Chapter 554 Long-Lost Sister (4)
"What the heck?"
The manager gaped at him, totally floored. Ambrose was never known for being nice.
This was so out of character!
Jessica was just as shocked. This guy, who looked like a mob boss, was letting her go?
Seeing her still standing there, Ambrose's voice turned icy. "Why are you still here? Get out!"
Jessica snapped out of it and bolted, stumbling as she ran like her life depended on it.
Ambrose watched her retreating figure, lost in thought.
The manager's eyes lit up, trying to suck up to Ambrose. "Mr. Mellon, are you interested in that woman? Want me to bring her back for you?"
Before he could finish, Ambrose kicked him again, nearly making the manager cough up blood.
The manager looked at his boss, confused and innocent. "Mr. Mellon, what did I do wrong? Please tell me! Ms. Morris told me to do this."
Ambrose grabbed him by the collar and snarled, "You better remember who your real boss is! And within three days, I want you to find out everything about Jessica. I need to know who her parents are! Investigate everything about the Evans family! If you don't, I'll throw you into the ocean to feed the fish!"
The manager quickly agreed, thinking Jessica must have gotten incredibly lucky to catch Ambrose's attention.
Who would have thought that Rose couldn't beat Jessica with James, and now, even at the Skyline Club, she still couldn't win?
The manager scrambled away to follow orders.
Meanwhile, Ambrose couldn't calm his turbulent emotions.
Could Jessica be the sister he had been searching for all these years?
He couldn't believe it.
Out on the windy street, Jessica pulled her coat tighter, but it did little to ward off the biting cold.
She ran down the road, crying, no longer caring about the stares from passersby.
Thinking about how she had almost died at the Skyline Club today, she felt a deep sense of post-traumatic fear.
"James, where are you? Where are you?" she whispered in despair, on the verge of breaking down.
Would those people come after her again?
Just then, a familiar voice called out from behind her.
"Jessica!"
Nathan had already reached her, looking at her disheveled and distressed state in disbelief.
Jessica was terrified, but after screaming, she realized it was Nathan.
"Mr. Howard."
Seeing him felt like a glimmer of hope, and she wasn't as scared anymore.
Nathan, seeing her in such a state, asked anxiously, "What happened to you? Tell me, are you in danger?"
Jessica suddenly broke down in tears, teetering on the edge of collapse.
Nathan didn't ask any more questions. He took off his coat and draped it over her, then quickly led her to his car.
Soon, Nathan drove back to the Howard Villa.
Kennedy was stunned to see him bring a pregnant woman home in the middle of the night.
"Nathan, what's going on?"
Kennedy thought Jessica looked somewhat familiar, but her clothes were disheveled, and her hair was a mess. It was all very strange.
