Chapter 337 My Girlfriend, Grace

Their gathering was at a bar.

When Grace arrived, she was stunned to see so many guests.

Didn't Xavier say it was a small gathering with just a few friends?

Why were there so many guests, all dripping with wealth and dressed in designer clothes?

Especially the women, who were all wearing haute couture dresses and heavy makeup. Had you been unaware, you might have assumed they were attending a grand banquet.

In contrast, Grace was dressed very casually, completely out of place here.

Even Xavier noticed that this was not what he had expected. He looked at the man over there and asked, "What's going on?"

The man was Colin Morris, a good friend of Xavier's in Oakworth. Colin's family had been in politics for three generations, but he had no interest in it. Instead, he liked to follow Xavier and learn about business.

Colin said, "I don't know, either. I didn't invite many of these guests. I think Stephanie  has invited them."

"Xavier, is this the woman you said you wanted to introduce to us?" Colin had been curious for a long time since this was the first time Xavier had ever introduced a woman to them.

"Yeah, she's my girlfriend, Grace Lewis," Xavier introduced briefly.

As soon as he said this, the others expressed their surprise loudly, and some even widened their eyes. This was the first time Xavier had brought a woman out and admitted she was his girlfriend.

"Hello, my name is Grace Lewis," Grace greeted them.

She also saw Dominic. "Mr. Neville, you're here. I haven't had the chance to express my gratitude."

"No need for formalities," Dominic said indifferently.

Colin looked Grace up and down without blinking, and Xavier nudged him, "What are you staring at? It's rude."

Colin chuckled, "I just wanted to see what kind of beauty could conquer you."

Everyone had always thought that Xavier would never get married, but Xavier had surprised them all.

Colin leaned in close to Xavier's ear and whispered, "Xavier, everyone knows that Stephanie fancies you. Bringing her here in this manner, especially with Stephanie inviting such a crowd, can hardly bode well."

They all knew very well what kind of person Stephanie was.

Xavier said calmly, "I know."

At that moment, a group of women came over, led by Stephanie's most loyal follower, Amara Murphy.

"Where did this tacky waitress come from? Hurry up and pour me a drink."

As soon as Amara spoke, there was a burst of laughter from the people around her.

"Watch your tongue," Colin interjected. "This is Xavier's date."

Amara pretended to be surprised, "Oh, is she Xavier's date? Sorry, Xavier, she just looks so much like a waitress. It was a misunderstanding."

She looked at Grace, "Xavier, if she's your date, why is she dressed so tackily? Is she trying to embarrass you on purpose, not taking you seriously, or does she think we're not worth dressing up for?"

At this moment, Stephanie also came over, "Don't make it hard for her. Some people are just trash, no matter how well they dress."

Stephanie was insanely jealous that Xavier had brought Grace to introduce her to their circle.

Everyone in this circle was wealthy and influential, and anyone could be a prominent figure in Oakworth.

Everyone knew that Stephanie was supposed to be Xavier's future wife, and now they were all laughing at her.

Stephanie had been trying to deal with Grace these past few days, but Grace had a group of well-trained bodyguards around her, so she couldn't find an opportunity. She had to wait until tonight.

Tonight, she was going to make Grace a laughingstock.

After Stephanie finished speaking, Grace finally said, "Does it really matter what you wear? Why are some people so well-dressed but still so ugly inside?"

Amara immediately said, "Xavier, she's insulting us first. Isn't that a bit rude?"

Grace smiled sweetly. "I didn't mention any names. If you're choosing to be offended, that's not my problem."

Xavier then asked, "Does she mention anybody? Is she rude?"

Amara was at a loss for words. It seemed Stephanie was right; Grace was not simple.

And Grace dared to talk to them like this, relying on Xavier's favor.

Colin came over to smooth things over, "Let's not stand here talking. Let's go sit down. It's been a while since we had a drink together. Xavier, you have to drink a few more tonight."

Xavier and Grace then walked over, and Colin poured drinks while saying, "Let's drink first. We have a special guest coming later."

Grace was curious about who this special guest was when she saw Lucius walking over.

"He's here," Colin said, raising his glass.

Grace was surprised as she didn't expect Colin to be talking about Lucius.

Did Lucius know them?

No wonder Lucius had suddenly shown up at her store when Iris opened. It was all because of Xavier.

"So, when I opened my store, you were the one who invited Lucius?" Grace whispered in Xavier's ear.

Xavier had forgotten about it. He didn't expect Grace to remember.

"What, do you want to express your gratitude now?"

Grace felt that when Xavier said this, nothing good would come of it. Admittedly, the next second, she felt her earlobe being pinched, "Remember how much you owe me and make it up to me later."

Grace's cheeks turned red instantly.

In public, did Xavier's friends know that he was actually a rogue?

Not far away, Stephanie was glaring at Grace and Xavier.

Xavier was being so affectionate with Grace in front of everyone. Or was it Grace who was being deliberately seductive, leaning in to whisper in his ear?

She was clearly using him, trying to climb the social ladder. And wasn't it convenient that her store was opening in Oakworth? Xavier was undoubtedly behind it all.

Xavier was so smart; how could he not see through such a low-level trick?

Grace had managed to break off her engagement with the Montgomery Family and make Xavier fall for her to this extent. It wasn't easy for Grace to get this far.

But tonight, Stephanie was going to make Grace a laughingstock.

It was still early. She wanted to see who would win in the end.
