my help, just let me know, and I'll return the favor," Grace replied.
Xavier chuckled, "Do you think you have anything useful to offer me?"
"Well, you never know, maybe one day when you want to annoy someone, you can call me out."
"Alright." Xavier just responded lightly, condoning her actions.
"When did you leave?" Grace asked.
"In the morning," Xavier paused for a while.
"You must be busy now, so I'll hang up first, bye!" Without waiting for Xavier to say anything, Grace hung up the phone.
Over the next two days, Grace stayed indoors to avoid any further trouble, opting to have her meals delivered to her room by the hotel staff.
Naturally, Grace didn't see Xavier again; Xavier also didn't message her, it was as if nothing had happened between them.
Fortunately, the week-long vacation was finally coming to an end; Grace could leave tomorrow.
She couldn't deny that she had fun. At least when she was with Xavier, she felt genuinely happy.
After packing her things and putting them in the car, getting ready to drive, she saw Ryan hurrying over from the side.
"Grace, my car broke down, can you give me a ride?"
Ryan's car had been broken since the first night, and he hadn't gotten it fixed in these days.
"It's out of my way," Grace refused.
"I'm offering you an opportunity. If I choose not to leave, do you believe you could depart instead?" Ryan challenged.
Grace was also afraid that Patrick might do something again, so she tossed the car keys to Ryan. "You take the wheel."
"Do you want me to be your driver? You must be dreaming!" Ryan seemed unbelievable.
"If you don't want to, then get off my car," Grace replied.
Ryan didn't want to drive the car, but he had been eager to leave this place for a long time. He took the keys from Grace, accidentally brushing against her hand, the warm feeling made him feel a tingling sensation, while Grace had already withdrawn her hand as if nothing happened.
Ryan assumed that Grace must be secretly pleased, deliberately giving him the car keys, trying to touch his hand!
Grace went straight to the back seat, as Ryan saw and said, "Come sit in the front!"
Grace said, "Isn't your front seat reserved for Kelly? If I sit there, what if she gets mad?"
Bringing up Kelly, Ryan hesitated for a moment, he seemed to have not thought about Kelly for a long time, not even once during their time at the vacation resort. Instead, this damn Grace was all that occupied his mind.
Seeing Ryan frozen, Grace patted the seat. "What are you staring at? Go."
The tone of this command made Ryan surprisingly not angry, he felt like he was going crazy.
Ryan asked as he was driving, "Where have you been staying these days?"
"Why do you care where I stay?" Grace replied.
Ryan reminded, "Grace, this time it was my dad who arranged for us to build our relationship!"
Grace didn't lift an eyelid. "I don't think there's any connection to foster between us."
"You!" Ryan looked at Grace through the rear-view mirror, wondering how dare she speak to him in such a tone; It was absolutely unreasonable!
Ryan didn't bother to engage in conversation with Grace, and naturally, Grace didn't initiate any either, making the ride back particularly quiet.
Of course, Ryan couldn't possibly drop Grace off, so he drove to the Montgomery family's place, where Patrick was also at the door; Grace could only get off to greet him.
"Mr. Montgomery."
Patrick smiled. "Grace, how was your time with Ryan these days?"
"It was fine," Grace said.
"That's good, come in and have lunch together later," Patrick invited.
"Mr. Montgomery, I'm a bit tired and want to rest first. I have some work to attend to at the company this afternoon, so I won't be able to join you for lunch," Grace responded.
Ryan complained from the side, "You've been on vacation these days, and I've been the one driving. You can't possibly be tired."
Patrick didn't insist, as Grace quickly left in her car.
Upon entering, Patrick immediately changed to a more serious expression. "Ryan."
Ryan was curious. "Dad, why are you so good to Grace?"
"Did you see Grace and Xavier together when you were at the vacation resort?" Patrick didn't answer but put another question directly.
"Xavier and Grace?" Ryan thought for a moment, then shook his head. "No."
"Are you sure?" Patrick felt something was off.
"What's wrong, Dad?"
"Nothing, go inside, your mom misses you."
Ryan thought of something suddenly. "Dad, can I go see Kelly?"
"I'll just take a look at her, I promise not to do anything."
Patrick refused harshly, "No! Once you're married to Grace, I'll naturally let Kelly go."
"Dad, I just want to see her, that's all, Dad!" Ryan begged.
However, no matter what Ryan said, it was of no use. Patrick was clearly firm and wouldn't allow him to meet Kelly.
Grace drove to the company first. Despite working remotely recently, being in the office felt entirely different.
She started with a meeting, where she discussed the company's upcoming developments with everyone. In the afternoon, she visited various stores and then checked on the factory in the evening.
Since Angela had promised to visit her, Grace requested Angela to stop by her house first, in case she returned later.
By the time Grace got home, it was already nine o'clock.
Angela had prepared dinner.
"Grace, you've had such a busy day, going straight to the office without resting, you must not have eaten yet. Come wash up and have dinner." Angela brought out the dinner.
Grace walked over and hugged Angela. "Angela, you're so kind. What will I do if you get married in the future?"
"Don't worry, even if I get married, I won't forget about you. Go wash up and try the dinner I made!" Angela patted her shoulder.
