Chapter 10 The Third Party Lives at Home

Rose's voice was soft, neither hurried nor annoyed, but enough to strip Jessica of her dignity and self-respect.
Jessica's slender fingers stirred the coffee in front of her nervously, and she was upset.
Jessica wondered, 'So James really tells Rose everything. In their eyes, I must be a joke, right?'
Jessica decided to go along with her words, "Since Miss Morris is so kind, why not be a good person and stop interfering with my life with James? How about that?"
Rose's expression stiffened; she had expected Jessica to be very angry.
But unexpectedly, Jessica managed to keep calm.
Rose smiled and said, "I don't want it to be this way either, but love cannot be forced, Miss Evans. You're still young; you wouldn't understand."
Jessica's hand under the table clenched tightly. Every word from Rose was like a knife, cutting her heart to pieces.
She could imagine that they were not platonic. After all, how could a man and his beloved woman control themselves?
But when Rose told her these things so bluntly, Jessica felt suffocated.
She took a deep breath and said, "So your purpose today is to have me make way for you two?"
"I'll have James compensate you more money. Name your price."
Rose thought Jessica had given in and took the opportunity to offer a tempting condition, using money as bait.
Jessica chuckled softly. 'Did everyone think I married James for money?' she wondered. "I'm sorry, but if I continue being Mrs. Kelly, I can get much more than this divorce compensation."
"But love always has a sequence."
Seeing that Jessica was unmoved, Rose's smile faltered, and her tone became slightly urgent, "Miss Evans, even if you insist, it's useless. After all, It's true love between James and I."
Jessica nodded, "Yes, you call it love, but we call it marriage. Love may have a sequence, but the law does not protect that sequence. That marriage certificate means you are not legitimate."
Jessica stood up. This was the Kelly Family, and it was her home, too.
"Olivia Hayes, see her off."
Rose's smile clearly froze; Jessica was going to kick her out.
Olivia, however, hesitated and didn't move. When James brought Rose back earlier, he specifically instructed them to take good care of Rose.
They could all see Rose's status in James's heart.
At this moment, a voice sounded. James slowly walked down from the second floor of the villa, his steps heavy and steady.
The servants watched silently from the side, a hint of amusement in their eyes.
"Miss Morris will be living here from now on," James said coldly, each word firm and authoritative, leaving no room for doubt.
His gaze was unwavering and deep, as if nailing each word into the listener's heart.
Jessica stood aside, her face slightly pale, her heart tightening as if she was forced into an awkward position, unable to refute.
Rose, on the other hand, had a look of delight on her face, as if this was everything she had ever dreamed of.
She lowered her head slightly, trying to hide her inner glee.
"James, will Miss Evans mind if I live here? After all, you two are the married couple." Rose asked knowingly, but as she lowered her head, she looked pitiful. However, from Jessica's angle, she could obviously see that Rose smiled quietly.
